We then ordered food and 45 minutes later it came out... the food was great, the table ordered two pizzas which were quickly devoured. Dropped in for lunch here during a bike ride and it was the perfect pit stop. Close to the carousel and several shops and waterfront. We came because my husband called ahead and asked if they indeed do a gluten free lobster roll and they do! And it's actually fabulous. The bun wasn't gross or crumbly. I had the cold version which is more mayo based, and my husband enjoyed the regular hot sub buttery version. We both loved it. Kid-friendly place as well with a nice street cafe setting. Yummmm! One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. They have a bar area and a quieter area of you have kids or want to have a convo without yelling. Today I visited offshore, as I typically do when I'm on island. I had the rudest server I've encountered in a while. When I sat down he abruptly came to the table and immediately say's do you know what you want. Not as much as a hello, or anything. I ordered a drink. When he returned I asked if they had any specials that day, since he hadn't bothered to mention them. He then picks up a smaller menu from the table beside him and says here ya go and walks away. I looked at him both shocked and surprised that he couldn't be bothered with me. Me, the customer the patron. I asked for the manager who was friendly and quickly changed my server. I could easily see that his interaction with all other patrons was far friendlier than his interaction with me. As I was the only person of color at the establishment. Again I have never had an experience like this before at this otherwise great restaurant. The servers name was Everett I would recommend seeking a different server. read more

I was on the island for the first time in my life a few weekends ago, and found myself here all 3 days. I had the clam chowder twice because once is never enough, I highly recommend! I also had the fish and chips twice because they were just that good. Super crispy not greasy and the fish was so fresh and most importantly, the tartar sauce was on point (no sweet pickles thankfully!). One night I had the fried chicken, and it was so unique, I clearly didn't pay attention to the description on the menu and that is OK. I loved it! Two chicken breasts that were fried rather than some other chicken part with the bone still involved. One night I tried the carrot cake and it was delicious. And I am extremely picky about my carrot cake. When I come back to the island in April, I will be returning for certain. read more

Went here, 6 of us on a Wednesday sep 3 to have a couple of drinks. We asked if we could sit at an outdoor table, there were 3 open tables outside. We were told "no" they had to keep them open for people who want to eat. It's 7 pm on a Wednesday and the street was fairly dead. The girl tells us we can sit at different areas, 3 at the bar and 3 somewhere else. We left and went to another place on circuit Ave to drink. What a dumb decision on their part. Great place on the island for good local beers! They have a variety of local beers on draft as well as wines, bloodys, and other cocktails, but get a local beer or even the sake Bloody, whaaaaa! The mussels are greeaaaaaat. Comes with some crostini for the broth, so good! The pesto Brie with bread is another great dish here for sharing, as well as wood fires pizzas. This is a place to come with friends or family, order a bunch of plates and share everything while sipping on some brews. It doesn't get better than that, does it?! read more

