View from section 106 row 15 at the Dayton Dragons ballpark. Nice and shady seating area.

Looking for something to do in Dayton? Check out the Dayton Dragons! Great time for a family outing and plenty of food and drink options inside and around the ballpark. Tickets are affordable and the stadium as a whole is nice and well kept. Have been here many times and will come here many more I'm sure.

What a fantastic evening in the Gem City, the Dayton Dragons and their whole operation is a huge win for Dayton. 9 of us came down for a game and were able to all sit together down the 1st base side. We got tickets the night of, but I normally wouldn't wait till game time to do it, Dayton loves their Dragons. Day Air Ball Park is gorgeous right in the middle of downtown and across the street from Riverscape. They have great concession stands with good prices an amazing team store (series there is a ton of stuff I'd love to get in that store) and they have some good local craft beer from Moller Brew Barn and a few others I believe. And the team is very fun to watch, came back from 3 down for a walk off in the bottom of the 9th. There is not a bad seat in the stadium, but I wonder how hard it might be to see from the lawn seats when the sun is going down. Stadium seats are $19 and lawn seats are $9. The whole environment is so fun, great games between innings, lots of chances to get on the big screen, good music, trivia contest, free shirts and hats tossed out to the crowd, my 5 year old got a hat (man it pays to be cute) and there is. The kids love Heater and Gem and I heard Roofman and Wink are epic as well, I mean with names like that, don't you just want to go to check it out? They also had a Roosters Food truck outside before the game and Lock 27 Brewery is literally right outside the main gate. You also have a Winans (best coffee in Dayton) and a brand new Flyboys deli both next to each other. So you got your options before the game or during the game it's a win win and if you get down there a little early you can most likely get free street parking and not have to pay to park. A Dragons game is great for family or a night with the guys or just you and your spouse or friend. You'll love it and want to come back for me, having the Dragons in town is awesome and if you have kids don't miss the amazing deal you get by joining the Kid's Club for just $19.99, it's a deal you can't pass up (check my pictures to see the deal) and it's seriously a deal. It's almost so good you think there is a catch, but no catch indeed. GO DRAGONS!!

We love this place. It's always like a home town feel. No matter what seats you're in, you are so close to the game. Seats(?) can be as cheap as $5 but technically, they consider the grass in the outfield a 'seat'. Hot dog and beer are a must but the one thing I always get when here are the bbq nachos at the smoker stand that's along the outside fence along 3rd base line. Parking is always interesting but it's not like it's hard to find and the walk isn't too bad. They put up netting along the baselines a few years back to protect us from foul balls so that's nice. The players chat with the fans, the folks working here are always super nice. It's a perfect place to spend a beautiful summer night. I'd almost consider it a 'hot date' night if you and the so are in to baseball.

Fun atmosphere - not a bad seat in the house. Plenty of open areas in the sun or shade to enjoy the game and concessions.

    Having fun at the game

4 of us watched the Dayton Dragons play at 5/3 Field last night. We had great seats and it was a fun to watch. Even the quiet times between innings were filled with talented dogs doing tricks, baby races and the mascots entertaining the crowd. People around us were friendly and were there to have a good time. I'd recommend it for a nice evening. One additional comment: be prepared to pay much more than what might be reasonable (as with most stadium events.)

Our whole family had an opportunity to watch The Dayton Dragons play on Mother's Day. We all had a great time & the food at the ballpark was fantastic. We even held the elevator for GEM as we were leaving and got a last minute photo opp! Please tell your staff they were fantastic today! We can't wait to come back! #FamilyFirst #DaytonDragons #MothersDay #FamilyTime

DayAir Park is an excellent place to take in a MiLB ball game. It is much livelier than the Columbus Clippers ball park.

