Such friendly staff and OMG the most incredible food! So many choices and server and staff will explain what each food item is if you don't know. I just wish Dumpling House was closer to where I live, but totally worth my trip there! read more

Great food , loved the pan fried dumpling, steamed not do much , just the texture is way different, they tasted ok though . It was freezing in there , that was a con . read more

I mean it not a fancy place, but they bust out some great food in the bustling little establishment. portion sizes were great, the food was flavorful and quick to come out. The staff are all super friendly, and everyone was just working their tails off. If you're in the mood for some dumplings, rice, bowls, or noodle dishes, This is a go to for me. The pictures were a bit off, putting on their site which made me almost not go. However, my son said it sounded good and we went, and so glad we did! read more

Admittedly we've never had this cuisine before so I can't compare it to other places but if you're looking for a great meal at a really good price with a friendly staff, I highly recommend OG Dumpling House. The bbq pork bao left us wanting to try all of the options for steamed bao. The crab and pork xiao long bao was so full of flavor I wish I had more room. The house dumplings were so good they were gone in seconds. Can't wait to return to try more delicious cuisine! read more

First time here. We had lo mein, dumplings, bao, and sesame chicken. Everything was fantastic! Will go back when I need a step above Chinese takeout. read more

I love that their dishes aren't too expensive so you can try multiple different things and get a feel for what you like. Definitely loved their beef lo mein with the glass noodles, fried calamari, and their deep fried cheese cake. A must try! read more

Not much to look at from the outside. I think it's in the old mighty taco facility, right across from Southtown Plaza. But it's definitely worth the stop, excellent Dim Sum. Dumplings are fantastic. Service is chaotic but overall experience was great. The tofu was maybe the best I have had. read more

I believe this used to be a Del Taco, where I think I got food poisoning once. Fortunately this place is much better than that place. Obviously dumplings are what one gets here although I was happy to see some other Chinese items such as Dan Dan noodles. I walked in and ordered xiao long bao ( soup dumplings), steamed pork and Napa dumplings, szechuan wonton. These are definitely homemade and handmade. The dumplings themselves are much thicker than one finds from most Chinese restaurants - which are usually frozen (sorry to disappoint - I buy them frozen from Asia market and at most other Chinese restaurants in town, it's the same...). Personally I think the thicker "skin" is better pan fried than steamed. The xiao long bao had good soup to it and didn't leak, and the Szechuan wonton had the requisite spice to them and fortunately not watered down, which sometimes happens. Btw, they do have a drive up window, which is great in terms of social distancing. I would go back next time I am out that neck of the woods. Now that Crepe n Go (who I believe was initially opened by the owner of this restaurant, but please correct me if this is not true) seems to be closed, only 1 or 2 other places have xiao long bao... read more

We purchase alot of food for a lot of money. Only the Pork Belly Buns were acceptable. The dumplings had to much scallion and cabbage . The Thai was flat, the fried noodles looked boiled. Not a place I'd visit again. A waste of money for sure. read more

Absolutely delicious food. This is my favorite place to eat. I usually get takeout so I'm not sure how service os but food is so so good! read more

Went there for lunch on a busy Saturday. Got seated right away, and the service was excellent. Food came out very quickly. We had the pork and chive dumplings and the dan dan noodles. Both were great! read more

Who doesn't love dumplings? I have had my eye on Dumpling House ever since they opened in the old Mighty Taco building (RIP Mighty Taco). I finally decided to try it for lunch, and was not disappointed! Because I ordered delivery, I don't have anything to say about the actual establishment itself. The menu offers (obviously) a variety of dumplings, but they also have some noodle and rice dishes available as well. I opted for the pork and chive fried dumplings and crab rangoon. I was very pleased with both! I saw some reviews saying that the dumplings were bland, but I did not have that experience here. My dumplings were flavorful and the perfect combination of chewy and crispy. I also loved the spicy sweet chili sauce with the rangoon. The only complaint I have is the lack of descriptions and/or pictures on the online menu when ordering takeout. I was a little confused by some of the items and had to Google a few things to understand what was what. It wasn't a big deal, but I would have like pictures or descriptions on the menu to make ordering a little easier for first-timers. All in all, this place was delicious and will likely be added into the lunch rotation! read more

I had my food delivered, and let me tell you, they came still streaming and hot! I ordered the pork and chive dumplings, oh so good! I also ordered the szechuan wantons, they were good but I probably wouldn't order them again. Sorry I didn't get any pics, I was hungry! read more

