Chef Mike and his team hook me up with all my catering events. They do an outstanding job no matter what budget I give.

Can't go near the entrance of the building without inhaling the 2nd hand cigarette smoke. Awful!

Oasis in a cafeteria…read more.. It's basically the vibe it bring as soon as I walked in as this massive space was so thoughtfully planned out with beautiful lighting and various types of seating areas weather you're hungry or just need a break with a bit of "recharge" this is a phenomenal place. Now what cafeteria boasts having a Starbucks...yup with all the cups and yummies, whenever I do a late night search for a Starbucks on the app that's open this is the only location that gives the green light, though for obvious reasons the cafeteria is open 24hrs Starbucks is open until 1:30am. Besides a Starbucks is a beautiful you need to check out their mini food court, a "pizza" section by the slice or a whole pie, "simmer" where you can get comfort in a bowl with some hot soup today it was Garden Vegetable and Bacon Corn Chowder, "Bistro" is the hot stuff...burgers, sandwiches, hotdogs, and "sips" which is a self serve station for drinks. There's an impressive section filled with grab and go drinks and snacks for easy traveling. I wished that I could take more pics of this awesome cafeteria but with someone in each corner I respectfully didn't want to do that but appreciate the lovely service given here making it a great place to relax and chill. Thank you!

Today, I just had coffee. Where else in Honolulu can you get a good cup of coffee for $1.25. There is a Starbucks within the complex, but I prefer the cafeteria coffee. When I come for lunch, I generally get the soup. They make the soup fresh (from scratch). It's delicious. I've also had the pork bbq lunch entree, which is paid for by the ounce, and was just ok. There is always something interesting going on in the Cafeteria. Today's Blood Drive brought in the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra and Ballet Hawaii. Last time I was here, a telethon brought in many celebrities. Parking is a challenge. Paid parking is expensive. Street parking is a gift to find.

"Review of the mundane- the college cafeteria"…read more Kapiolani Community College has several eating options which range from vending machines to upscale culinary offerings at their dining facilities. In the great in-between lies the cafeteria, located along the great KCC lawn, across from the Lama Library. It is located on the Makai side of the campus. The main cafeteria area has satisfactory seating for this campus and also has a small stage area for presentations/ entertainment. The AC is excellent and is a refuge from the heat and humidity of a hot day. Breakfast is served every weekday morning till 10am. Non-Grill breakfast items are serve yourself and sold by the oz. includes, fried, white and brown rice ( sold by the scoop) and tater tots, scrambled eggs, pork sausage, smoky joes. This limited breakfast buffet is ok, nothing to write home about. If you get your scrambled eggs from the tray after 9am the pickings can be slim and rubbery. At that point I'd stick with their baked goods and coffee for a morning jolt. They sell their delicious scones and biscuits in limited quantities. Lots of beverages, cold and hot, delicious hot entrees for lunch including bentos sometimes. They do not provide cafeteria service after mid-afternoon. Evening meal options on campus are the fine dining Ka Ikena and basically the vending machines. An average college cafeteria with pleasant workers and decent grub. Not the best, not the worst, seems to serve it's primary clientele satisfactorily.

Recently remodeled, the cafeteria has been freshened up and the views are as gorgeous as ever…read more Great deals on food can be found- the lunch and breakfast specials are pretty tasty, and the bentos are good. Also check out the pastries, which change daily. They should definitely bring back the kimchi bacon cheeseburgers and chicken & waffles though ;-)

A surprisingly good place to meet up with someone right on the outskirts of downtown Honolulu. We…read morewere able to have a fairly quiet business meeting right at noon as it appears classes were in session and it did not get busy until about 1:30pm. I liked the clean, contemporary look - not at all like a typical student cafeteria. High ceilings, lots of windows with an view of the harbor, and an option for outdoor patio seating. Lunch options were good for the $15 price, all you can eat so you can mix it up. Today was pizza day so I tried a slice - nothing out of the ordinary but it's hard to mess up pizza. They have a grill menu - chicken or ribs today. They also had a pasta of the day. I enjoyed the salad bar which had a good amount of options. Soup and salad was also available. Besides soft drinks, there was a good selection of juices and infused waters and the coffee options were great. For desert, they had cookies but I understand they bake daily so the option changes. There was also fresh fruits - whole or sliced. I hear that the most popular day is Wednesday "poke" day, but for me, I'd go on the less popular days and opt for some quieter time.

