WOW! Excellent sushi in Front Royal. The wait staff was prompt and the meal served in short order. The place is quiet and conversation friendly. I will eat here next time I am in town.

We really enjoyed our experience at Yamafuji! First off - don't let the exterior appearance sway you to think twice - because we almost did. The outside needs help and these reviews helped convince us to give it a chance so let this one be another one of those! We were seated far from others in the restaurant which was great to avoid conversations that overlap. The music was at a nice level so you didn't need to yell to talk to people at your table. This is thoughtful of the restaurant staff and I appreciate it! I think our waiters name was Scott. He was a tall, calm soft spoken man who made us feel welcomed and relaxed. Many times at a restaurant it's a quick order and eat experience. Scott, if that's his name, was anything but that. He helped work through the long sushi roll list with us and overall just did a fantastic job. Now for the food - overall amazinggg. The pork gyoza was crispy and huge! My miso soup wasn't what I expected so I wouldn't get that again. But the sushi rolls themselves were great. A little smaller than we are used to back home but still filling. My absolutely favorite was the crunchy California roll (minus the eel sauce). I mean - writing this review and seeing the picture of the roll is making my mouth water it was that good. 10/10 recommend their sush, dining in and enjoying the company you visit with!

Didn't know this place was here in good ole Fromt Royal. Clean place, music at a good level for conversation. Our server was alone today so she didnt come to check on us while we were eating... this is only a bummer because I ordered the spicy Korean Ramen and oh boy was this spicy. The Ramen was sooo good. My husband ordered the white tuna roll and spicy tuna tempura roll. He loved every bite. The only real downer was the lack of ability to request water and the salad that came with the ramen which was pedestrian. We still plan to come back and try some other items.

We went for lunch on a whim and we were so pleasantly surprised to find one of our new favorite places! Got a couple of the daily special sushi rolls since they were only $5. In the Veggie Box I had some of the crispest tofu, amazing! For lunch on a Sunday, the place was pretty empty and quiet, but service was super quick! Hope to be back many times!

Tonkotsu Ramen was subpar. Get the sushi instead.

Ordered avocado rolls online for takeout. Good rolls at a good price. Could use an extra soy sauce. Staff was nice at pick up.

Service has improved significantly! Gotta get credit where credit is due…read more The food has improved, too. Noodles more palatable and meats less salty. I still think more sauce is added to the rice than is necessary, and I would not order the hibachi scallops again...but the shrimp and mushrooms continue to be delicious, and the veggies pair so well with the fried rice. I really hate leaving a bad review for them because they were very nice, but I take food seriously. I've eaten at some of the best and worst places in the country. Sushi- on the edge of not being edible as sushi. Slight fishy taste. Tuna was a little off colored for sushi. The dynamite roll was burning hot and too much garnish sauce on top, probably to hide the fishy taste. As a general rule, if the ocean is too far, don't eat the sushi unless it's flown in daily. That said, I've had bad sushi in Vegas too, but this was not good at all. This is only the second time in my life I've left sushi uneaten. The hibachi- A LOT OF RICE!!!! Ridiculous amounts. A good amount of filet too, but the butter mix is weird, the oil is a cheaper oil and the soy sauce just taste weird. I brought the meat home for my dog. I absolutely will not go again. Kills me to say that because I eat sushi at least once a week , but I'd prefer to travel for quality sushi especially if it's something that could make you sick and I've been sick from bad sushi before... it's not fun.

The sign was so small you couldn't read it from the road. We had a reservation but they seemed surprised to see us and not ready for a party of 7. However, they quickly recovered and seated us in a back room all to ourselves, which was nice, however, it was one of those 90 degree days and I didn't feel any AC. The furniture was a little hodgepodge and the chairs seemed like something from an old conference room rather than a restaurant. Not very easy to get in and out of. No matter. We got settled in with menus and drink orders taken. I had a chicken teriyaki rice bowl. It was okay nothing outstanding. One lady had a chicken teriyaki noodle bowl. The rest of our group had various rolls. I thought for the price the food was average and a little on the pricey side. The service was good and we did have this little private room to ourselves. Would I go there again? I would but it wouldn't be my first choice. I was really disappointed because I love the charm of Berryville and I was hoping this place would a little gem I had yet to discover. Hopefully it gets better after they settle into their new location.