Simple and good. Pork belly pancakes things were a real winner. And so was the waiter Frank! He joyfully made our whole order and everything was simple and terrific. read more

Been here twice in the last week because my son an I are sukckers for dumplings. The food was very good and fresh. Son had the soup dumplings. I had Szechuan wontons and spicy beef noodle soup. All was very tasty and fresh. But, for a restaurant that bills it's dishes as Szechuan, I would expect it to be much spicier. Thank you for the response! I did have extra chili oil; but it's the Szechuan peppercorns I cant get enough of! read more

A favorite of ours, always delicious and lots of options to try. Don't pass on them! We always do order ahead for pick up and they have a drive through strictly for order ahead pick up so it's usually quick and easy read more

I've been told this is a good place for Chinese food. I've been a couple times but have had under seasoned food every time. I have had the pan fried pork and chive dumplings, the pork fried rice and the general Tao's chicken twice. I can't recommend this place as it's average so the search for a go to Chinese takeout place continues! read more

After Tsing Tao house turned into a cantonese restaurant, there were no more northern Chinese restaurant specializing in homemade noodles and dumplings.... until this restaurant opened! I was so pleased to see that the original owner of Crepe n go stepping into this new adventure. His reputation from crepe n go and Bistro Han is solid and food has always been authentic! Concerning the food, the dumplings are handmade and delicious, not the store bought frozen one you see at other restaurants. The dumpling wrappers are hand knead, exactly how a Chinese mom makes it. The filling is flavorful. We had the steamed one, which are healthier than pan fried. Another thing that you cannot get anywhere else in Rochester is Chinese Kebabs. They are very popular in China. They have introduced lots of other meats and veggies to suit local taste. The beef kebabs are well grilled and tender. The glaze is so flavorful that you will want seconds and thirds. In all, I agree with other comments about supporting local business. This is truly a place that wants to bring authentic Chinese food to Rochester. It is not your typical Chinese take out. Therefore, even if it is a couple dollars more than some other places, This place is worth supporting. Concerning the wait time, which restaurant doesn't have growing pain? Give them some time and I am sure they will be speedier! read more

First time visiting - good food. I ordered the Lanzhou Spicy Beef Noodle soup... buyer beware - this is easily a serving for two people!! If you are really hungry this would be a good choice! Also ordered the Pork & Napa Fried Dumplings - very tasty but very doughy... not what I am use to for a dumpling. Again, it's a very filling dish read more

This was our first trip to OG's and it went like this...First off plenty of plaza parking so that's cool...Second the room was open and clean with the only downside being the constant bass thumping music that rattled the window next to our table, not sure why they feel this helps business...Anyway onto the staff, very friendly folks for sure, so that's always nice when ordering food...Now onto the food...So there's a limited but fair amount of dishes to choose from and the prices seem a tad high for the portions, but then again what's not high right now?...We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, the Pork Belly Buns and some Chicken dumplings, all were tasty enough, but not fantastic...The winner I guess would be the Pork Belly Buns overall not a bad meal...We had ice cold diet Coke in the can, which worked to cool us down...The damage with tip $43 dollars...So I guess I would say that you should give them a try for yourself and remember, it's not gonna be mind blowing, but then again it might be for you...Oh and super speedy meal arrivals...NAMASTE` read more

Delicious food. They have some yummy things that you won't find in a chain or generic Chinese restaurant. I like the pork belly bun, and especially the xiao long bao (a mouthful of soup in a bun). And please forgive the spelling! read more

As the name implies, this is a dumpling and they did in fact slap. As well as the bao. BUT the dinner was super upsetting and tasted odd. I honestly could not put my finger on it but it's definitely a taste I've never experienced that left a strange feeling on my tongue. I would recommend just getting dumplings and bao. read more

I came here with my wife for an early dinner around 4:30. The place was not busy, maybe only 3 or 4 tables were occupied, but it took a while for the server to get to us. We got beef bao, chive and pork dumplings, and lamb and carrot dumplings. We liked the fact that they make the dough in house. The filling could use some more seasoning. The price is a bit high for the amount of food, but not outrageous. After we were done, we went to the counter to pay. I personally wish that places that did this would have a sign or something so we're not just sitting their wondering what to do. Overall, good but not great. read more