I once had the most amazing Pizza here, it was a special for that week. Pulled Pork & Mac 'n' Cheese Pizza!!!! I was very sad when the special was over, they need to make it a regular item! Although, I'm now gluten intolerant so maybe it's a good thing there isn't that temptation because I'd probably risk my life to eat that again! I'll never forget you PPMC Pizza, no Pizza has or will compare to you, you're forever the Pizza that got away. Anywaaaaay, the other pizzas are fine, they just don't compare. I stopped by here this past Saturday night with my wife for an early dinner. We arrived to Offshore Ales at just after 5 PM and checked in with the hostess. Since I could see a bunch of empty tables, I didn't think we would have a problem getting a table. However that wasn't the case and there was only a single small high top table left that wasn't being saved for reservations which the hostess told us would be ready in 10-15 minutes. Since it was empty, I started towards it as I had misheard that it would be the only table ready for 10-15 minutes. My wife pulled me back but the hostess eventually decided that we didn't have to wait and seated us anyways. In any case the inside of this place is somewhat smaller than I expected with a small bar along the back and some merchandise for sale at the front. Other than that the whole main floor is seating whether it be at high top tables or booths. Hanging down above the tables are different types of boats and I saw at least a canoe, kayak and others. Finally up on the second floor you can see some of their brewing equipment. For a snack on this day my wife and I decided to split the duck pizza. Since I love duck and also love pizza, this was a no brainer for me. For whatever reason you don't see it too often but in this case it consisted of a pizza with duck confit, leeks, pancetta and Parmesan cheese. The pizza here ended up being quite good as the duck on it was tender and tasty while the pancetta added some saltiness along with the cheese and the leeks added a touch of sweetness. There wasn't a noticeable sauce on the pizza although I did get some bites with a garlic flavor to them and so maybe it was garlic with olive oil? Then the crust was also really good as it was crispy throughout. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I went with a flight here. At Offshore Ale that consists of 4 beers and for those I choose the Mercyside Red, Steeprock Stock Stout, Miss Behavin' (Strong Ale) and the Lazy Frog IPA. The first beer that I tried was the Merseyside red which started off with a little bit of a bite before finishing with a nice and caramely finish. Second was the Steeprock stock stout which started off with the dark malty flavor before finishing with a hit of smokiness. The third beer that I tried was the Miss behavin' which was smooth at the start and finished with a nice little sweetness which makes you think it couldn't be the 7.5% ABV it says on the menu. Finally I finished with the Lazy Frog IPA which starts off hoppy right at the start and then mellows a bit as it continues to the finish. The middle and finish is a nice hop though and while bitter has a palate that is extremely pleasing. Out of the bunch I would have to say that the Lazy Frog IPA was my favorite with the Steeprock stock stout being my second favorite. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both the food and beer that we tried here was good and I would be interesting in trying more of both. read more

We've been here several times. As a brewery, their beer is tops. The food is less impressive. Fried calamari with remoulade - thumbs up. Always fried to perfection. Quesadillas - thumbs up, perfect balance of meat, cheese, and et cetera. Pretzel, meh. I don't like mustard so I wish they offered another dip option such as queso (please, not the cheap yellow ballpark cheese dip, but real white cheese Mexican style queso). Where Offshore really shines is certain selections of its beer. Hop Goddess is deliciously hoppy. Argus was robust and well rounded. We ended up at Offshore after a brief visit to another spot on Kennebec with a "full bar" had no rum. We were seated outside without a reservation and waited on by an energetic young girl we'll call "H." I started with a Lazy Frog IPA and Lisa had a cosmo (2 stars). The IPA was hoppy and a bit bitter just how I like them. We ordered a bottle of wine but our meal came so quickly (brought by a nameless waiter), "H" hadn't even brought our wine for tasting. I had the pub salad which was pretty good, a nice vinaigrette over some endive and other greens with pears, candied walnuts and bleu cheese (a personal weakness of mine) with chicken for protein add and avocado for my keto religion. This review would've been better if the service was better. H loved to talk, had all the outdoor tables (4-5) and spent to much time talking about her second job and selling those wares to other folks. My go to pizza place on the Vineyard! They are a brewery and have a great pub atmosphere. (Peanut allergy alert! They have peanuts and shells on the floor.) The beers are usually very good according to my friends who know beer and my limited samplings. The pizza is legitimately made in a wood fired brick oven! I ordered a chicken pesto pizza this past visit and it was delicious! Other favorites of mine include the roasted duck, white clam, and Italian sausage alfredo. BLUF: A nice tiny restaurant offshore on Martha's vineyard that will cure any ails that you have from walking around! We were just walking around at Martha's Vineyard looking for a place to eat and we stumbled upon this place! It was the perfect restaurant for a nice beer on a summer day with some local eats and seafood. Also a plus - the place is dog friendly which was perfect. I loved the decor with New England wood, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We were seated quickly upon talking with the host and sat outside with my friend's dogs. The waitress was quick to get our order of drinks and water as it was a little toasty outside, which we appreciated. Being offshore and in Massachusetts, I had to order their lobster roll. I had no regrets because it was so rich and full of lobster! They definitely did not hold back on the lobster and the bun was buttery and flavorful. They have a good selection of brews and other food that is very affordable. If you're in the area, I recommend coming here for a stop or a brew in the garden. My husband had a fish sandwich and said it was good. I shared his truffle fries because they were too perfect not to steal. I had the BBQ Chicken wood fired brick oven pizza and it was fantastic.
