We love this place. we usually pick up chicken and sides from here on our way home from the beach. But not only then. The young one in the home constantly requests it, Including on her birthday! Super bowl and big game fare is always from here as well. First time I ever went there I placed an $85 order all wings I asked if any blue cheese came with that order. The owner told me no ,I asked if he could throw in a couple of small 2 ounce cups of blue cheese. He told me no ,now ask me if I will ever return there my answer will be.NO! The quality of the food is bad . By bad I mean it is equal or less quality meat and food prep than you would expect from any hole in the wall open late chicken restaurant (think asbury chicken and pizza ) but somehow their prices are more expensive than high quality barbecue joints like local smoke . When you order delivery they include bizarre yellow detailed receipt with scribbled math and circled items sort of like a diner receipt . I was over charged by $7 , which was hard to verify because we ordered a lot and the yellow paper was full on unintelligible chicken scratch(no pun intended ) . I was very specific that I wanted a grilled chicken sandwich , even double checked and reminded them "grilled " and still they delivered me a fried chicken sandwich . They did eventually send me a new sandwich but by then I was starving , however it was not appetizing , it was on the tough side , possibly rushed , and who doesnt have that anxiety that the food has been spit in if you dare call and make a complaint ?? In fact when I called and told them about the mixup they disagreed with me at first .. I digress . . I asked the woman on the phone for a kids meal, do children tend to prefer nuggets or chicken fingers? . I feel like she just said " nuggets "and didn't actually know but what she said next was " we don't have the normal nuggets appetizer left , currently all we have left is the larger nuggets dinner " What does that even mean ?!?! How cAn you be "out of" a smaller portion of something ? But it's true . They were "all out of" the small order and I absolutely had to buy it as the more expensive dinner with fries . My wife got a rib and chicken combo with a few different apps all of which were foul (no pun intended ) quality . The white rolls that came with the meals, were each stale and the cheese cake I ordered turned out to be a spoon included vending machine cheese cake in an action figure box that nobody knows how it will taste until you scissor open the plastic and take it out . It tastes exactly how you might imagine vending machine cheese cake to taste . Wish they would have mentioned that it was weird plastic sealed shipped cheese cake . Lastly , I wouldn't have tipped $10 had I realiZed I was charged a $2 delivery fee , on a bill that was added up wrong and missing items I had actually ordered and included mostly gross food . Ironically the best tasting parts of the meal were the fries I was forced to purchase in my daughters dinner combo and the fried chicken sandwich that I didn't actually order . that they politely did not ask me to give back . Unfortunately fried chicken tends to upset my stomach unless it's vEry high quality , cooked right and cooked in clean oil . Chicken Town is just fine if you only order what constitutes the first part of their name. The fried chicken is delicious; nicely seasoned, crisp but not overly breaded, and hot. The side dishes are anemic at best: mashed potatos and gravy that would disgrace a hospital or school cafeteria, rolls that you could buy in the bread aisle of the grocery store, etc. The ribs are extremely fatty, rendering them nearly inedible. I've had some of their fried seafood, which is okay, but nothing special. It all tastes pre-battered and frozen. Also, my experience has been that when business gets slow at night, the mice will close early if the cat is not around. I have ordered an hour before closing on a few occasions, only to be greeted by a sighing, huffing lone kid behind the counter, lights off, telling me about how he would have left early had it not been for me. Poor baby. Also, on a couple of occasions when I've ordered larger quantity tubs of chicken, I have caught them substituting wings or drums for thighs or breasts to raise the piece count. After complaining loudly, they no longer do this to me, but count your chickens and keep them honest. If you're amenable to cooking all your side dishes at home, and augmenting them with a tub of take-out chicken, Chicken Town is the man for the job. If, on the other hand, you are in search of a complete meal, I would recommend ordering Chinese. read more

As we entered, a fellow held the door for us and I asked him: "How is the food here?" His response was brief, but as it turned out, very accurate: "Always fresh." After a few minutes of looking at the menu we decided on the chicken dinner for two. It included: two breasts, two thighs, two legs and two wings, plus two sides. For the sides we chose mashed potatoes with brown gravy and cole slaw. We also purchased a side order of broccoli. Everything was cooked to perfection and the chicken was tender and juicy. Their prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity. The place was clean and well kept and that scores points with both of us. We ate in, but there were lots of take outs being called in and picked up. They also deliver.
