When I come for lunch, I generally get the soup. They make the soup fresh (from scratch). It's delicious. I've also had the pork bbq lunch entree, which is paid for by the ounce, and was just ok. There is always something interesting going on in the Cafeteria. Today's Blood Drive brought in the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra and Ballet Hawaii. Last time I was here, a telethon brought in many celebrities. Parking is a challenge. Paid parking is expensive. Street parking is a gift to find.

Now what cafeteria boasts having a Starbucks...yup with all the cups and yummies, whenever I do a late night search for a Starbucks on the app that's open this is the only location that gives the green light, though for obvious reasons the cafeteria is open 24hrs Starbucks is open until 1:30am. Besides a Starbucks is a beautiful you need to check out their mini food court, a "pizza" section by the slice or a whole pie, "simmer" where you can get comfort in a bowl with some hot soup today it was Garden Vegetable and Bacon Corn Chowder, "Bistro" is the hot stuff...burgers, sandwiches, hotdogs, and "sips" which is a self serve station for drinks. There's an impressive section filled with grab and go drinks and snacks for easy traveling. I wished that I could take more pics of this awesome cafeteria but with someone in each corner I respectfully didn't want to do that but appreciate the lovely service given here making it a great place to relax and chill. Chef Mike was serving people from behind the counter and was very welcoming. The guy in front of me got meatloaf and he had a choice of chili or gravy. The chili look great so I was going to get the same thing but then I saw someone getting the salmon katsu. Chef Mike generously gave me a scoop of the chili to taste. It was delicious! Everything was delicious, the crunchy salmon, potato macaroni salad with big hunks of potato and of course the delicious chili. If I get chosen to serve on the jury, I'll definitely be back!

Once I stepped foot into the room I noticed that for birth certificates needed to be filled online and there's a line for the computer. I quickly exited the vital records room. I entered the lobby area and asked the security if it was alright to go up to the snack shop. He said go right ahead it's on the 5th floor. As soon as I stepped foot into the snack shop I noticed the tables and chairs. There's the chip stand, Pepsi refrigerator with Pepsi products, Coke refrigerator with Coke products, another refrigerator with bottle waters, sandwiches, and candies. There's also a shelf with breakfast items. There's a steamer with spam musubi ($1.75), spam musubi w/egg ($2.00), corn chowder ($3.00), fried rice ($3.50) and Nathan's hot dog ($1.75). The worker in charge of the snack shop is very friendly and she had me laughing. The down side of this snack shop are the empty boxes near the trash can, low snack and drink products, low condiments for the coffee drinkers. At least there's a view of the surrounding buildings.