The actual field is beautiful so props to the grounds guys. The promo team is awesome too. Constant action, fun games and great music. I've got to give the lead mic girl major props. I've been to several Midwest league teams and she is hands down the best!! Why three stars? Parking is horrendous, right downtown and if you get there late and other events are going on you could find yourself paying to park blocks from the stadium and, to be honest, it's not a city I want to be walking by myself in after dark. If you walk in from E 1st street side at any time before, during or after the game you risk the hazard of lung cancer as all the smokers (field employees too) are lined up on both sides smoking away. Absolutely awful. Lastly, the rows of seats go almost 30 deep. If you get stuck in the middle you better hope you don't need to get up. If you're on the ends, plan to be letting people in and out all night.

Not a friendly staff. Very authoritarian but seems selective. Disappointed my grandson just when he was starting to like baseball.

Good entertainment...but their instant replays aren't always from the same night. Very disappointing.

Since joining the NHL and beginning play in the 2000-01 season, the Columbus Blue Jackets have…read moreranked in the bottom 10 of the league, all time, in terms of point percentage. The Jackets haven't won a single division or conference championship and they've routinely finished between the bottom to middle of the conference standings (Columbus moved from the Western Conference to the Eastern Conference beginning with the 2013-14 season). On the bright side, the team has qualified for the playoffs five out of the last seven years. This stretch includes four straight playoff appearances from 2017 to 2020, so I guess you could say things have been looking up. Much of CBJ's recent success can be attributed to current head coach John Tortorella who was hired mid-season in October 2015. Torts has been coaching in the NHL since the 1999-2000 season. He's best known for leading the Tampa Bay Lightning to the 2004 Stanley Cup. Under his leadership, the Lightning won their first Cup and became the southernmost team to do so. Throughout his career, Torts' teams have made the playoffs more often than not and that's certainly been the case so far during his tenure in Columbus (he's currently four for five). Now 62, how much Torts has left in the tank as an NHL coach remains to be seen. Former left winger Rick Nash is probably Columbus' best-known hockey player. So far, he's been the Jackets' only No. 1 overall draft pick (2002) and he's presently the team's career-leader in many statistical offensive categories including points (547), goals (289), and assists (258). No other Jackets player has come close to Nash's records yet. He spent the first nine of his 16 NHL seasons with Columbus (2002-2012). Also, he won Olympic gold medals in 2010 and 2014 as a member of Team Canada. Among goaltenders in team history, Sergei Bobrovsky dominated in terms of total wins (213) and shutouts (33), goals-against average (2.41), and save percentage (.921). Bob spent seven years as a goalie for CBJ (2012-2019). During that time, he made the NHL All-Star First Team twice (2013 and 2017). Bobrovsky and Nash only played once together in the NHL All-Star Game. Fittingly, that year's All-Star Game (2015) was held in Columbus. Bob made two All-Star Game appearances and Nash six (five as a Jacket). The Jackets play at Nationwide Arena which opened the same time as the team's first season. The arena is located on the north side of downtown Columbus and has a seating capacity of 18,500 for Jackets games. The Jackets' practice rink, the OhioHealth Ice Haus, is attached and open for public skating at certain times. When attending a Blue Jackets game, there are signs that direct you to the arena's adjacent parking garages.

Featured events throughout the season include dime-a-dog nights (picture people eating 10 cent hotdogs!), several typical daytime "Businessman Special" games, and various other special events. The park has been known to have fireworks. One of my absolute favorite features of this ballpark, is along the second baseline. That part of the field has "windows" in the brick wall at the street level, whereby individuals who want to see the game, but for whatever reason don't have a ticket can watch the whole thing unfold from the sidewalk. For individuals who can't acquire tickets for themselves or their children this is a wonderful feature, whereby they can still enjoy a professional baseball game. Hats off to the Clippers organization for incorporating this thoughtful design into their facility. Ample parking is close by. And usually this parking fairly reasonably priced. Be aware that the hockey arena and the soccer stadium are both close by, as well as other entertainment venues. In the height of summer, this can sometimes make for a very busy entertainment district. So be sure and check the schedule of what's going on at the other venues, You may need some extra time to arrive and navigate your way to the ballpark.
