Fellow employee liked it here at Eggheads..so I tried it. Basic cheeseburger n fries with a coke. Service was average and the food was good. It seemed to take a bit long to get our food..which is fine. I'd rather have the food done right vs not cooked right. As long as the food is cooked right, not cold and tastes good. We have delicious breakfast at Egghead's diner. I love the pumpernickel marbled toast. I got the classic amaerica and Cole for the sweet and meat. Mine was the tradition 2 egg, 2 sausage patties, home fries and toast. Comes had 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, sausage patties and home fries. Both dishes were excellent. Service was also great. I ordered the biscuit and gravy, scrambled eggs, grits, and a piece of scrapple. The gravy was too thick, and I didn't really enjoy it. The scrambled eggs were okay, and the piece of scrapple was too large--maybe they should use a smaller loaf. Also, I tried their waffle, which was difficult to cut into and chewy, similar to mochi. Overall, the food is average. The ambiance was busy, and the place feels a bit outdated. The service, however, was excellent--very attentive and friendly. read more

I am always looking for great breakfast spots! This was such a good find. My spouse and I decided to go catch the sunrise and go for a nice walk in Yorktown, after which we decided to look for nearby places to go have breakfast. Jackpot! we loved this place. Great customer service, very nice people, and the food was awesome.. they were very attentive and the coffee nor the water ever ran out. They were on it. We can't wait to come back! read more

BEST DINER EVER! The staff are so sweet friendly and always kind and humble and and absolutely love it I feel welcomed and fast and the service is so amazing and fast and the FOOD IS SO SPECTACULAR always made fresh and healthy and full of joy and love and all decisions butter and i always come here with my mother in law and my firance and it the best for any meal and they deserve award and it is amazing and unbelievable and the diner hasn't changed since it opened in 1980 I think and it is so cute and relaxing and cozy family friendly environment and perfect for all ages and occasions and love coming here and will come here again and everything looks so yummy and I am full happy after i come out of the diner and I hope they donate their leftovers foods to the food bank and lots of fun and love it and absolutely love it and they deserve it award. Amazing staff, the food is amazing and fresh, clean, very cozy atmosphere. We love going here two times a weekend. Sizes for food are amazing portions. My personal favorite is their cinnamon roll waffle and pancakes. Owners are so nice and very involved with customers. We take out of towners here for breakfast at eggheads. read more

Nice ma and pop dinner with very friendly and efficient staff. I have been craving a good cheeseburger for sometime now and this burger hit the spot. You can see by the posted photos that most customers get, or at least post, breakfast items which is available anytime, in fact the whole menu is available during open hours (breakfast and lunch only). read more

Eggheads has fantastic service - the staff is always friendly and seems truly delighted to help. They have a dedicated following and the food isn't bad at all. The biggest problem with this restaurant is the physical condition of the building. The dining room is dark and God only knows how old the carpet is, or when the last time it was shampooed. Honestly, it's just a little bit gross in there, which seriously diminishes the dining experience. There's an old painted plywood structure separating the checkout area from the dining room which gives the general impression of dirtiness. This is a local business that I'd love to see do well. The place is almost always busy, so clearly, the dirt isn't a problem for lots of people. A little bit of effort could make this place amazing. read more

Eggheads was a nice surprise. We wound up in the unfamiliar (to us) area at lunch time on a weekday with no idea where to go, and found this place. Food was great (we all got breakfast food), and service was very friendly and efficient. The only knock I can give the place is that the interior really leaves something to be desired. It's like they took over an old department store and put tables in without doing any sort of renovation. It's clean...it just looks very temporary. So, don't be scared off by the interior when you go in. It's a nice place. read more

I decided to update my review because I've come back several times since being less than satisfied with my breakfast(western omelet in the first photo that had hardly anything in it). Today I tried the western omelet again and it was so much better! I usually get home fries with my breakfast, but we are trying to eat less carbs...so definitely recommend the home fries if you come for breakfast! Interior is nothing out of the ordinary, but clean. Staff was excellent at service. We arrived at 1:45 and they close at 2:00. They were more than pleasant and wanted us to stay. We weren't rushed out either. We ordered the Kitchen Sink omelette and the Shrimp and Grits. Both were very good and portions were adequate. If there was a downside, it was their biscuits. They weren't bad, just not as good as the rest of the food. Prices are reasonable as well. We will return and we will recommend to our friends. read more

Went there for a late breakfast. It was busy, we stood for 10 minutes waiting to be seated. The hostess was rude and did not even look at us. It took forever to get anyone to take a drink order. This business is a victim of its own success. As a local favorite, people are accepting of an over busy, long wait, and short tempered staff. Our waitress was nice when she did come over, took our order, omelets, and toast, with homefries. She kept the drinks full, food, well It took a little bit. Time to get food from sit down to eating was 45 minutes. The food was tasty and hot. The seating was old, and springs in the chair were broken and sunk in. But it had a good local country feel. I really think I wouldn't go during an absolute rush. You can't go if you are in a hurry. The sheer volume of people trying to go is crazy. Good Sunday breakfast joint for the church crowd. I would avoid on weekends. We went on a Friday morning still busy-ish. 3 out of 5 due to the total visit for breakfast, taking 1 hour and 45 minutes. read more

