While Okko Hotels in Cannes offers nice amenities, the rooms were very small and awkwardly designed. For example, it is extremely tight to get to the side of the bed against the wall, and the bathroom wall protrudes out, making the room feel even smaller than it is. Very limited space for large luggage and the floor (carpet) and cloth covered shelving around the room felt dirty.
Again, they have nice amenities so if you won't be spending too much time in your room, this hotel will do. They have complimentary coffee, pastries, and fruit throughout the day. They also offer a breakfast in the mornings but it is not included in your room rate. There is a nice rooftop patio where we spent most of our time in the hotel when we weren't in the room. Unfortunately, they don't let you drink your own wine out on the patio so we had to bring it back to our room.
If you are arriving or departing Cannes by the train station, the biggest upside of this hotel is that it is literally right next to the train station. There's also a Starbucks near the entrance and several bakeries across the street.
Out of the four hotels we stayed at in France, Okkos was the most disappointing but it was also the most affordable. Cannes is also a relatively smaller city compared to Nice or France, so we had a lot more time to relax at our hotel. Looking back, I probably would have paid for a nicer hotel knowing we would want to spend more time in our room, especially in a city like Cannes read more
