I'd rate this more like 4-1/2 stars but yelp doesn't have half stars and 5 stars r reserved for perfection. I had the classic shoyu ramen. The broth was tasty & the noodles were perfectly al dente. The chashu is very also very tasty but they only give u two things slices & it's over 50% fat.
Cozy ramen spot with old school Japanese vibes. Fuji market is connected to the restaurant and they have sushi/drinks/snacks to go. Our server was very attentive. Classic shio: this is their lightest broth with only salt as the seasoning. It tasted clean but it didn't have much flavour. Classic shoyu: this soy sauce broth was light but full of flavour. I recommend ordering this. Chicken karaage: I was thinking of adding 2 pieces of chicken karaage to my bowl for $6 but we opted for the side for $14. This came with 6 pieces and Japanese mayo. The chicken was juicy and the batter was crispy.
Service here is quick and the warm soup is perfect for the cold weather. I got the curry ramen and you can ask for spice on the side to add in yourself. I love the noodle texture here as well--al dente with a perfect bite.
My partner and I ordered 2 Tan Tan noodles, and a meat lover. My verdict was this is very authentic tasting ramen. I really like how salty the soup base was for Tan Tan, it's close to the ones I had in Japan. The only downside was the lack of servers checking in on us, I often had to ask the greeter to get us a server when we're ready to order or when we're done with our food. Otherwise the ambiance was awesome and I think the interior decoration really makes you feel like you're eating authentic ramen. One other critique was the lack of meat in all of our noodles, there's a reason why we ordered three bowls and a beer costing about 73 after tax and tips.
We got there and they were packed. They were so kind though and attentive to getting as many in and out and fed. We said it would be about a 30 min wait so we walked around the little mini mart on the side and then he called us like 5 min later and sat us 5 at a booth for 4 we thought we could fit you know girls squishing. It was cozy but not comfortable we ended up finding another table near and just adding a chair which was perfect. Then we ordered and food came quick. It's filling and big portions. I enjoyed mine so much. Very good, would order this again.
Neat little ramen shop in the same space as Fuji Japanese market. There is plenty of seating actually unlike other reviews - and the decor is really tasteful. But you're not here to read about decor. Ramen - I had the curry. - noodles: good, thin and chewy the way I like - broth: it's ok. No real tonkotsu flavour, curry flavor is just ok - it has a strong kick but not as much flavour. - meat: very well done. Super tender. Love it. - egg: not bad, nothing special - other things: not bad. I would say for Whistler this is a satisfying bowl of ramen if you want a ramen fix. This is more of a "strong 3 star" review - I can't quite put it in the same category as my other 4-star ramen reviews though.
This place is located right next to Whistler village and has an attached grocery. The view from the patio is outstanding. In April the sun feels far warmer than the actual temperature. 55 felt like 80 degrees. I ordered the vegetable gyoza and vegan garlic miso ramen which is loaded with corn, sprouts, tofu, choy sum, green onions and kale noodles. I also had a dry cider. All were delicious and cheap. Recommend.
Good ramen. Noisy ambiance. For seated in a tiny table on the side which was a little awkward but it was just me so I didn't mind that I didn't have to wait. I got the big mountain ramen bowl and it was a good portion. Lots of veggies and the pork was perfectly cooked. The soup was good as well. It's my 3rd time here and I think this time is the most memorable. It feels like you're in a small ramen cafe in Japan. I also love that there's a little Japanese convenient store right next door. Went there and got my dessert.
Came on a Friday evening for two at 6pm. No wait and seated at a booth by the window that looks into the kitchen. I ordered the shio classic and my date ordered the vegan garlic ramen. It was pretty busy throughout the night. Pros: - interesting and fun decor that looks like an everyday side street in Japan - vegan garlic ramen soup was superb with great flavor and the noodles were well cooked Note: - the shio ramen noodles were too firm for my liking and the soup was too subtle in flavor for my personal preference
Great miso ramen and menu! Broth was flavorful and love a spicy ramen moment. This restaurant is connected to an Izakaya restaurant, equally delicious, and a mini Asian Supermarket (great selection and homemade bento boxes!). Restaurant is on the smaller side so not ideal for very large groups but also call ahead for a reservation!
I am someone who can crave for ramen noodles everyday in winter weather. I love it how the ramen here is delicious, heartful of flavors and has perfect warmth. The pork was well done. The curry flavor is very original and full. Vegan ramen was also well done with all the flavors. Service was bit slow. We were given chicken karage in middle of our ramen. But the staff had lot of recommendations for first time whistler visitors. That was nice. And yeah! The set up is really cute like street style japenese restaurant vibe.

