I don't generally write a lot of reviews, but I'd be remiss if I didn't commend the staff at Olas publicly! The school is absolutely incredible, and my wife and I feel so grateful we found it for our 2 year old son. He has been attending twice a week for about ten months, and we are astonished by how much he has learned in this short time. Each day he surprises us with new usage of the Spanish language...from numbers, to the alphabet, to colors, to days of the week, to fun songs which he adores singing. He gets so excited on the days he attends, which really warms our hearts, and on the days he doesn't go, he talks about his teachers and friends there. I would give Olas 100 out of 100 stars if I could! Thanks so much for everything you all do, and we look forward to entrusting Olas with our son's development for years to come! read more

Wow - this little school is amazing. My 6 year old had not been to school all year (pandemic concerns) and we just enrolled her at Olas and she is thriving. We feel super safe there and my kid who knows no Spanish is loving it. The teachers are so sweet and fun, the school grounds are adorable, and we just love how happy our kid is to go to school. It's been a total dream. The teachers are super flexible and accommodating to our needs and it's just a super cute community. I've always loved language and I majored in Spanish in college. I had tried other Spanish tutors, but had never found the advanced classes that I was looking for. I found Olas online and I could tell from reviews that their children's program was excellent and was eager to see what their adult classes were like. I gave them a shot several years ago and have never looked back. Eduardo and Mara are professional, organized, fun, and caring. My skills and love for Spanish continue to increase and these classes add so much more value to my life than what they cost. My girls (8&9) have been attending Olas 1xwk for a couple years now. I also took the adult class for "semester". They are kind, welcoming and give great care to their students while also teaching spanish. I was worried my 9yo was aging out of their wonderful program but they are expanding to include middle and HS level spanish classes. This is such a great option for any level speaker. Our two girls have attended Olas for 3 years & 2 years respectively. We are transitioning them to a dual-language kindergarten & pre-K in the fall so we've decided to finally "graduate" them from Olas. The teachers at Olas are all great & we've completely enjoyed our time there. I have, & will continue to recommend Olas to parents looking to get their kids speaking Spanish. I've never had any concerns with safety or security at Olas...not once. They have an easy billing process & are flexible with make-up classes as well. Our girls love it, too. We started our kids at Olas when they were 4 & 2 years old. The teachers were absolutely fabulous and so amazing with our kids. Our daughter has been attending Olas Spanish School for about a year. Mara Vidal's classes are a lot of fun and a very effective way of teaching Spanish. Mara engages the kids in all sorts of activities, songs, and games. Her teaching style is very energetic and friendly, while maintaining a strict policy of only Spanish in the class. Kids find themselves speaking and writing Spanish before they know it! Mara is a rare teacher with a lot of passion and energy. The kids in her class adore her; our daughter looks forward to the two afternoon Spanish classes. We are fortunate that friends of ours referred us to Mara. My son started attending Olas Spanish School last year. He was 4. After a month taking classes with Mara Vidal, I saw a great improvement in his Spanish skills. Mara has a fantastic approach to teach Spanish. She is energetic, fun and teaches their students with passion. I looked for a Spanish class for my children for a long time before joining Olas Spanish School. I chose Olas because is definitely the best Spanish School in town. My son, after one year of weekly classes, can read and write in Spanish. I currently enrolled my 18 month girl as well. Olas has high expectations, teaches through engaging activities, and has powerful results. My two children, ages 5 and 10, both enjoyed practicing and improving their Spanish with Mara and the other teachers. Olas Spanish Immersion has been the best experience for both our boys from 2.5-4.5 yrs of age. The teachers are loving, kind, and make learning Spanish fun! It has also helped prepare them for Magellan International School, as we (parents) speak English almost exclusively at home. I would have loved the opportunity to attend Olas as a child! read more

There is no better Spanish immersion program for toddlers in the Austin area! We enrolled our son in the Spanish immersion program last August and couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Mara and the excellent team of teachers at Olas (Andrea and Yomaira) are all loving, patient, energetic and engaging. Not only is my son entertained in a safe environment, but he has also learned a great amount in a short time. My 2 year old recognizes the numbers up to 20 and the entire alphabet in Spanish; he is able to recite the months of the year, the days of the week and knows multiple songs and rhymes in Spanish. The teachers have developed a great curriculum and know how to reinforce the language skills in an age appropriate manner. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who is looking for a Spanish immersion program for pre-school age children. read more

Small class size, great personal connection between child and teacher, Montessori style approach to learning, flexible scheduling, and I haven't even yet mentioned that it is a Spanish Immersion school too! All these features combined has made it an obvious choice for us. I am a stay at home mom to a very bright but shy and introverted three year old girl. As a bilingual mom with Spanish as a second language, I have always spoken to my daughter in both English and Spanish. However, towards the end of her second year, she was refusing to speak Spanish and no longer wanted me to read or speak to her in Spanish. In April, soon after my daughter turned three, we met with Ms. Mara, Director and Owner of Olas Spanish Immersion School. She made my daughter feel very comfortable and formed an immediate bond. The small class size, the numerous activities, and the two hour class slot was perfect for my daughter. Soon, she began speaking Spanish again with more confidence and with enjoyment. She looks forward to going to class to see Ms. Mara and the other teachers and she has a sense of pride knowing that she and I and others can converse in more than one language. The other advantage to Olas Spanish Immersion School is that it also works closely with a Chinese language program housed in the same building. They transfer children from one program to the other during the day seamlessly as if it were all under the same program. read more

We love Olas! Our daughter started at Olas when she was two and a half-- she is three now and has learned so much Spanish! I am very impressed. Plus, she loves it. She is always so excited to see Miss Mara and Miss Andrea--the singing and games that they introduce the kids to in class really seem to keep the kids interested! We love Olas! I am not exactly sure how they do it but they are so efficient in teaching Spanish in a short amount of time. I love all the songs in Spanish my daughter comes home singing. The ratios of children to teacher are very low so that is a huge plus! read more

My daughter has moved on to preschool so I feel like I can write an honest review. Honestly, sending her to Olas is likely the best parenting decision I've made and the best money I've invested in my child so far. She loved going to Olas and we saw results! What more can you ask for? These ladies know what they're doing. They know how to teach young children and they also know how to take care of them and make them feel special. When we went through a period of difficult drop-offs, they contacted me to help find a solution. The entire operation is efficient, but the experience feels personal. My daughter will continue with Spanish immersion and she has quite a nice head start. The only reason we left is because I need a full-time preschool to accommodate my job. Olas has been the most amazing find for our family. My daughter started going to Olas at just 18 months old. We started her just 2 hours a week, and slowly increased to 12 hours a week as she got older. She will be moving on to PreK after this summer. She is 3.5 and I can honestly say she is bilingual. She fully understands everything in Spanish. Her comprehension is amazing. Her pronunciation is beautiful, and all this with just 12 hours a week of classes. She basically learned English and Spanish at the same time seamlessly at Olas. The teachers a top notch! There were many times my daughter had a rough time going to school, or was having some separation anxiety, and the teachers were able to help her through it. They are the most LOVING and kinda people you will ever meet. The school is just filled with so much love and happiness, and you feel it the moment you walk in. My son started going there as well a few times a week and during the summers. Unfortunately, I didn't discover Olas until after my daughter was born. However, in the short amount of time he attended his Spanish improved tremendously. Even though he goes to Magellan now, we still use Olas during the summer for camps and classes to reinforce his Spanish during the summer months. I cannot say enough good things about Olas. It is, hands down, the best Spanish Immersion school in Austin. read more
