Service is 10/10, food 10/10. No where else can replicate the food, people, or ambiance this place provides.

My Bride and I love this place, but it's been years since we were in town and free at breakfast time. Today we actually got here half an hour before they opened at 8:30, so we had quite an appetite by the time we were seated! We had barely sat down when a server swung by the table and filled our cups with delicious coffee. Moments later a second server came to take our order - I mean, we hadn't been in the restaurant four minutes; these folks are that good! I ordered the Old Chickahominy Breakfast- Virginia country ham, bacon, and sausage with two eggs (over easy for me), grits, hot biscuits and coffee for just $14.95. My idea of Heaven. If you can't eat your grits with a fork, you don't want them anyway, and these were spot on. The ham was perfect- thin slices of salty, meaty goodness- and the bacon was cooked with exactly the right balance of crispy and chewy. A word about Chickahominy House biscuits- they are squarish and flattish, not at all what a traditional Southern biscuit is supposed to be. But they're exactly what they need to be. My Bride got the country bacon and two eggs with hot biscuits ($8.95) and added a bowl of grits ($1.50). As we were finishing our breakfast, she said "oh- they have pie!" I asked the server, who said she knew they had a couple slices of cherry pie, and she would see if any of the others were ready yet. We ended up getting a slab of coconut pie, still warm from the oven, with whipped cream. The total for this remarkable feast was $35 including tax! We tipped extra because it was our server's birthday.

$9 breakfast. Cooked as requested (well done)

Excellent friendly polite service from the gentleman giving the waters to our server (darn didn't get her name). The food was good but just small portions. Huge place with plenty of seating and they have a gift shop as well.

By far the CUTEST breakfast place with the nicest employees. In an old colonial house, this restaurant makes you feel like you are having a home-cooked meal with the comforts of your family and friends. Perfect for tourists exploring the colonial era or locals like me and my family, who go here multiple times a year, and are regulars on Christmas eve. The shop is super cute as well so be sure to check that out before you leave.

The Miss Melinda special has to be the best value in town and packed with flavor. The dining room is much nicer than the Williamsburg taverns in the colonial area, with paneling from Carters Grove. But the pie is easily 12/10. The coconut custard is to die for, and the sweet potato today was perfection. The staff are also lovely, kind people. Service is fast, so don't be worried if there is a short wait at busy times. I've been eating here over 38 years. If you're considering trying this place, do it!

Cute, cottage gift shop and restaurant combo! The welcoming porch lures you in! This colonial house is full of lovely gifts and souvenirs, but it's really awkward and difficult to navigate. The aisles are narrow and if you are shopping, you can't help but walk by diners trying to enjoy their meals. Servers are traipsing through walkways with trays of food and it's quite a wonder there aren't more collisions in this tightly packed place. I'm sure the diners can't have a quiet, pleasant meal with people shopping all around them. Whoever designed the layout of this store wasn't thinking of the dining patrons. We did purchase several items, ornaments, jewelry, decorations etc. and the lines were long. One point of interest is the incredible teacup light fixture in the "lobby" in the middle of the store. It's pretty cool!! The restroom is located in an awkward little hallway near the kitchen and near the stairs so the line blocks the walkway and it gets congested in that area. The food is your typical country fare, with hearty breakfasts and lunches... the ham and the Brunswick stew are favorites here! So if you want a more subdued meal, I suggest coming off season, or not at regular meal times. I'd come back, but be sure to avoid the crowds!

The atmosphere here is delightful. I'm not sure it is in an actual old house, but it is well decorated to appear as one. Southern cuisine is the order of the day. I ordered Miss Melinda's Special. I upgraded from a cup to a bowel of Brunswick Stew and was glad I did. Accompanying the stew were two biscuits with tasty Virginia ham. Th meal began with what I will term a Southern Ladies' Salad, fruit and a leaf of lettuce with Mayonnaise dressing. A slice of for dessert pie is included. I really enjoyed the Brunswick stew. To one side of the restaurant is a gift shop with various food and gift items. I could see that there is a regular clientele of locals. Note that the restaurant only serves until 2:15 p.m.

Fun breakfast spot with great food! Wonderful biscuits and a friendly staff. Try the Red Beer it's a Bloody Mary with beer instead of vodka.

Berry Burrata 3/5 - Not my favorite, but still decent. Asian Chicken Wraps 3/5 - This was okay, just a little too saucy for me. Fried Green Tomatoes 5/5 - One of our favorites. The pimiento cheese paired perfectly with it. Carolina Burger 4/5 - Huge portion, and my son really enjoyed it. 2nd St Burger 4/5 - Another big portion and overall really good. When I got to the restaurant I asked if they had horse radish: no. Au jus: yes. I wanted a piece of Carrot cake but I thought $18 was exorbitant. I opted for the pecan pie instead. The online menu said they had some crispy chicken dinner... It was no longer part of the menu when I arrived to the restaurant.. My significant other is allergic to shellfish, and does not eat pork... There weren't a lot of entrée options for him because there was pork all over the place. I did order him some salmon since he could not get the chicken. He liked the salmon. The broccoli had no flavor on it. And the brown rice pilaf was equally Bland. The brisket sandwich was ...okay... but dipping it in French onion soup calling it onion jus.... It just pissed me off. I think the menu was overpriced for tourists. The staff seemed to be doing the best they could. I guess I'll continue my hunt for the best Friend dip in Williamsburg. I'm down here a lot.

So much to love about this new discovery besides the fact that it's NOT a Starbucks lol and for those that know me, you know I love and love to support and discover tucked away indie coffee places (see my reviews!). This place is also a roastery and sells their own bean blends. I don't know the history behind the shop and name but was told it is chemistry themed and owned by W&M alum - yassssss! Service is SUPER friendly and excellent so that's a bonus! I lovvvvvvve that the latte menu is chock full of super creative seasonal flavors - so many to choose from!! I stopped by twice while in town and staying just down the street. Had a hot Rose Macaron latte and the next day had the Lemon Bar. Both were DELICIOUS. NOT OVERLY SWEET BUT WITH SUBTLE FLAVORS AND BOLD ESPRESSO TASTE. NOTTTTTT WIMPY WEAK. Both days I had the OG Bacon Egg Cheese sando on an ET bagel that was a decent accompaniment to my seasonal lattes which were clearly the stars of the show. I was there during the week - once mid afternoon, the other day late morning and it was not crowded at all both days. The seating area is HUGE. 2 separate adjacent rooms - walk through the front ordering area and you'll find a large, super cozy and inviting "living room" type space with comfy couches, armchairs, dining tables with chairs and even cubes for studying. Dark and moody vibes. SUPER COZY, RELAXING AND KEPT VERY CLEAN AND TIDY. The other seating area has a bunch of tables and chairs, lots of windows, brighter and more conducive for gathering. I took and posted a bunch of pics and some vids so check them out. So glad to have discovered this coffee spot and gem! Will definitely be back when I visit Williamsburg again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
