Stayed April 2024. Great location and rooftop views of the Mediterranean. Staff were very friendly, spoke English and treated me like a valued Bonvoy Member. Got a very nice upgrade to a suite with a small balcony and partial Sea view. Very noisy street side. Used the valet services bc the rental car was SUV and the garage was a tight turn. The restaurant staff were always attentive and just enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. Overall the room was a bit dated, but the large marble bathroom with separate sinks and shower and bathtub were luxurious. Balmain products. Bed was very comfortable and a true king. Thank you JW Marriott for everything. I highly recommend this hotel for a beautiful vacation experience.

This hotel is gorgeous. We loved one of our rooms here. Unfortunately they didn't give us a balcony in that we paid for in the other room. But it was clean and the people were lovely. The breakfast was incredible!

We had a 2-day business meeting for 25 senior managers, and moved it to Cannes JW Marriott with 6 weeks notice. Excellent accommodation for the business meeting. All was set up as promised (PC, display screen, room, flipcharts), and the hotel flexibly made some last minute adjustments after we inspected the set-up on the day before the meeting. Meals and break refreshments were provided on time and of decent quality, and the hotel was flexible to late starts on the breaks on the occasions when we ran late. Hotel guest rooms were fine, with black and white photos of movie stars. We had one dinner at the outdoor patio of the hotel. Food and service was fine. Hotel location is across the boulevard from the waterfront, within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, and the train station.

At 5:30 am a maintenance man walked into my room. The hotel told me the computer showed no one checked into my room and they permitted the hotel worker to enter. As I woke up completely terrified I ran to the door (only wearing a sports bra and underwear) and yelled for them to get out while yelling at the front desk for help. The hotel had no answer just that it was a computer situation. Being a female who travels often I always take extra precautions. As this hotel does not have a chain lock I activated the privacy knob, the internal lock (this can be overridden by hotel employee keys). This scared me so much that I was shaking after. Because this was such a scary situation I spoke to the General Manager (Ziad Atrissi) and reached out to global office and still no sense of urgency....they just told me that they are looking into it. Its been over a week, I still haven't heard anything... If this wasn't horrific enough I came back to my room that next afternoon and the door inside of my room that connects to the room next to mine was open (my door and their door were open) allowing the room next to me full access to my room with all my belongings. The hotel staff told me "SO sorry we are really busy." This should never happen in any room. But can you believe that this happened in a suite, room 142 overlooking la Croisette. Beware if you stay here! I waited over a week to post this so I would be calm while writing. I wanted to post the facts and not just an emotionally rant. As you can image I was very upset and more so I felt violated and vulnerable.

We checked in the last day of the film festival to an ocean front room. Little did we know that the best amenities for this hotel would be unavailable to us as they were closed for their "special " guests. We were not advised in advance nor were there any apologies. This included the pool and their roof top restaurant and bar. We had to go to the beach across the street at a cost of 55 euros per person. No vouchers were offered. The ocean front room as well as the lobby were beautiful as the hotel has been recently renovated but the room was so noisy at night from the music at the beach that we could not sleep. We had to change rooms to a quieter one but nothing was done in the way of restitution for our inconvenience. The balcony was a joke with just one lonely seat. There are no USB ports or a converter in the room. The product on the coffee caddy was stale and never replenished. The desk help were not rude but certainly not helpful nor trained well. The prices are five star but the hotel is a two. I would not recommend it.

The "garden" view room, which really is a view of another building.

We got rooms through points but we still ended up spending quite a bit of money at this hotel and thought we should've gotten better service. The service is sub par. They made mistakes with bills, minibar had technical difficulties and cleaning staff would walk in even though we had the busy sign outside. Most of the staff were not hospitable and unprofessional. The concierge was quite helpful but that was about it.

The stay itself was wonderful! The first Front Desk associate we had - Margaux Brunie- was perfect. We had taken an overnight train from Paris to Cannes and checked in before most people had checked out. I did not expect to have a room ready, but Margaux did everything she could to expedite the process. She sat us down for a leisurely and delicious breakfast and by the time we were finished, there was a room ready. Her overall demeanor and customer service skills were impeccable. The room was gorgeous and the balcony overlooking the sea made us feel completely immersed in the South of France. I can't say enough about the location of the hotel; it exceed all expectations. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and elegant. Because we were in Cannes the week before the film festival, there was no lounge or pool access. At first, the concierge told us we would get vouchers for beach chairs across the road, but when we inquired we were told that wasn't the case. Stuck in Cannes with no pool or beach? Not ideal. The next day we were given vouchers, but there should be a consistent policy across all members of staff. The daily breakfast buffet was superb. Fruits, yogurt, breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, and hot items with coffee, fresh-squeezed juice, regular or sparkling water made for an ideal start to the day. Staff members in the dining room were courteous and professional. I would not hesitate to stay at the JW Marriott in Cannes the next time I'm in town. Thank you for your hospitality!

