If you come here for dinner on Thursday nights because Sushi is half off, you can probably expect to wait an hour+ for your food to come out (this has happened to us on 2 occasions thus far)... I'd suggest coming in for lunch for possibly having less of a wait (usually works better for us). We also had a new server (Hispanic fellow) who did mess up my order as he did not write it down apparently and then it took us a bit to figure out which sushi roll we were missing because the servers never explain which sushi roll is which when they bring it out. I do feel the quality of the food has possibly been falling a bit downhill.. really hope things improve because we like coming here. read more

Sitting at a table now. They have 50% off roll specials Wednesday and Thursday with purchase of a drink. Totally worth it! Sat down at 530pm and sushi side is full. Lots of parents with kids. Surprised. Pretty fresh. Would Def come back again. Modern ambiance. Eddie was on point with service and refills...and we were able to take our leftovers home. Would give 5 stars but service was a bit slow. The waitress took my friends coke away and never brought it back. We had to ask another waiter to get our waitress to come to our table to order. ..and now waiting a long time for a check to come to the table after asking for it. The hibachi side was not as busy. I love this place. The decor is cool and the staff are awesome. The sushi is really good. While the price is a little bit expensive they make up for it by having half priced sushi on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I love to celebrate birthdays and girls hangout days. Best part if you have someone in you're party that doesn't like sushi they have a hibachi and the portions are really good for the price. One of the best places in Winchester for sushi. read more

The chef was great! He was engaging and was a lot of fun. The food however left a lot to be desired. Everything was doused in sauces. We could feel our ankles swell from the sodium level. When we sat down we heard the couple at the table next to ours complaining about the food being too salty to eat. We should have heeded the warning. The dressing on the salad was less than tasty. It was almost like mustard. I like that on my hot dogs, not my hibachi. We won't even touch on the MSG situation. Worst of all....they didn't have chicken livers!!! What?! Absolutely rude service from the moment we were seated. Our server seemed annoyed and very short with me, took our order and then completely ignored us for the next 40 minutes we were there. Our miso soup was barely lukewarm. The sushi was excellent--so after leaving $0 tip on a $52 bill (which honestly, I don't think I have ever done!) I walked up to the two sushi chefs and handed them $10 and told them I appreciated their art. The vanishing server somehow appeared, saw this exchange, and gave me a frown. Really great sushi. Hibachi is always entertaining as well. If you enjoy regular Asian fare I recommend the pineapple rice. Meal presentation is also always really unique and really makes the meal that much better. Service at times leaves something to be desired, but the food has always made up for it. Fairly nice atmosphere as well in both the hibachi and regular seating areas. Have been many times and always look forward to going back. read more

My family of 5 ate at the hibachi. One couple came in just after us and was seated with us, but it didn't slow down service at all and it was fun to share the experience with others. Servers were very quick to take orders and brought out drinks, soup, and salad all quickly. Just as we finished that the chef came out. No long waiting. Chef was fun and silly as is common at a hibachi. He interacted with everyone at the table and kept us all entertained. The food was delicious. Portions were huge, even for the kids. Throughout the meal the servers checked on us and we're quick to offer refills or anything else. Overall a great experience. I will be coming back again. read more

This place is usually terrible. I've had rude service almost every time I've been here. I had them argue with me once when I was seating in the lunch area instead of Hibachi. I said I wanted Hibachi and was seated over in the lunch area, I then stated "I'm sorry, we wanted to eat hibachi". The server grabbed our menus and stated "You should've said that". I mean really? It was over one thing so small. I've had servers just never come back to our table again and just have an attitude the whole time. The sushi chefs are fine and the hibachi chefs are fine. I'm not sure what is up the servers asses or the owners. I also see them argue with people often on Facebook. Just avoid this place. Awabi and Mr. Noodle are waaaay better and friendly. read more

Absolutely terrible restaurant! My experience there by far tops every bad experience I've ever had at any restaurant ever and I never one to complain! I took my daughter there to treat her since she had been begging me to go to hibachi so we chose to go there. We were seated at the hibachi table and ordered our food and were served our soup and salad and 30 minutes went by after we ate our soup and salad and still they hadn't come out to cook our food, then after about 45 minutes of waiting they seated a group of 6 with us, which we don't mind and expected that but not after 45 minutes of waiting after we ordered! It's like they wouldn't cook for us until more ppl came no matter how long that took like we were an inconvenience for them since we were only a party of two. When we were first sat we saw a party of two alone at a different table and shortly after watched a cook roll up and cook for them and they didn't make them wait and sit us there. But they did that to us. To make everything worse, the party of 6 ordered only 3 meals and told them them they were all going to share the 3 meals together and when asked if they wanted to pay for extra rice for all of them they said no. Then the cook came and cooked the meal and gave the party of 6 each 6 plates full of double the amount of food that we were given since we got served last! I couldn't believe it, we got served less than half the amount of rice as each of the 6 got and even worst when it came to the vegetables we got the bottom scraps of nothing and the worst pieces, not even a single carrot or broccoli piece the most pathetic thing I've ever experienced! I was so furious especially because they shared meals and we vowed to pay for meals for each of us and had to pay for the full price meals when we got less than half the full meal we had to pay for and the party althat shared and refused to pay extra for more rice got all full meals and extra rice at half price! Never been treated and dumbed on so hard at a restaurant in my life! Not to mention the food tasted awful and was far too saturated in sauce it was almost too salty to even consume! Even the other party who we got shit on from complained about the over salty sauced shit food. Atleast they only had to pay half price and got all full priced meals when we got half the food and the shit bottom barrel and had to pay full price! Sushi Rolls are very small and the fish isnt as fresh as other local sushi restaurants. You can be the only group in the resturant at the time and the staff will still rush you out of the place right after recieving your food. Its not the worst resturant I've ever eaten at; however, it far from the best sushi place in Winchester. read more

