This year, we conveniently forgot that Holy Week spells traffic hell in Tagaytay, which is how, despite intending to do our Visita Iglesia there, ound our way to Oishi Batchoi, instead, conveniently located away from the typical Tagaytay destinations.
We had our #YuanTamad (shih tzu) with us so our restaurant choices were limited to those willing to take in pets, and Oishi Batchoi was certainly happy to accommodate.
The food did not disappoint! Their Gomoku Miso Batchoi, which had seafood instead of pork, was the perfect fare for Lent. I've never tried miso with noodles (only with sinigang), but it's quite good, and made the soup much heartier with the thicker broth.
The Chicken Teriyaki and Chicken Platter servings were quite large, which was just right for our big appetites. (Driving around was exhausting. Excuses, excuses...) And the chicken were both perfectly seasoned. Their Crunchy Maki, Kani Salad, and Salmon Sashimi were made fresh and were enough to our Japanese food-loving family.
This is definitely a place worth coming back to, especially during cooler weather in Tagaytay. Can't wait! read more
