It's a pretty cool Concept, but it can be a bit confusing and intimidating. What ingredients pair with what others?? Ohana is a great spot for fresh, clean, colorful food in the downtown-ish area. I was very pleased with the flavor of the fish (tuna and salmon). The man working was very patient to work with me on getting exactly what I wanted. They have several base options and even have gluten free sauces. The customer space was very clean, as was the counter space where the food is prepped. I ordered the rainbow bowl (about $15) and felt like the quality, flavor, and size was worth the price. The Avocado was perfectly ripe, the rice was perfectly sticky. I felt the sauce was exactly the correct amount. It's easy to drown things in sauce, but they used it properly as a compliment. I just moved my mom down into fairhope and was so happy to see a Poke restaurant in town!! The building is so cute and inside is so clean! I ordered a build your own bowl online and it was ready for me when I got there and was even able to get extra sauces for my bowl as you can see in the picture because they were so amazing! I definitely recommend the wasabi mayo, that was amazing. The only complaint I have is that I was a little upset to pay $1 more for avocado and only getting 2 small slices inside my bowl, I expected a little more. We found this place on Yelp during an afternoon of wandering the local area like tourists. To say it's a diamond in the rough is putting it lightly. This place is great. I first visited this restaurant while on a 4-5 mile walk about Fairhope AL with my dog. It was starting to heat up in the afternoon and we were both getting THIRSTY. "Ohana means family" is what they say. I never really understood that phrase until my experience here. I had ordered their well-known Ohana Poke Bowl, and I was blown away by the wonderful taste. I felt like I was once again on the beaches of Maui, drinking a Sex on the Beach and having two hot hawaiian babes under each arm. I was lost in thought when I realized I made a grave mistake. In my excitement, I ordered a dish that had tuna within it - a meat that makes Vietnam-era napalm runs look like child's play within my bowels. Before I knew what had hit me, I soiled myself, trusting what I thought was harmless gas. All the tables looked at me in shock and horror. Mothers shielded their children's eyes, and fathers began weeping all around me. The deluge of my innards didn't cease, even after I picked up the last of my runny dignity and made to the bathroom that rivaled that of professional line backers. I bombed the bathroom, the sounds surely being similar to those during Pearl Harbor. I was on my hands and knees before the porcelain throne, praying to God that He save my soul from surely what was Satan himself making a mockery of His creation. It felt like hours, my body near withering as my poor taint was violated beyond recognition. Broken and beat, I was sure that I was going to be promptly kicked from the restaurant when I inevitably emerged from my decimated bunker. It was to my shock that, instead, my meal was given for free and I was given free Poke coupons for when I came back. The employees at Ohana had my back from when I was at my all time lowest. I cannot begin to recommend this restaurant and it's workers enough. They will treat you like family, and pick you up at your all time lowest of lows. You could tell they take great care in fixing the bowls for you and they use super fresh ingredients. I got the Salmon and Octopus and OMG it was heavenly.
