I spent 15 minutes on their website putting the perfect food order together. Their website is trash, designed by an amateur. The categories are clunky. There is no pricing listed until you're like 3 clicks deep. Total trash. Once I got to my cart, put in my credit card details, I click pay and nothing. No error message, no request for more information, no we closed, something I forgot, nothing. It just didn't work. They wasted my time and I will never try to order online. This is your typical BBQ joint. You order at the counter, pay, pick up your own food, and clean your table once you are done. I ordered combo #3 (ribs and brisket). The ribs were decent and the brisket was extremely lean. I like the vinegar BBQ sauce and sweet BBQ sauce that came with the tray. The collard greens and mac were the stars of the show. Back in Chamblee for dinner at a spot that feels like it has anchored the neighborhood for decades. As soon as I stepped out of the car, the scent of slow-cooked meat drifted through the air and I knew I was in for something special. I went with the brisket, cole slaw, and collards. Skipped the bread. The brisket was tender and flavorful, not oversized and not greasy. Every bite had depth and richness, and it was so soft I could slice it with the edge of the plastic fork. It practically dissolved. Even at 6pm, the cole slaw held its crunch and had a touch of sweetness that balanced the plate. Food: 3/5 I personally felt like the ribs were dry and the outside was hard. Inside meat was a little softer but I'm not kidding when I say that at times it felt like I was eating beef jerky. Sweet sauce is good though and so is the mac and cheese! I loved getting to pick 2 sides (can swap the brunswick stew for another side). I did double mac and have 0 regrets, I looove mac n cheese Service: 5/5 I ordered a handful of things to-go and they had my order ready right on time! They labeled everyone's order exactly as I had asked, and everyone's order was neatly packaged and included all that was needed (utensils, napkins, bread, sauce on side). I've been here before like 3'yrs ago in person. At the time I tried the bbq chicken it was okay. It's been so long ago. At the time I'm not sure if brisket was available or on a certain day. I got my food through Uber Eats and I got the brisket plate. It says that the brisket is cooked for 22 hrs. I can taste the seasoning on it. I like it the fat on it tastes good also. I knew that it was going to be delicious when I saw it in the butcher paper iykyk. That is great sign not a red flag. Also the sauce is boss. The sides are alright Mac and cheese and potato salad. The place is great and I don't wanna even leave a bad mark. But beware. Do not pay for the after thought hotdog unless your child is demanding it. $10 dog, comes out and it's the size of my middle finger. I just paid for more than whole pack of Hebrew nationals smallest dogs ever. Owners: get a big honker dog for the adults $10 will cover it trust me. You have a bbq joint for goodness sake. Is your idea of BBQ what you get from a Piccadilly? Seriously! OK, folks. I got a sandwich, the macaroni and cheese, and the peach cobbler. It was all ready before I had a chance to settle into my wait for the carryout. That was either gonna be a GOOD sign or a bad one. Unfortunately, it was the latter. The chicken sandwich was a dry as a nekkid corn cob in the Sahara! How is this possible? The chicken bits were drenched in black pepper and hard; some pieces were clearly from a previous week.The sweet sauce on the side had clumps. The bun was literally straight out of the Sunbeam bag. No heat, no butter. Nothing. If you've ever had a tortilla straight out of the bag, you know what I'm talking about! That "raw" taste! The mac had a brick, yes, I said brick of concealed cheddar that never melted all the way. And it wasn't on top. It was off to the side, like someone said, "oh yeah, here stick this brick in there so that it looks like macaroni AND cheese." It's was GROSS. Overcooked noodles with a white coating laced with nutmeg. Blech! The peach cobbler was the only thing I'd consider freshly made, but it was gummy and had NO taste. If the nutmeg from the macaroni had been applied to the cobbler instead, it would have helped. I didn't detect ANY vanilla nor butter. It LOOKED good, and it was warm, and that's it! This is one of my go to barbecue places! My family started bringing me here shortly after they opened and it's amazing that they are still around, but not surprising because of their delicious food! Tonight I had the chopped pork combination plate, which was plenty of food for a great price. I tried the collard greens this time which were really good and had a little bit of a sweet flavor as well and I had some of the pepper sauce to them which made them even better! The restaurant is always very clean and tidy and they had a big renovation several years ago. The staff is also friendly and inviting. There are a couple of boots that the vinyl has ripped and can use some attention, but other than that the place is in great shape. This is a great spot to come grab lunch, and when the weather is nice, they have a covered patio to sit outside as well. read more

been dreaming of this place for 3 months! We go after Dr appts because we are close. Today we had the combo plates 2 ribs, pulled pork, slaw, stew, and 2 pcs of white bread for $14.50 plus a tea for $3.50. Worth every penny! First time getting the ribs and oh my goodness they are FANTASTIC! The stew and slaw are exceptional and of course the pulled pork is delicious. Service is always wonderful bc the people are happy! It has been there at least 45 years and still going strong bc at noon it was packed so we left to go vote and got back about 1:15 still hopping but we got a parking spot and served within 10 minutes! Love it. This has become my "go to" BBQ place. I have eaten here several times now and tried a few other bbq spots in the area and this is the best easily. This is a classic Georgia bbq spot with indoor and outdoor seating and a fairly limited menu. Don't come here if you don't want bbq. They have pork, ribs, and chicken. Don't expect vegan options. The sauce is a peppery vinegar South Georgia style sauce, no molasses or brown sugar in this sauce. The meat comes nicely smoked and pulled with just a splash of sauce and more sauce on the side. My first couple trips here I stuck with pulled pork and it was good. But now that I have tried the ribs there will be no going back. The ribs are excellent and what put them over the top to 5 stars for me. Alone I would give the pulled pork a solid 4 stars. The stew is good, not perfect, but again a solid 4 out of 5. But those ribs are 5+ all day long. The combination plate is the most expensive thing on the menu at $13.50 and worth every penny. The portions are large. They have sandwiches if you don't want a plate and they are only $3.25. They do serve some adult beverages, but this is no micro brewery pretending to serve bbq, this is real barbecue in the best of Georgia tradition. The only suggestion I could add for the owners is that many bbq places I have visited in south and central Georgia offer a house salad that often comes with a pile of pulled pork on it honestly I would probably never order this, I will stick with the ribs. But I do know people who might. I highly recommend the Old Brick Pit. Enjoy! read more

This is the last entrant on Southern Living's 2019 roster of the top 50 BBQ restaurants in the South, and well worth a visit. At lunch, $19.60 purchased a 3 rib plate with sides of mac 'n cheese and Brunswick stew, a large banana pudding, and a can of Diet Coke. The stew combined a soupy texture with the classic, slightly peppery flavor profile. Yum! Alas, the mac 'n cheese offered no surprise, except that it was barely warm. Ah, but the ribs are beautifully prepared, with a slightly sweet rub that seals the moisture into meat that separates cleanly at the bite. The pudding features wafers, pudding and bananas, but no whipped cream. Still, it's not overly sweet, so it does make for a nice finish to a pretty good lunch. read more