You can get validation when you pay. One really cannot beat the value of this AYCE restaurant. Breakfast is $10, brunch/lunch is $15 and dinner is $18. They even have a late night special after 9pm ($15)! I came here on a Friday for lunch with some friends. You will enter and pay before dining. We got there at the right time of 11am because a line formed out the door behind us. It was a mix of customers and HPU students. A large party was in front of us and they decided to paid one at a time which probably attributed to the line. They only accept debit or credit as a heads up. When you enter, you'll have the trash and dirty plates immediately to your left. Directly in front of you is the cookie, poke bowl, salad bar and hot bar station. I was told the hot bar menu changes daily. To the right is where you can get pizzas or burgers. In the far back is the utensils and drinks (coffee, fountain soda and infused water). Tables are inside and outside but only inside has AC. Even though we got there at 11am, there were no seats available inside so we had to sit outside. All the customers inside were from breakfast or brunch. It was rather warm outside but the view of the water wasn't bad. Sitting inside would be ideal due to the AC. Hopefully you'll be luckier than we were. The cashier made some jokes while we were in line and paying. Everyone was friendly and helpful. One thing though, my burger wasn't made exactly how I wanted it. I think the guy just assumed I wanted the same cheese as my friend but it was busy and it could happen to anyone. At least Cheddar was less calories than what I planned to order. The burger and poke bowl stations will accommodate if you don't want rice or the burger bun. I got poke without rice and used lettuce as my bun to be healthier. My friends did say the rice was hard. Don't worry, the poke is good and will make up for it. Maybe it was just a bad batch of rice? Their menu lists how many calories are in each item if you're counting calories. You're also able to purchase other drinks in the fridge by the cashier if you don't care for the beverages included with the buffet. Overall, solid AYCE spot where you can take home food that you don't finish. Great value geared toward the college student budget and appetite. 3.5 stars. **A few people asked me why 3.5 stars. They probably didn't expect such a crowd so they probably weren't adequately prepared. The staff still needs to work on timing of dishes, pizza and burgers. At one point, there were no clean plates, pizza was out and the burger line was really long. My burger wasn't the way I wanted but I took it because I didn't want to wait again. Once these issues are addressed, solid 4 star restaurant!

Service: The service was super courteous Ambiance: It was very clean inside. Food: We all got different things and I have to say everything was delicious! * Souffle Pancake: My wife got this and I am not a pancake eater but I was intrigued and I tried it and well I had SEVERAL bites b/c it was so good (the picture doesn't do the presentation justice). * Eggs and bacon: My older son got his trusted breakfast and he loved it. * Acai Bowl: My younger son got the acai bowl and loved it. * Veggie Omelette: I got my veggie omelette and it was so tasty (with egg white and cheddar).

It's a small, but very kitschy little dining room that fits at most 20 tables so definitely go early or pack your patience as you wait for an opening. However, the service is fast, but friendly and they are able to turn the tables with extreme proficiency and also making you feel welcomed. The items to get at Aloha Kitchen are its souffle pancakes and loco moco. The souffle pancakes is essentially the size of the plate that it came on, but because of the airness and lightness of it's execution, you leave feeling full but not weighted down by normal carbs. The recommendation is the coconut macadamia nut pancake with its unique combination of flavor and textures. The other local item is their loco moco. Get it in its tradition form with the hamburger patty with an egg over easy, but add the spam fried rice over the white rice. The combination of flavors along with its terrific gravy makes this a can't miss item on your stay in Hawaii. The one thing to be aware of is, the will announce the name quickly and only a few times and if you're not present after the first few announcements, you'll be marked as a "no show" and will have to go back to the end of the line, so definitely wait out front if you're there any later than opening. Otherwise, in a sea of numerous breakfast spots in Waikiki, Aloha Kitchen really does stand out. I only wish they had a bigger space, but wonder if that would take away from the charm of this space.
