This was the first time that I have enjoyed all the wine tasting in one sitting. The wines were balanced and approachable. I usually don't like sparkling whites but Rachel's Curvee 2019 was differently special. In the end, I took home the Signature Chardonnay (a beautiful cloudy unfiltered wine that was creamy yet finished clean) and Amelia Syrah/Vio (named after the family's youngest child). The retail shop is a "shack" and wine tasting experience on picnic tables dotting the property which also offered beautiful views of Okanagan Lake and vineyards. Was told the sheep usually come down to the picnic area to graze on the grass but none today so will have to come back another time.

Some of their prices would be more expensive than the government liquor stores but I guess the ones they have the tag stating that they are cheaper than government owned liquor stores are really cheaper. They have all sort of selections. The liquor store was super busy on Christmas Eve. We picked up $250 worth of alcohol. I can see their business skyrocketing during the holidays season. They have better hours. The liquor store was very clean. It was very pleasant to walk into. Everything was very neatly organized. Plenty of free parking out infront.

Meandering off the main road and down their unpaved driveway, you are greeted by vines overlooking the lake and a sprawling outdoor patio with fantastical art on display. The interior tasting room is casual, a vaulted wooden structure with a library of wine bottles on display. We were instantly greeted and given a cozy corner (6 ft+ from other patrons, appreciate their safety precautions!) to enjoy our tasting. Visiting from California, it was fun to try wines typical to the Okanagan. I especially enjoyed how light and nuanced the Merlots are, since CA Merlots tend to leave me feeling punched in the face. We ended up purchasing a 2017 bottle of The Greatest Love of Mal to bring home. It was divine, with a taste that danced between chocolate covered cherries and a subtle licorice finish... I can easily (and did), keep sipping until the bottle disappears!

Wine tastings are complimentary but they limit you to four pours per person. Bottles are in the $15.90 to 43.39 range. We were a large group so we split our group in half. We were four so should have had 16 total tastings to try. Instead, the pourer only let us try 13 out of 14 on the list. Super lame that we didn't get to try the 2014 Eruption. Interestingly, the other half of our group got to try 6 samples each. So I have no idea what was the issue with that guy. Whites - 2016 Bubbly gewurztraminer - 2017 Rose - 2016 Magma white - 2016 Viognier - 2013 Reserve chardonnay - 2016 Lava white blend - this was the only white I liked. A blend of 6 different whites. Reds - 2015 Pinot noir - 2013 Merlot - 2014 Syrah - 2015 Magma red - the only red that was decent. Another blend of 5 reds. Icewines - 2016 Gewurztraminer late harvest - this was incredibly sweet. - 2015 Pinot noir icewine - not sure how but it was even more sweet than the gewurztraminer. - 2014 Riesling icewine - only icewine that was balanced. Wasn't impressed much with the wines or the service here.