If you're craving dumplings, this place is on the top of my list. The restaurant has comfortable seating with a modern-meets-traditional flare. The service is fast and efficient despite being fairly busy each time we visited. The menu is varied, including several types of dumplings, steamed bao, & pork buns, as well as some of the traditional fare found in most Chinese restaurants. We've visited several times, trying different dishes each time. The House dumplings, fried, are a favorite, as well as the xao long bao & pork buns. All the dumplings we tried were delicious! The scallion pancake was full of paper-thin layers & crispy edges. Won ton soup has delightfully delicate, almost transparent, pork wontons and baby bok choy swimming in a savory broth. For dessert we had the mini sesame balls which were just the right texture of chewy with the lightly sweet bean paste filling. We were actually in town for three days and enjoyed this place so much we had either lunch or dinner here each day! read more

I tried this place for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised. I had the Xaio Long Bao, the pork belly buns and the calamari which were all delicious. The calamari was a bit overdone, but still really good. There are so many other good things that I look forward to trying out so it looks like I'll be a pretty steady customer there. The service was amazing. The waitstaff were all very friendly and the food was delivered promptly. read more

There's room for improvement! I got the Japanese curry beef, steamed vegetarian bao zi, and stole some edamame from my friend. It's hard to mess up edamame and they didn't; it wasn't too salty. My bao zi was fine but I think I would have preferred pork. The Japanese curry beef was disappointing- I wished there were more carrots and potatoes. There was a LOT of fat that I had to trim off the beef. Otherwise, the taste was good and my friends seemed satisfied with their dumplings. read more

Dumpling House in the old Mighty Taco spot. I've been 3 times and they have each been better than the last. I've ordered the xio lon bao all 3 times which should show that I enjoy it. We ordered the pork cabbage dumpling the first time which was super flavorful and crunchy. We ordered the dan dan noodle this most recent time. It's more of a soup than a straight up noodle dish but it's definitely dan dan noodle and the noodles are made in house which is a plus. I would recommend Dumpling House to anyone looking for an easy and delicious way to get acquainted with dumplings, buns, and noodle dishes. read more

There was only one waiter serving at the time we walked in. At the beginning, he was friendly and served us water. Then he came over for the order. I asked him if we could speak Chinese. He goes "yes I understand Chinese, you can speak Chinese to me. But most of the time I just pretend that I don't know Chinese because Chinese customers are pain in the butt." Okay I'm a Chinese and I never thought I would be treated like this in a Chinese restaurant!!!!! We came here to support local business and Asian owned business and this is what we get??! Your menu has Chinese characters on it! We're extremely disappointed and upset. Obviously this Chinese dumpling house does not welcome Chinese!!! read more

Very good food nice staff. My son and his friends really enjoyed it. They are college students.

12/19/19: Good, but not sanitary and way too expensive! I got the pork and chive dumplings and pork kebab. And, both items were pretty tasty. They were probably the best dumplings I've had, at least in a long time, in Rochester. And, the pork kebabs were nicely flavored and pretty tender. BUT, I think those items, and probably the whole menu, is kind of over-priced. The dumplings were $7 for eight, very small dumplings. And, the pork kebabs were $6 for 3 tiny kebabs. For example, Coco Garden, in the same plaza sells absolutely delicious dumplings for $6 (eight of them) and five larger pieces of satay for $8. Chen Garden sells 10 larger dumplings for $5.55 and four larger pieces of satay for $5.95. (Not that Chen Garden is as good.) I think if they just brought the prices down by a dollar or increased the size of the portion, they'd sell a lot more food. They are probably in part catering to the very large Chinese student population close to them. Can students really afford those prices? However, what really threw me and definitely makes me question whether I'll visit the Dumpling House again were the possible food safety infractions. One of the women making dumplings did not have a hairnet or anything covering her head. Two of the guys in back prepping or making food didn't have any head covering, either. One person that was cooking was eating near/over the food he was cooking. And, another., a server, was shoving food in his mouth, in the middle of serving food. This man had to be told by another worker to NOT put his fingers in the bowl of food when carrying it out to the customer. If those are the things that I actually witnessed, one has to wonder what else is going on behind the scenes? I want this business to succeed, because we certainly need a good dumping restaurant.....but they seriously need to reconsider their portions/prices and everyone needs to take a food safety class. UPDATE ON 1/21/20: I just wanted to point out that someone from the restaurant responds and leaves a comment when it's a GOOD review.....but, if it's not, they don't respond at all. That's not good customer relations, IMHO. read more

I am amazed by the authenticity of the food they serve here! I grew up in mainland China and had been living there for 20+ years.