Food was good and sizes pretty large. Got sausage gravy & biscuits combo. The sausage gravy was pretty good and biscuits (I asked to have them grilled per the waitresses suggestion - good idea) were soft and fluffy. The scrambled eggs as a large portion. And even though they use pre-cut hashbrowns that are cubed they still fry them and they have a really good taste of them. Pancakes are about the normal size, but fluffy. Mac & cheese side is good. The only downside is the menu can be hard to read. Will go there again read more

I truly have nothing negative to say! My family of 6 was warmly greeting as soon as we came in. The wait was reasonable, especially considering that we went during Sunday brunch hours. The menu provided tons of breakfast and lunch options. I had French toast, crab quiche and country ham. It was DIVINE. Definitely the best breakfast I've had in a long while. This place is a local hidden gem! Great food, service and over all atmosphere. It's nice to see how the waitresses treat a lot of customers like they are right at home. Oh my gosh - WHAT A FIND! This place has both wonderful, hearty food and a sweet, small-town diner atmosphere with friendly staff and a nostalgic rural ambiance. Janet, our lovely waitress, was attentive and so warm; it honestly reminded me of eating in my Aunt's kitchen as a child, when you knew you were getting a serving of kindness right alongside your eggs. The Cowboy Omelet Bowl was fantastic! The steak was cooked so it was still juicy, not chewy. The cheese was melted in layers between the requested "extra crispy" potatoes and perfectly blackened peppers with extra sprinkled on top of the super yummy breakfast gravy My fiancé had the Reuben and wasn't as impressed, but was more than happy to have the other half of my breakfast. I have worked in restaurants and with the public for the past ten years or so. I enjoy making people happy and have wanted my own restaurant since I was a little girl. With the help and support of my wonderful family and friends, that dream came true. Eggheads is all that I had hoped for and more!! The employees and customers are our family, and we continue to grow and mature to meet our customers needs and suggestions. We are in this for life, and look forward to continuing the relationships made and forming new ones!!

Cara was the wonderful server who took care of us. She was always there ready for me to get my mum good & spoiled. Super friendly and very helpful. The buffet, it was impressive for a buffet and while not a big buffet, it was specialized. First up were 3 different kinds of salads, then a fruit platter, and bagels & cream cheese. They had a raw bar with shrimp & oysters next, then breakfast stuff (eggs, potatoes bacon etc) mac & cheese, garlic mashed taters & then a carving station with turkey, ham & lamb. Finally a small but respectful dessert table. If you couldn't find something to fill you, you weren't looking. The single sour note of the buffet was the salmon and Mac & cheese. When I found out they were having a set menu for Vday I called the week of and we were able to switch our reservations to Friday February 13th. I downloaded the InKiND app as well and they gave me a $50 off discount if you spend minimum $150. The open table app did have a $20 per person fee for reservations and that will be applied to the final bill. Our reservations were at 4pm and we arrived early and the parking area is ample with a parking garage and some street parking. We started walking to the restaurant at about 355pm. This time of the year seems to slower with ot being cold. Once inside we were greeted by the young ladies up front. We were offered a table or booth and we chose a table. We did sit at a table with the view of the water which was nice. Jason our server came over within seconds to pour us water and take our drink orders. We both wanted sweet tea with lemon. Since we knew ahead of time what we were ordering, we gave our appetizers orderes first. We ordered the soup of the day which was the she crab soup. It is highly recommended. We only ordered a cup and not a bowl because we were unsure of how it tasted. The Caesar salad had no anchovie flavor like we are use to and was just medicore. We ordered the meatballs which had lamb and pork in it. They were juicy, tender and just needed a little more seasoning. The Calamari was fried to perfection for me and could've used a pinch of salt. The sweet tea was everything and I would recommend it. For the main entrees, we chose the shrimp and scallop risotto and the beef braised Ragau. There were two scallops and four grilled shrimp and few asparagus with some chopped up bacon. This dish I highly recommend as well. The beef was tender, seasoned and pasta was cooked perfect. Overall, this is a nice and quiet place to dine at anytime. I would recommend and will definitely return again. Jason was on point with his promptness.

For a seafood item that supposedly sold fresh, I would expect at least a little bit of knowledge... like if the oysters are local, when they were harvested, etc. I also thought the oysters were extremely small. 2. The short rib linguini was flavorless. The short rib was overcooked and it was basically served on top of the linguini. It didn't feel like the linguini was cooked with the sauce. I was not a fan. The only pro about this place is the waterfront view. I would not recommend it for its food at all.

The staff at the counter is always so patient with all of my food inquiries and coffee requests... even when they're busy! Last visit, I had the Mobjack Reuben Panini... I wasn't expecting such food quality for a coffee spot! Also, one of the kitchen staff stopped by my table to answer questions I'd asked him about the building and Mobjack. We had a nice chat, which I appreciated since he was headed out after his shift. Beautiful spot. Mobjack also provides their employees with a generous and quality portion of the cafe/house quartered off just for their use. That is nice to see.
