So, you might be thinking to yourself, what could have possibly riled this guy up so much? Well, as you may have guessed by their name, DJ's sells this abomination they refer to as an "Italian hot dog." Now, on paper it sounds delicious: two dogs, sautéed peppers and onions, fried potatoes like Mom used to make before her accident, served up in a nice warm fluffy roll. Except it's not in a roll. It's in a large, dry, bread pocket. A bread pouch, if you will, similar to what they use to make calzones. In fact, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure it was the bread they use for calzones. Wait, that's not how calzones are made at all. The pouch was entirely too big. Every bite was a tiny bit of hot dog then a mouthful of dough. There were hardly any peppers and onions, and you couldn't really apply condiments since it would just fill up the large cavity the ingredients were sitting in. It would have been a bowl of mush if I'd tried. For $15 absolutely not worth it. OH. It was $15 because I got the "combo," which was to come with a drink and fries. While I was waiting for my food, the lady at the register actually TALKED ME OUT OF getting my fries because "the Italian hot dog comes with potatoes in it." I was like, "Yeah, that makes sense." But then later I thought about it more and damn, I ripped myself off. I am so impressionable it's ridiculous. She just totally jedi-mindtricked me into turning something down that I paid for. The last complaint is a bit superficial, but the Italian hot dog itself just looks so freakin' dumb. If people walk by and point and laugh, just know they aren't laughing at you. They're laughing at the culinary atrocity in your hands.

The Tuesday night wing special was a nice surprise, .75 wings. Rubbed and smoked wings were very good, I liked their Alabama white sauce. Ribs were solid, nice smoke, fat rendered nicely. Spicy BBQ was very good. Cornbread was well above par. Service was very good. Owner offered samples. Cool byob, wood paneling. Parking can be challenging in the summer. We visit Spano's across the street quite often and I had noticed JSBBQ during my last visit. If I return, I will call ahead to make sure they have what I would like.

I wound up getting the shrimp Po'boy with the grilled shrimp. the only thing I have to say is that it should've been on a roll that wasn't cut all the way through as to hold the shrimp in place, otherwise it was absolutely delicious and fresh tasting. My wife had the Cowboy brisket sandwich with melted cheese and onions with au jus for dipping. We both had their coleslaw which they give a very large portion of as our one included side. She let me try some of her sandwich, absolutely amazing! The brisket melts in your mouth! I also scored the leftover half of her sandwich as the portions are quite generous. I of course finished my sandwich! I can't wait to get back to this place and try more of the delectable items on the menu. The food really is that good.

This might be my new favorite breakfast spot in Point Pleasant, and I'm almost hesitant to say that because we got in without a wait at 10 am on a Sunday and it feels like some kind of local secret. I shared the blueberry pancakes and Border Benedict with my mom. We love doing a sweet/savory split. Both were exceptionally good. The Benedict comes on a cornbread waffle and it was really special. The chipotle hollandaise was also unique and delicious! My fiancé and my aunt also really loved their meals- biscuits and gravy and a skillet. I briefly remember seeing a sign for a "Jersey Shore Cheesesteak" during the arrest scene and I was immediately intrigued. What is a "Shore Steak" and how would it measure up to its older, more mature, and more famous Philly analogue. For those who haven't been - this is what a Jersey Shore cheesesteak is like. Imagine a hybrid pita-esque pocket filled to the brim with tender beef, perfectly spiced onions and peppers (from a can of course!! You can't have it any other way) and these delicious, crunchy balls filled with sharp cheddar cheese. This is everything a sandwich is supposed to be. I don't care if you have high cholesterol - you NEED this, even if it may kill you. In a way, Snooki being arrested was a blessing because it led me to this place. Everytime I'm in seaside (which is usually once every 3 years) I will be here.
