I was gifted a tour of the stadium. I'm a huge Buckeye fan so it was a great gift. We started the tour at the press box level and what a great vantage point of the stadium Next we went to the Presidents box which was very beautiful. The leather stadium seats were one of the most comfortable seat I have ever sat in my life. Down to the field level where the Band enters and to their practice area. A quick trip around to the locker room and then down the tunnel players enter the field from, very cool. Of course we got to go on the field and grab some photos. What a great adventure !

Great place to watch a game. Sat in Section C on the 40 yard line. Nice view of the field. Love the band. Parking can be a challenge on game day so go early. Lots of tailgating and lots of energy. I thought the Ohio State fans were friendly and welcoming to us (at the UT Longhorn game).

Every seat is a great seat! The crowd is friendly, the accommodations are plenty the bathrooms are clean and the staff are polite and knowledgeable. They allow blankets for those brisk Ohio days!

It's a glorious old stadium. Home of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Much smaller than I thought it would be. I've watched it on television for over 60 years and I finally made it here. The first game was in October of 1922 and the original capacity was only 66,210. Thank goodness they gave it the face-lift at the turn of the century. It now seats 102,780; however, on November 26, 2016, Curtis Samuel ran a hand-off 15 yards for a touchdown in the 2nd overtime as Urban Meyer's #2 ranked Bucs beat TTUN led by Jim Harbaugh and ranked #3, in front of 110,045 fans. A stadium record to this day. I did notice it's a quiet place. I just assumed that on any given Fall Saturday, it would be the loudest place in Ohio. When the Hoosiers and TTUN come back, I think you guys need to get one hell of a lot louder. They could use that proverbial 12th man. 11/24

Went to my first game and it was incredible. The stadium atmosphere is the best I've seen in college football. The fans really know their chants which makes it exciting to be a part of. The bathrooms are spaced out to where lines go quickly and there's plenty of options for food and beer.

The place is a big pile of garbage. No nostalgia or culture compared to other historic venues. Bathrooms were a mess, like nobody took trash out all game. Concessions ran out of items mid game. Parking is a nightmare. Concourses are tight as can be. At least other historic stadiums has completed renovations to keep up with the times. Will never be returning to this stadium in my life.

If you do not rate Ohio Stadium a 5 and you live in Columbus..are you really an Ohio State fan?! This place does it all!! One of the biggest stadiums, most amazing games, concerts and events. So clean. Awesome staff. I will always be coming back here. Let's get it Bucks!!

I was at Ohio Stadium - not for an OSU game (although I've attended games in the past) but was here for "Golf from the Upper Deck". This was a fundraising event where you got to hit 2 golf balls from 18 stations set up around the entire C-deck. This is a historic stadium that is revered by legions of OSU alums. Beautiful place.

Even if you're not a Buckeye fan, The Shoe is a must-see! The architecture of the rotunda is stunning. Photos can never do it justice. The game day atmosphere is always lively. The ushers and concession workers are always extremely friendly and helpful. I've gone to dozens of games as a former student and recently returned for the Nebraska game - it was great to see that the experience is just as great. Every other event I've attended at the stadium has always been well organized, like the annual 4-mile race that finishes at the 50 yard line or a concert.

What an iconic stadium to visit. The staff is world class. Every direction I went there was assistance at hand. The food and beverages were stadium quality. Watched a soccer match but will be back for a football game

Bacon vending machine? When you get the hankering for cold bacon while watching a football game ‍

Football team: Great. Undeniable. Stadium Pros: Crumble tent. Drone show. Bacon vending machine? Stadium Cons: Bacon vending machine? No bathrooms; Your two options are a portapotty or a tent that is dark with no lights and the steam from your own piss wafting back at you. Fans: The most nilla unelectric overhyped fans in cfb. Switched back and forth from their only two cheers of seven nation army and helping each other spell their own 4 letter state. 50% nice and pleasant to talk to 50% rude as they could be. HOWEVER, the most terrifying thing was after the game instead of swaying to a fight song or alma mater, they swayed to a funeral bell in complete silence. It was the most solemn creepy children of the corn thing I have ever experienced.

Always an awesome time when watching a concert or football game at the stadium! Staff is always super friendly and the stadium is so rich in history.

Ask the Community - Ohio Stadium

Is there a way to visit Ohio Stadium in the off season? I'm going to visit Columbus with family and wondered if you could see anything in the off season. Also where is a good place to park?