Disappointing Health & Hygiene Failure -- Management Refused to Address Medical Costs!…read more We chose the Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes for its reputation for impeccable luxury and service during our multi-week, exclusively five-star European trip (09/22/25-10/10/25). Unfortunately, our stay was severely marred by a serious health and hygiene issue, which was then compounded by a deeply unsatisfactory response from management. On morning of Oct 4th 2025 my wife, Kelly , suffered multiple insect bites of unknown origin while sleeping in the bedding of our room number 724. The bites were serious enough to cause significant distress, lost sleep, and required immediate medical attention. The hotel arranged for a physician to visit, who confirmed the presence of insect bites and prescribed a course of strong medication, including Ivermectin (an antiparasitic drug), along with topical Cortisone. This required us to pay for the medical consultation and prescription out-of-pocket, expenses we would not have incurred otherwise. While the Guest Relations team did facilitate a room change, the General Manager, Mr. Charles Richez, later formally refused all requests for compensation, including reimbursement for the required medical expenses. The GM cited a lack of "conclusive evidence" (despite the documented physician's report and strong prescriptions) and offered a vague, future-use complimentary upgrade instead of resolving the current financial and physical harm. For a hotel that prides itself on luxury, this failure is unacceptable. The issue is not just the presence of a biting insect that caused physical distress, but the complete failure of the General Manager to take accountability and resolve the tangible out-of-pocket costs resulting from a health hazard on their property. I invite all future guests before choosing to stay at this hotel, to take a look at the pics taken on 10/04 and 10/07/2025 to decide themself what it looks like! Do you really want to take this risk for yourself and your family? Prospective guests should be aware that if a serious issue arises, management prioritizes denying financial liability over supporting their high-value clientele.

Staff was professional and helpful, breakfast was expensive but worth it. Had an issue one day with not getting neither housekeeping nor turndown service, which in the July heat is more than frustrating when you're lacking clean towels without sand from the beach on them for the next day. Asked the staff if we could have housekeeping when we noticed we hadn't gotten turndown either, but sadly it was too late at night. We went to the hotel lobby bar, where suddenly the hotel manager came and apologized and offered us complimentary champagne, and we discovered the next day the housekeeper had left us a letter of apology and some chocolate boxes for our inconvenience. They absolutely more than redeemed themselves, which says a lot about the level of customer service. I am definitely staying here the next time I'm visiting Cannes.

HOWEVER, I recently went to Cannes and was amaaazed by this cute little villa-hotel and I feel it my unicorn duty to let the whole world know the magic of this place! When picturing Cannes, you imagine glamorous people chic-ishly cat-walking down the sparkling cote-d'azure runway-sidewalks wearing the latest garments newly created by the best fashinistas in the universe! Or you might picture an international gathering of film lovers discussing the latest indie film which they are SURE you've never heard of before. Amidst the fame stricken coast, you might imagine having to pay for accommodations with either your first born child or through precious gems yet to be discovered in the Himalayas. But wait.... How will you afford all the 30 EUR martinis while you're out dancing and trying to hook up with up and coming movie stars?? I wasn't able to justify paying for a hotel with golden bars, so I decided to free style my visit. Realistically there were three options: 1. Find someone rich to shag and sleep at their place 2. Get super wasted and "fall asleep" somewhere on the beach 3. Hope the travel gods favor me that day and find a random place to stay. Although #1 and #2 could have easily happened, while walking through the city that day, a ray of sunshine landed upon an establishment. I felt as if nothing else was visible and I was slowly being sucked in by this quaint and charming location. Where am I?? I thought.... And before I knew it, I realized I was in the Chanteclair. Oh the Chanteclair - I hope no one finds you so you can be all mine whenever I want to Cannes it up again. With your 15 well-kept rooms, each with their own style and design, I feel like I can be charmed by your sweet French je ne sais quoi 15 times. Suddenly I woke up from my dream and realized that a surely a place like this would charge me 1 liver and 6.8 fingers. But to my surprise, the rates were NOT going to drain my bank account! As soon as I realized I CANNES stay in this beautifully magical lodge in the middle of the city, I booked and never looked back. There is NO WAY I would stay anywhere else and the two guys that run this place are nothing short of completely hospitable and jolly unicorns!! The room I booked was advertised with air conditioning, yet the temperature soared to 80 degrees Fahrenheit (26 degrees Celsius), making it extremely uncomfortable. Despite the unbearable heat, the staff was unhelpful and outright refused to offer any meaningful accommodation or a refund. Upon check-in, I was initially offered a room overlooking the atrium where guests have breakfast, which I refused due to privacy concerns. The response from the manager, Arnaud, was incredibly unprofessional, informing me that I was out of luck and even threatening to call the police over the room dispute. The rooms were not only small but also poorly decorated. Not to mention the room I was assigned #227 had an awful bathroom door. The door slammed shut and the door knob smashed me in the arm leaving a severe black and blue mark (see attached Photo). Despite its prime location, the overall experience was a nightmare. The hotel itself felt outdated and poorly maintained, with a dark, unwelcoming lobby that resembled a dungeon, and a pool that looked nothing like the advertised photos. I am suing this hotel and will find a way to get my money back! If they cant pay me back, then they can pay for the litigation costs which will be well over the $500 I am deserved as a refund.
