Always a fantastic time at the Crew games. Great food, fun atmosphere. Soccer fan or not you've got to come and have a fun night. Great for an exciting date night or a fun night out with the family. The Crew has something for everyone.

The Columbus Crew won the MLS in 2020. This year they moved into their new stadium, "Lower, com Field. The stadium holds about 20,000 fans. The stadium has 2,000 club seats, 10 field suites, a VIP entrance, 33 premium suites, 3,000 Nordecke seats for very into to it fans. My daughter was able to get access to the premium Huntington Field Club. Other premium seats can be found in River Club and Rail Club. The Huntington Club has field access, bar area, TV screens to watch the game, as well as, field access and views. The seats were very comfortable. Food choices can be found distributed on the concourse with the highlights being local food and alcohol vendors. The Gemut Beirgarten, Crafted Culture Brewing and The Pub Restaurant standout for serving alcohol. Eating venues include locals as well. Hot Chicken Takeout which was excellent. Other local choices were Schmidt's, Barnos Tacos, Dirty Franks, Donatos Pizza, Des Hermanos, Preston's Burger Joint and Legacy Steakhouse. What makes the experience great are the views of the field, the intimacy of a relatively small modern stadium, and the really great Columbus Crew fans. It is Major League Soccer done right from ticket purchase on the Columbus Crew ap to easy pass entrance, to high tech screens, to small intimate views of the field to food and alcohol selections.

    Tie game (2-2).

I went to my first professional soccer match at the inaugural game for the Columbus Crew Soccer Club in their new stadium. It was better than I ever could have expected. First, the energy of the fans was infectious. The Crew gave out flags which I was happy about since I didn't have any Crew gear to wear (last minute decision to go). We got our flags then went to The Pub and got a great seat for people watching. The only unfortunate part was there was no red wine to be had in the whole place, but that's an easy fix. We wandered around the stadium. It's beautiful and has many dining choices. Our choice was the gyro food truck on the front courtyard where the band was playing (they opened the gates at 3:30 for a 5:00 match so there was plenty of time to take in the other entertainment). We made our way to our seats and they were great, although from what I could see there probably isn't a bad seat in the house. The game was so much fun! I knew soccer had a quick pace, but to see it in person (and such a great team) made all the difference. It ended in a tie which I thought had to be broken. I was kind of disappointed when my husband said they don't have tie-breakers anymore. My husband of almost 8 years has always introduced me to fun things. This was just another example and I am a forever fan. We will definitely be getting more tickets!

The most successful team in town last season actually plays football with their feet. This may be blasphemy, but the Columbus Crew are the only champions of any sort to come out of Columbus in 2008. (But don't worry - I still love you the most, Buckeyes!) The team played great all season and was really a blast to watch. The team's defense was its backbone all season long, but the goal scoring came in droves and really caused a ton of excitement. You may have come out for a few games this season against LA with the hopes of seeing a world class talent like Beckham. More than likely when you left you realized that the Crew was gifted with several world class talents. From the captain Frankie Hejduk, who plays for the US National Team, to Guillermo Schelotto, who is destined to play for the Argentinian National Team. Columbus has a great chance to come back and repeat again next year. Unfortunately, our championship winning coach Sigi Schmid has left the team. He did a great job bringing together some of the veterans with the amazing cast of young talents. Now that the team is weathered, hopefully Robert Warzycha of Poland can continue the success. There is reason to be excited about Warzycha. He has been with the Columbus Crew since the very beginning. He joined the team in the inaugural season and scored 19 goals in his 7 seasons as a player. Warzycha still holds the team record for assists with 61. He has spent his time since retiring as a player as an Assistant Coach with the Crew, and his time is now. I'm not the biggest soccer fan, but I do enjoy it now and then as I used to play when I was younger. And there's nothing like sporting your black and gold to a rowdy soccer game with lots and lots of beer.

What is the old crew stadium now called?

It is called the "historic crew Stadium" due to it being the very first soccer specific stadium built for the MSL in the USA

Since joining the NHL and beginning play in the 2000-01 season, the Columbus Blue Jackets have…read moreranked in the bottom 10 of the league, all time, in terms of point percentage. The Jackets haven't won a single division or conference championship and they've routinely finished between the bottom to middle of the conference standings (Columbus moved from the Western Conference to the Eastern Conference beginning with the 2013-14 season). On the bright side, the team has qualified for the playoffs five out of the last seven years. This stretch includes four straight playoff appearances from 2017 to 2020, so I guess you could say things have been looking up. Much of CBJ's recent success can be attributed to current head coach John Tortorella who was hired mid-season in October 2015. Torts has been coaching in the NHL since the 1999-2000 season. He's best known for leading the Tampa Bay Lightning to the 2004 Stanley Cup. Under his leadership, the Lightning won their first Cup and became the southernmost team to do so. Throughout his career, Torts' teams have made the playoffs more often than not and that's certainly been the case so far during his tenure in Columbus (he's currently four for five). Now 62, how much Torts has left in the tank as an NHL coach remains to be seen. Former left winger Rick Nash is probably Columbus' best-known hockey player. So far, he's been the Jackets' only No. 1 overall draft pick (2002) and he's presently the team's career-leader in many statistical offensive categories including points (547), goals (289), and assists (258). No other Jackets player has come close to Nash's records yet. He spent the first nine of his 16 NHL seasons with Columbus (2002-2012). Also, he won Olympic gold medals in 2010 and 2014 as a member of Team Canada. Among goaltenders in team history, Sergei Bobrovsky dominated in terms of total wins (213) and shutouts (33), goals-against average (2.41), and save percentage (.921). Bob spent seven years as a goalie for CBJ (2012-2019). During that time, he made the NHL All-Star First Team twice (2013 and 2017). Bobrovsky and Nash only played once together in the NHL All-Star Game. Fittingly, that year's All-Star Game (2015) was held in Columbus. Bob made two All-Star Game appearances and Nash six (five as a Jacket). The Jackets play at Nationwide Arena which opened the same time as the team's first season. The arena is located on the north side of downtown Columbus and has a seating capacity of 18,500 for Jackets games. The Jackets' practice rink, the OhioHealth Ice Haus, is attached and open for public skating at certain times. When attending a Blue Jackets game, there are signs that direct you to the arena's adjacent parking garages.

Featured events throughout the season include dime-a-dog nights (picture people eating 10 cent hotdogs!), several typical daytime "Businessman Special" games, and various other special events. The park has been known to have fireworks. One of my absolute favorite features of this ballpark, is along the second baseline. That part of the field has "windows" in the brick wall at the street level, whereby individuals who want to see the game, but for whatever reason don't have a ticket can watch the whole thing unfold from the sidewalk. For individuals who can't acquire tickets for themselves or their children this is a wonderful feature, whereby they can still enjoy a professional baseball game. Hats off to the Clippers organization for incorporating this thoughtful design into their facility. Ample parking is close by. And usually this parking fairly reasonably priced. Be aware that the hockey arena and the soccer stadium are both close by, as well as other entertainment venues. In the height of summer, this can sometimes make for a very busy entertainment district. So be sure and check the schedule of what's going on at the other venues, You may need some extra time to arrive and navigate your way to the ballpark. Get ready to sing the tag line of this song: "Columbus Clippers, Ring Your Bell!!!"
