I ordered the sausage and gravy combo with home fries. I liked that they asked if you wanted onions and peppers with the home fries, I said no. The sausage gravy was yummy, flavorful and a bit peppery which is how I like my sausage gravy. Biscuits were light and fluffy. All the staff were nice and attentive. Amazing staff, the food is amazing and fresh, clean, very cozy atmosphere. We love going here two times a weekend. Sizes for food are amazing portions. Nice ma and pop dinner with very friendly and efficient staff. I have been craving a good cheeseburger for sometime now and this burger hit the spot. Eggheads has fantastic service - the staff is always friendly and seems truly delighted to help. They have a dedicated following and the food isn't bad at all. The biggest problem with this restaurant is the physical condition of the building. The dining room is dark and God only knows how old the carpet is, or when the last time it was shampooed. Honestly, it's just a little bit gross in there, which seriously diminishes the dining experience. There's an old painted plywood structure separating the checkout area from the dining room which gives the general impression of dirtiness. This is a local business that I'd love to see do well. The place is almost always busy, so clearly, the dirt isn't a problem for lots of people. A little bit of effort could make this place amazing. read more

Eggheads was a nice surprise. We wound up in the unfamiliar (to us) area at lunch time on a weekday with no idea where to go, and found this place. Food was great (we all got breakfast food), and service was very friendly and efficient. The only knock I can give the place is that the interior really leaves something to be desired. It's like they took over an old department store and put tables in without doing any sort of renovation. It's clean...it just looks very temporary. Interior is nothing out of the ordinary, but clean. Staff was excellent at service. We arrived at 1:45 and they close at 2:00. They were more than pleasant and wanted us to stay. We weren't rushed out either. We ordered the Kitchen Sink omelette and the Shrimp and Grits. Both were very good and portions were adequate. If there was a downside, it was their biscuits. Went there for a late breakfast. It was busy, we stood for 10 minutes waiting to be seated. The hostess was rude and did not even look at us. It took forever to get anyone to take a drink order. This business is a victim of its own success. As a local favorite, people are accepting of an over busy, long wait, and short tempered staff. Our waitress was nice when she did come over, took our order, omelets, and toast, with homefries. She kept the drinks full, food, well It took a little bit. Time to get food from sit down to eating was 45 minutes. The food was tasty and hot. The seating was old, and springs in the chair were broken and sunk in. But it had a good local country feel. I really think I wouldn't go during an absolute rush. You can't go if you are in a hurry. The sheer volume of people trying to go is crazy. Good Sunday breakfast joint for the church crowd. I would avoid on weekends. We went on a Friday morning still busy-ish. 3 out of 5 due to the total visit for breakfast, taking 1 hour and 45 minutes. read more

The sausage gravy was pretty good and biscuits (I asked to have them grilled per the waitresses suggestion - good idea) were soft and fluffy. The scrambled eggs as a large portion. And even though they use pre-cut hashbrowns that are cubed they still fry them and they have a really good taste of them. Pancakes are about the normal size, but fluffy. Mac & cheese side is good. I truly have nothing negative to say! My family of 6 was warmly greeting as soon as we came in. The wait was reasonable, especially considering that we went during Sunday brunch hours. We got exactly what we expected at Eggheads Diner. Good breakfast food in a diner atmosphere for a reasonable price. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. I met no resistance when I asked to add tomatoes to the home fries, which came out perfectly crispy. The home fries accompanied my ham and cheese omelette that was cooked well, but could have been a little cheesier. My wives Eggheads Benedict had two perfect, over easy eggs in their version of the classic brunch item. The white gravy on top was smooth and flavorful. The food was good and the diner atmosphere did not disappoint. The booth seat was ripped and the table display explained the local favorite, boiled fish. Several regulars came in while we ate and they were all were greeted warmly by the hostess as they helped themselves to a seat. I am sure we will go back. I need to go with more of an appetite next time, because several of the breakfast items sound like they could satisfy a very hungry waterman. read more