I decided to make another trip back here during a June Sunday lunch. The restaurant was fairly quiet with maybe 4 or so tables full and one waitress. Food came out very quick, probably within 10 or so minutes of ordering. The shoyu classic was pretty simple and broth was flavorful. Pretty much the ramen comes with chashu pork, green onions, and noodles and it's maybe $17.50 for the classic. If you want to add egg, garlic, nori, etc, you'll have to pay extra. Overall this is a pretty good ramen joint for whistler! Would recommend if you want a hearty bowl of soup!

We visited Ohyama Ramen in Whistler village. Highlight was their interior. The retro Japanese town painting on the wall reminds me of Ramen Museum in Japan. Very nostalgic, and nice ambience. We ordered Big Mountain Ramen - signature broth with extra BBQ pork belly, corn, bean sprouts, greens, shiitake mushroom, onion chips, sesame seeds - Broth require more refinement. Soup was not bold enough, but saltiness stood out and noticed greasy flavor. Noodle and other ingredients were just ok, Vegetable Gyoza was ok, too. I can not judge based on only 2 items, they offer other ramen, such as Yuzu or cold ramen which I might try next time. read more
My friend and I was recommended to this restaurant when we were in town. So we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was fairly empty on a Saturday late afternoon. We quickly sat down and placed our order. Both my friend and I ordered the Bog Mountain ramen. It was well worth the price because it has most of the add ons. My friend ordered the miso broth and I got the shoyou broth. Both broth was a bit bland, but understandable because there are additional add ons that could potentially enhance the flavor. Overall, we thought it was decent. The interior decors felt appropriate for the space. There was booth seating that showcase Japanese murals. It looked really cool. read more

Delicious food and friendly service. We popped in here after a long day of skiing Whistler and truly enjoyed our meal. Our server was incredibly accommodating with dietary needs (Gluten-Free and Vegan). Recommend the creamy vegan ramen and the chicken karage. So glad we visited. Would eat here again. read more

After a day on the mountain, I was in the mood for ramen. I found Ohyama on Yelp and walked over. Walking in I found the restaurant to be a pretty co chlll place. The environment was nice and having a little shop next door is a good touch. I was solo and was seated right away. Everyone was nice and helpful since it was my first time I asked for recommendations. Order the spicy Shoyu ramen with two eggs and the local IPA beer. It all paired perfectly. read more

Ramen after a day of cold weather activities is perfect! Eating it there is much better than doing takeout. Just try to get a table away from the door so that you don't get blasted with cold air every time the door opens. They can accommodate GF diners with at least one of the ramens, so I ordered that one. And then made it spicy. It added the perfect dimension and we agreed that mine was the best dish of the table. The GF noodles left something to be desired, but that's just how GF noodles are. read more
Great service, friendly staff, the smell of ramen persists throughout the restaurant as soon as you walk in, and the theme of the restaurant is spectacular. Small spot on the outskirts of the main village, this ramen spot is worth the walk Only downside was we got the double meat option and it didn't seem like it was that much meat in general. Wanted to check this ramen place out while in my trip to Whistler and WOW. First of all, ramen in Whistler? I LOVE! The ambiance is great! Well lit. Lots to booths. It's wood and rustic yet modern aesthetic. The music was so good! I loved every song that was played. The music was at such a great volume that you could hear others when they speak. The ramen options were great. I loved how there was three bases to choose from. I told my sever what I was looking for and she directed me exactly to what I was looking for. She was super helpful and knowledgeable. I absolutely loved my choice, Big Mountain and Miso based. The flavour of all ingredients together was so good! I didn't even know it was possible for it to work so well. The shiitake mushrooms were sweet and incredible I am left so in love with the taste. Hands down miso soup is the best in richness for me. So happy with my order that I will absolutely drive from Surrey to Whistler to satisfy my ramen craving. The server stated it wouldn't be too long and I got it within 5 minutes.. I kind you not! I was shocked. It was quick. My table was clean. Very good service. I highly recommend you give this place a try if you're in town. Because I sure will be back! read more