Overall the platter was filled with the tasty bites. The fried tofu was the only thing that definitely needed sauce to add any sort of flavor. We also ordered additional crunchy rolls to take home. I ordered the Tom Ka again because it is an amazing soup, again it did not disappoint. Main dishes. She ordered the Crispy duck this time because of my experience the last time. Well...the basil was a bit soggy, the duck was soggy and not at all crispy. She also ordered it three spice which I thought took away from a lot of the flavor. I was going to order the whole Cod but they did not have any on hand so I went with the Thai crab omelette. What a great choice. How they pack so many flavors into the food is beyond me, yes the textures are kind of the same all the way through but even the rice tasted great. If you want to add different levels of heat, ask for the spice tray. The dried spices kind of blew my head off so I stuck with the pickled jalapeño and red pepper spices. They also had a drink special that she had and if you spent over $50 you received a free valentine dessert. Strawberry cheesecake. The drink was made with sweet fresh mango and the cheese cake was well made, creamy and a delightful finish to the meal. The Inn at Little Washington lost its third Michelin star in the 2025. The timing coincided with…read moreVirginia's state tourism office declining to pay a reported ~$360,000 fee to expand Michelin coverage into more of the state. Others see it as part of a wider "reset" affecting other longtime three-star spots like Alinea (Chicago) and Masa (New York), which also dropped to two stars at the same time. I'm not completely sure why the slight decline but here's my honest view. The scenic drive from DC through the Virginia countryside sounds breathtaking--rolling hills, charming small towns, glimpses of Blue Ridge Mountains but in actuality all of the turns and hills made myself and friend sick. We had to pull over and gather ourselves. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, filled with artwork, pink, green and gold monkey wallpaper and Victorian tables, and English country style. It's maximalist--opulent without being stuffy. Our waitstaff made the evening extra special for my birthday. They constantly wished me a happy birthday, asked thoughtful questions about my life, shared jokes, and engaged in small talk that felt genuine and personal. Not to mention the menu with my name. Each course on the 7-course tasting menu was beautifully presented. We loved having three menu options to choose from: a new seasonal tasting (always fresh and surprising), Enduring Classics (with signature dishes like the iconic lobster preparations or herb-crusted favorites), and a full vegetarian Good Earth menu with the eggplant course being our favorite. The unlimited warm bread service with fresh butter and flaky sea salt was a simple but perfect touch. The Champagne options were endless (their wine list is legendary, with a massive cellar and expert sommeliers), and they even offered a dedicated book/menu highlighting rare waters from around the world--everything from iceberg sources to unique mineral springs. I've never seen a water book before. Standouts for me was the caviar egg, lamb main course and tomato amuse-bouche. If you're looking for a special occasion spot (birthday, anniversary, or just because), this is it. Four people will run you around $2500 including drinks. Con- I would work on the cocktail menu (the Diana tasted like cough medicine). Bring back the pear dessert and portion sizes from 12 years ago. My main lamb portion was embarrassing. Reviewers see pictures for example sizes. Please offer a dedicated pescatarian menu. Overall, Chef Patrick O'Connell and his team did a great job.

Okay, my husband and I have lived in VA for about 2 years and have been wanting to visit this…read morerestaurant really since we moved here. We've been lucky enough to dine at a few Michelin star and bib gourmand restaurants ton include some coveted 3 star spots! A few weeks before our res, we saw the Inn was downgraded from 3 to 2 stars and unfortunately, I can see why from this visit. For context, this visit was $1500 for the 2 of us and included one wine pairing and the cheese cow. At that price point, I would say the meal and experience were not worth it. The food: the food was both great and okay. There are a few dishes that are extremely exciting. I had the vegetarian menu, while my husband had the classics. The egg, carpaccio, eggplant, and cheese cow were the stars. Everything else was good, but not outstanding. Pineapple and Pearls (another Michelin restaurant in DC) offers a more exciting menu at about the same price. The service: this is where the loss of a star became annoyingly apparent to me. It might seem bratty, but for $1500 and a Michelin spot, you expect a napkin folded when you get back from the bathroom and adequate spacing between courses. My husband noted he felt the meal was rushed. For one dish, they brought me the wrong silverware and at the end of the meal, they forgot the coffees we ordered and our takeaway gift (little chocolates in a cutesy paper house). They also asked if we wanted time with our cocktails before the meal began and we said yes, but they brought us the cocktail, wine pairing, and first course all at once. The staff is so kind and awesome! I don't want to take away from how welcoming and nice everyone was. The service itself just lacked *at a Michelin star level*. If I was paying, say, $500 instead of $1500, I would be thrilled with the meal! The ambiance is very cool and true to the brand of The Inn. When you leave the bathroom, you'll see all of the historic guests who have eaten out of Patrick O'Connell's kitchen and it feels a bit surreal. The famous chef did his rounds of the dining room, which frankly was the highlight of the night. He's an absolute legend. Okay, that was a long one. To The Inn, I'm sorry! I wish we could say everything was perfection. I know you'll work out the kinks!