Hi Matt. Check the website below for further details. They do tours but you must schedule 2 weeks in advance. Parking is abundant right next to the stadium and you won't have an issue finding something unless there is an event.… Read more

Where do I even start…read more I traveled to Ohio for a Drake concert in 2024 and while the show itself was great, there were props and other items blocking my view that made it really hard to see. I contacted Ticketmaster who told me it was the arenas issue. When I reached out to the arena they basically said I should have gone to customer service during the concert. Honestly who even knows to do that in the middle of a show. After several emails back and forth, customer service eventually offered me tickets to another concert as compensation. I picked Justin Timberlake which again required traveling. The night before leaving, the concert was cancelled and rescheduled. Not the arenas fault, but the notice came way too late for me to cancel my hotel. When it was rescheduled, I traveled from Chicago to Columbus and my friend flew in from Houston and while we were literally on our way to the arena the concert was cancelled again. At that point I was beyond frustrated because what are the odds. I had been in communication with LaToya who said she was working with her supervisor to make this right, but after that I followed up multiple times and got completely left on read. I started a new email thread and the last message I got months ago was just sorry. This is a multi million dollar industry and they could not care less about how customers are affected, the costs, the travel, the time, the hotels. It is extremely disappointing and I never heard back again. And now it is 2026 smh. Now the Director, Brook wants to finally respond and flex her muscle. Letting me know its not their fault and basically oh well. I get it its not their lost but they could have said that months ago. Instead of avoiding and ignoring my follow up emails

Bathrooms and food are across the way in the main building, so plan ahead (and the concessions prices are high.) Also bring a blanket or cushion; metal seats are cold. The games are fun. The arena has true character with tons and tons of black and white photographs from many Ohio State sports dynasties from the past I remember when the Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball played here under coach Fred Taylor, Eldon Miller, Gary Williams,. The Value City Arena is the new home and is a great place, but it just lacks the character of St. John Arena. (which is understandable) I've seen many concerts at St. John Arena as well, and there really is not a bad seat in the house, based upon the seating arrangements. The most popular event still held at the arena is the Skull Session, the pep rally before football games. Two hours prior to kickoff of the football game, The Ohio State University Marching Band performs Buckeye favorites, and the players, cheerleaders and coaches speak to the crowd. I really hope that the university does not replace or demolish this wonderful piece of history, in Columbus.

The stadium has bleachers, the middle section of which have chair backs. There are clean restrooms and a concession area selling snacks like nachos and popcorn. On our recent visit, we went to a Men's Soccer Game, and it was a great experience. There is plenty of seating, and a large color screen showing the action on the field. Kids can get close to the tunnel where the athletes go through and give them high fives when they are heading into the locker rooms at halftime. Brutus and two Crew Cats were in attendance, walking around and sitting down to fans, sliding down banisters, and giving hugs and high fives. Very fun!

Since that was 10+ years ago, obviously lots of things have changed. I do love the wooden interior. It has more of a classic tavern feel than most of the newer/more cheaply-built bars in the campus area. It has high ceilings and two main rooms, the one you walk into with the bar, and another to the right with a small stage and dance floor/high top tables. The first room has 2 pool tables, which is why I have visited more recently when some of my other go-to pool spots are too busy. Drinks are on the cheap side, with most of your basic options but this is not a spot to expect a specialty cocktail or a super wide variety of spirits. It's not a bad spot for pitchers of beer or your basic shots and mixed drinks. I would definitely rate Ruby higher because I've had great experiences there, but the service lately has been hit or miss. The last time the bartenders refused to change the music to a different channel, insisting on playing country and encouraging us to buy each song we wanted via touch tunes. On this same visit, the staff seemed super unfriendly serving drinks, and another staff member was mopping the floor while customers were still ordering drinks at around 10:30 on a Friday night. I understand that this place tends to close when customers are gone toward the end of the night, but it seemed like the staff really didnt want anyone to be there. I wouldn't think ownership would want staff to be pushing paying customers out on one of the busiest nights for bars. I'm sure I'll be back at some point, but if I go in to check if there's a pool table open and notice any of those same staff members from the last time, I might just head home.

I had been to plenty of events when it was the MLS Crew's home field. I personally do not think this is prime real estate for a festival. I parked at a garage at Columbus State and took a shuttle. We breezed through security, grabbed merch quickly, and were actually impressed by how smoothly things seemed to be running. But it all went downhill fast. Gigi opened and performed four songs before being pulled from the stage. Moments later, an announcement came over the speakers citing severe weather, instructing people to either shelter in place (with barely any room to do so) or return to their vehicles. We -- along with hundreds of others -- stood packed in the concourse for nearly two hours with zero direction or updates. Rain poured in through the bleachers, soaking people despite wearing ponchos. All the booths and stands were closed, so there was no access to water or anything else. It was uncomfortable, poorly managed, and honestly felt unsafe. Around 9:30 PM, with still no new information, we made the call to leave. We headed back to our car, only to get stuck in gridlock traffic trying to exit the lot -- for nearly an hour. No one was directing traffic or managing flow. Then, suddenly at 10:15 PM, they posted an announcement saying the venue was reopening. What followed was a total mess -- cars trying to leave clashing with fans trying to return, people sprinting toward the gates, vehicles weaving around each other recklessly, honking, pulling out in front of each other. It was dangerous, and absolutely no one was coordinating anything. We ultimately decided to continue leaving -- even though lightning was still visible and it was raining -- because we had already waited so long, and the whole experience had become incredibly frustrating. If they were going to let the show resume in those conditions, it should've happened an hour earlier instead of stringing people along with "lightning delay" messages. This venue was completely unprepared and unprofessional. The lack of communication and crowd control was unacceptable. I'm heartbroken to have missed seeing one of my favorite artists because of the disorganization, and I know thousands of others are feeling the same way. I won't be returning to this venue -- no matter who's playing. Truly one of the worst concert experiences I've ever had.