Busy place for dinner, good place to warm up and check out the Japanese market. The soup is authentic, good noodles - I'd prefer slightly thicker slices of pork and think the basic ramen would benefit from corn or added vegetables PLUS the egg in all. Probably should've gotten the Big Mountain with Shio broth. Shoyu broth was a bit salty for me, but my friend thought the saltiness balanced out with the spicy in their soup. Miso broth was also delicious. Both friends thought the spiciness was not too spicy, but also not NOT spicy (so White People™ spicy). You can also add the spice incrementally with chili oil flakes. The Jug of Sapporo deal is DEFINITELY worth for 3 people (each of us had a sleeve and a refill). Cheers to beers with friends! Also, friendly servers and cool that the restaurant connects with the Japanese market and bar next door. read more
Can't get your expectations up with Japanese food up here. It's nice to have a choice regardless. Shoyu ramen tasted like instant noodle at best. Soup base was a bit overly salted. Meat was chewy. Karage chicken a bit dry. Overall this is probably the only few options you got if you crave some ramen. Otherwise not really worth the visit. read more
3.5 stars Pretty good ramen loved the texture of the noodles. I got the Meat lover, spicy, shoyu and added an egg. It was a good level of spiciness, but I could not tell the flavor of the shoyu. I didn't think there was too much pork belly because it was sliced so thin. I think if I were to do it again I'd just go with the spicy with miso base. The egg was a nice medium so kudos for that. My friends liked their shio based Big Mountain ramen but they thought that it was odd that the mushrooms were sweet. The gyoza was just okay not the best, obviously pre bought and frozen type but many ramen shops use that too. maybe just a different brand or needs to be steamed longer. Karaage was also just okay, my friends liked it and I think a better choice than gyoza. It also came with a mayo dip, not kewpi. I don't really care because I don't use either. We also took advantage of the $20 pitcher of Sapporo with purchase of 2 ramen bowls. There's also a deal to add a side and a glass of Sapporo for $12 in addition to a bowl of ramen. The decor is very cool, it looks like you're in a Japanese village. Service was ok. We had to flag them down when we were ready to order. But once the order was in, food came fast and furious. So just flag them down when you're ready. They are located between Fuji market and harajuku izakaya. All 3 businesses are run by the same people since there's a door connecting Fuji market and ohyama ramen and the credit card receipt came up for the same place. Also when I paid for my groceries at Fuji market it asked if I wanted to tip. There were a few options for donburi rice bowls. There was one for vegetable curry rice I just wish there was a option for karaage veggie curry rice. I know I can order both items to make it myself but I that would be a good seller. I also liked that they had a vegan ramen option. Overall not a bad choice for ramen at Whistler. ___ Tips: - None of the ramen come with an egg so if you want one you have to order it as an add on. - Service seemed like they didn't know when we were ready, just flag them down when you're ready to order, the food comes out quickly. - Maybe come early, I think we got here around 6 and got a seat but after we got our order, there seemed to be a wait. read more

I had an incredibly delicious dinner at Ohyama with friends. The ambiance was chill- we came ~30 minutes before closing on St. Patty's day after a long day of skiing, snowboarding, and après. As you can imagine, we needed to get some food in us after all that fun. ;) They stayed open past closing for us and the many other guests that were still there. Our server, whose name I'm unfortunately blanking on, was lovely. He was accommodating with my requests. I'm a picky eater (working on expanding my palate) with texture and sensory issues. I got the spicy ramen and substituted tofu for the BBQ pork belly with the miso base. You can get extra veggies and eggs as toppings if you ask. I asked for it to be as spicy as possible, and they didn't disappoint. The ramen was phenomenal- the texture was perfect. The balance between spice and miso was *chef's kiss*. The food took a while to arrive, but it was so worth the wait, and I'd rather have freshly prepared food with good ingredients than fast food that arrives in under 10 minutes any day of the week. In summation: my mouth is watering as I write this review. read more
Staff was very good only after seating. They don't do very good job of hosting. Lots of. People coming in from everywhere and no specific person at the door for putting the name down for informing customer. Beside of this downside, food is great. Just like what you expect for Japanese ramen. I don't like pork that I had to order the miso base and it worked out great. There is vegetarian option for people who doesn't eat meat. For person like me who only like to eat red meat besides of pork was a bit challenging because there were no option for adding meat, beside of pork, as a topping Overall, I had a pretty good experience. This place is pretty good to dine alone but you have to expect to sit at the corner :( read more

Nice warm fresh Ramen. I ordered the classic as it comes with the miso seasoning. $17.50. I got chili paste on the side for spice, which was nice and a draft beer. It felt like a real experience which can be hard to find in Whistler Village. very pleasant and real. read more
