Fortunately for us, they have a tatami room that seats 14! Even more fortunately, it wasn't REALLY tatami seating -- low table with woven mats on the floor. Instead, it just looked like floor seating. The space under that table was recessed so you sit with your legs extended -- like sitting on a bench. The food was varied, with rolls and nigiri sushi, sashimi, udon, donburi, tempura, and more. There's definitely something for everyone. We ordered some of everything. And while everything was delicious, the standouts were the spider roll, super hiro roll, and crab claw tempura. Honorable mention goes to the strawberry sake margarita. The server handled our massive order of food and drinks expertly. Fun and casual atmosphere. Make sure to book a reservation as it is quite popular.

We ordered tons of apps, takoyaki, beef tempura, a few salads, 5 of the 10 piece chefs Nigiri, the miso cod, garlic beef, udon noodles and a few nigiri. We also got a bunch of hot sake, sake margaritas and a few Sapporo's. Overall a fun place, kinda expensive for what it is with the ocean being as close as it is and not very authentic, but the food was passable. Great for groups but you need to check in early or get a reservation.

The spcy tuna roll was not what I expected as it was tuna steak, with spicy sauce in it, as opposed to the premixed spicy tuna mixture inside of rice. It wasn't the best, but still did the job. I waited about 10 minutes to get my food and I was on my way to go, as the name of the place suggests :)

If we didn't have to catch our shuttle back, I would have ordered this after my beer. All and all, it was a good dining experience. The food does take some time to come but it's not too long. My only disappointment was how little fish were in the roll. Other than that, the food was good. We didn't try the hotpot since the cost was extremely high where they charge for per person instead of by order. Definitely give this place a try if you like nigiri and check if they have blue fin if you do try the nigiri.

Busy place even for summer and a bit of a "side" location. I was lucky with my timing because there was a long line-up behind me shortly after I arrived. Staff is great - friendly and efficient. The food it good. The reason for my 3 star rating is just "value for money." I found the portions small for the price. In Vancouver - you'd literally get double the amount of food for the same price. But this being Whistler...you get what you get. read more

Such a good spot for Japanese food. The appetizers are amazing especially the agedashi tofu, breaded prawns and gyozas. The ramen, donburi and fried chicken is delicious too. Samurai Sushi is wonderful. read more