This is my favorite place to get sushi! We try to get there earlier (3 or 4) on half price sushi nights and it's great every time! We made the mistake of going later once (6:30) and that was a bad decision, but o not because there were soooo many people there, this was no fault to the restaurant at all. A one star... it takes a lot for me to even contemplate rating anything as a one star. To be honest it would have been a zero, but thier saving grace was their bartender whom was also filling the role as hostess. She was the nicest employee in the entire restaurant. She was very sweet when my wife, daughter and I arrived. We arrived around 9:20 and confirmed that they we staying open until 11:00 PM; the stated closing time. She assured us that she would love for us to dine with them despite it being a slow night and reluctantly we accepted and were seated. Once we were seated the entire evening went to hell, within a minute the server was there to take our drink order that was great except for her horrible attitude. She seemed very annoyed that we didn't know what we wanted to eat yet. Granted we hadn't even opened the menus yet. She comes back with our drink order moments later and then is viable angry that we only placed an order for a appetizer and did not place our main order yet. At this point we may have been seated for maybe 8 minutes, after making our rushed decisions we placed our order with our waitress that was extremely rude and short with my wife. Okay so now I'm just as annoyed as the waitress. So after a couple minutes our appetizers arrive. The waitress starts to get flustered and just tosses the food at the edge of the table with no response when see is thanked. The waitress now walking away is sighing viable annoyed that we are there. Now our main course begins to arrive, my wife's food shows up about 5 minutes prior to my daughters or mine. Once my daughter's and my food arrives the waitress again piles the food at the edge of the table once she runs out of room at the end of the table she hand me a bowl of rice, before I can even sit the bowl down she is now shoving another bowl of rice at me. (The entire rest of the table is empty and there is plenty of room for her to serve us). At this point I'm just pissed, there is no excusing our waitresses attitude. I decided at this point we will get boxes and eat at home because this is the worst restaurant experience that I have experienced in many years. We now wait almost 20 minutes for the requested boxes which are provide by someone whom seemed to be manager. He was just as unpleasant and annoyed, at this point my blood is boiling and I want nothing more then to tell the manager that his restaurant is a joke. My wife and I our trying our best to be a good example for our daughter so we tip the server her 15% and leave (I NEVER tip only 15%). In conclusion the only person worth your time in this restaurant is the bartered who personally brought my wife both of her drinks since our waitress certainly couldn't be bothered. The waitress was extremely rude to my wife the entire time and would not even acknowledge my 10 year old daughter. Do not waste your money at restaurant. The absolute worst place in Winchester. Don't let their visually appealing exterior lure you into the horrible service awaiting you inside. FYI: I created a yelp account because of this poor service. I am a local of winchester and have tried just about every sushi place in the area and must say this is the worst one yet if you are looking for decent priced food in a timely manor. We waited over a hour for four rolls of sushi that was take out. Never have I seen it take that long for sushi. The business needs to take control of their under staff issue and address the customers with knowledge that it will take forever to pick up their food. On the other hand, if your willing to wait around for a while the decor is nice in the inside and their drinks look good! read more

The service is attentive and its nice to come here on a budget to celebrate anything. They have an option where you can share a meal for a $5 additional charge and that's plenty with an appetizer. On the way back from Harrisonburg, VA we decided to stop here for dinner after I saw the great reviews and we weren't disappointed! We decided to sit at the sushi bar as we were both craving sushi! We were treated first with an awesome dish of peppercorn seared tuna with avocado which was AMAZING! We order the Philly roll, the Cali roll and the Boston roll. We asked our server her favorite roll which was the Hidden Dragon. That roll had shrimp tempura, spicy tuna and cucumber topped with spicy crab meat, in a word SPECTACULAR!!! All of the sushi was amazing and we'd have stayed longer for MORE rolls but they were closing.We will definitely be back! A benchmark for good sushi restaurants is the quality of their pickled ginger. Most restaurants have pink pickled ginger which is "ok" but at Okinawa it's white, the highest quality!! I've found a new favorite sushi restaurant. Next time we'll have sake! :) Update: 3/28/15 I have NEVER had a bad experience here. The sushi is the best I have had from Hagerstown to Harrsonburg. Looking over some of the negative comments I'm a little shocked. We've never experienced anything anywhere close to what the negative reviewers said. We went here (my husband and I) with six other people today. We asked for two checks and asked to use a gift certificate for each. We were told we could not do that since we are at the same table. Since this, in fact, was a condition on that particular gift certificate, we graciously accepted her comment and my husband and I said we would pay our check without a gift certificate. But then I was surprised that an automatic gratuity was added to our bill (for two people) because we were sitting with the other six people. When we tried to explain that this was illogical (can't use the second gift certificate because we were at the same table), but had an automatic gratuity added because the two of us were sitting at the table with the other 6 people. It wasn't the amount of the gratuity, because I am usually a good tipper and would have left considerably more. It was the principle of the thing. As a side issue, I wonder if this restaurant is even abiding by the new IRS rules as of January 2014 that gratuities must be treated as service charges; i.e. taxed as payroll wages. The griller guy was fine and they kept our drinks filled. But the other service people were abrupt, grabbing salad bowls and plates before we were finished, and making us feel rushed. The lady who brought the bill said "excuse me" in an unfriendly tone, adding that the foot of the five year old at our table had "touched her." This restaurant has a lot to learn about customer service. I have to say the food was good and comparable to the less expensive Ichiban. We will not return. read more
