Walked in on a Monday night and it was still decently crowded. Ordered the Steamed Pei Mussels as an appetizer and the Fish and Chips and Portuguese Fisherman's Stew as entrees. Both of the mussels were alright and although the mussels were in different broths they tasted similar so I would recommend just getting the appetizer mussels and trying a different entree. The Fish and chips were really good though! They were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The breading enhanced the flavor of the fish and did not overpower the flavor of the actual fish. We enjoyed a chicken pesto pizza outside on a beautiful October evening. It was more than enough for the two of us. They had pumpkin ale with a cinnamon sugar rim for the season. We finished with a lemon raspberry cheesecake that actually included a layer of cake. Very good meal and excellent service. Very underdressed. So she ordered some cream. They brought Bailey's in stead. Not sure what happened there. But $8 for that shot, and $16 for the drink = $23 for the drink. This spot is located nearby the Oaks Bluffs ferry terminal. We were greeted as soon as we got inside with a welcoming smile. It looked like a huge cabin by the water, with lots of wooden boats hanging from the ceiling. Warm and cozy atmosphere, great spot to relax. We got complimentary peanuts, and you can toss the peanut shells on the floor! We were not very hungry, as we have been eating our way through Martha's Vineyard... We were just looking to get some beer and a snack. We got Parmesan Truffle Fries for snack, which was GREAT! We couldn't stop eating them! For drink, we got flight of beer. It is not on the menu, but if you ask, they will provide them! The flight comes with four beers of your choice. We went with East Chop, Blueberry, Argus, and Stout. Each beer was really tasty, some unique, some fruity, but all great! We had a really nice, relaxing time here with delicious snack and drinks. Exactly what we wanted before getting onto the ferry. Wow, great spot for some nice pub fare. Fiancé said this is the best burger on the island. It was big, juicy, and delicious. The seafood pasta also tasted very fresh, both the seafood and the sauce which seemed homemade. The beers are brewed onsite and we loved the selection. The restaurant does get very busy, and if you want pizza during a rush it's a 45-minute wait. Regardless, the staff was great and we loved the atmosphere. Would recommend! read more

Every year, this is our first stop right off the ferry and it is usually one of our favorite stops. Lots of truffle flavor. - clam chowder - was okay, good consistency, nothing crazy - grilled Brie - this was unique! The Brie flavor was not very potent but it paired well with the warm baguette, pesto, and roasted garlic - calamari - was decent and not too much bread but nothing super special. - 4 oysters - they were very fresh!! Offshore Ale Company is a craft brewpub that opened in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts in 1997. It was founded by Robert Skydell under the original name 'City Ale & Oyster'. One year later, the name was changed to "Offshore Ale" after their most popular beer at the time. Despite the name change, there is still a sign on the exterior of the building that lists the brewpub's original name. Out of the three breweries on Martha's Vineyard, Offshore is the oldest. Unlike several businesses on the island, Offshore is open year-round. There are usually nine different craft beers on tap at any given time, and the food menu consists of a variety of dishes such as appetizers, salads, brick oven pizza, sandwiches, quesadillas and BBQ ribs. In 2006, the brewpub was sold to husband and wife Phillip and Colleen McAndrews. Phillip had previously sold beer, wine and spirits, and had dreamed of running an Irish pub or something similar. After hearing that the brewpub was for sale, he jumped at the chance to purchase it. Since 2008, the brewmaster has been Neil Atkins: a U.K. ex-patriot. I recently visited Offshore while I was on a week-long vacation in Cape Cod. My family and I took the ferry to Martha's Vineyard for a day trip. While my wife and son were playing at a nearby playground, I stopped at the brewpub to sample a beer flight. The place seemed like a well-loved local watering hole. There were plenty of 'Islanders' laughing it up and kicking back some drinks. My flight consisted of a pale ale, an IPA, a session IPA, and a Double IPA. I loved every beer I tried, but my favorite was the last one: "Islander Double IPA". I ordered a four-pack of cans to go, and I also ordered some food for my family and I to eat on the ferry back to the mainland. We split some Fried Calamari (made with Amber Ale beer batter), Parmesan Truffle Fries, and Chicken Tenders. The food made for a delicious dinner on the ferry ride. I would definitely make a return trip to Offshore Ale Company, and next time I'd like to try their pizza! read more

We stopped by here on our trip to Martha's Vineyard for lunch. While the service was great and the food was delicious, I was surprised to find out that the side salad substitution I received with my lobster roll was more like a "side of raw vegetables" and was charged extra for salad dressing. We also ordered some fish and chips and had to pay extra for the tartar sauce too which should also come with the meal, especially for a somewhat pricier meal already. I'd recommend stopping by this place for the food/service, but you might consider grabbing a bottle of Ken's Italian Dressing at the nearby convenience store if you don't want to pay extra for something that should be already be a default. read more

This place seems to be a favorite for both the locals and the tourists, offering items such as various starters (oysters on a half shell, fried calamari, housemade clam chowder, etc.), salad, sandwiches, wood-fired brick oven artisan pizzas, etc. We came here for an early lunch, and we ordered: the Offshore Lobster Roll (lobster meat, sauteed with hot butter, filled in a lightly grilled roll (this was at an extra charge, as it usually comes lightly tossed in mayo); this was good, but I felt that the lobster was a bit overcooked, as it was tough and chewy); the Fish & Chips (flaky large chunks of cod, battered in the Offshore Amber Ale beer batter, served over hand-cut fries; these were quite delicious, and I recommend in mixing the sriracha sauce with the tarter sauce! (they didn't have any hot sauces)); and, the Fish Sandwich (sole fillets, battered in the Offshore Amber Ale beer batter, served with a side of tarter sauce; this fish sandwich was probably one of the best fish sandwiches I've had! It was crispy, flaky, and delicious, and adding that sriracha/tarter sauce mix just put it over the top!). Service was super friendly and welcoming! Note that this is a super peanut-friendly restaurant, as there are little paper trays of peanuts for your to munch on while you wait for your food; also, the shells of peanuts are just 'tossed' onto the ground, so you will be stepping through these shells when you're walking around! Visited in September and they were busy. We had about a 30 minute wait but we enjoyed sitting outside to wait. The hostess was charming and friendly when we put our name on the list and when she seated us. It seemed as though there were many locals visiting which I think speaks well of the restaurant. Neither of us tried the beer but the selection looked great. I don't drink it and my boyfriend needs gluten free beer. The menu had a good variety. We shared an excellent gf pizza. It was a dark and stormy day on the Vineyard. 4 adults, 2 kids under the ago of 7 and most places were closed for the season... what to do? Haul it into Offshore of course! We were there for snacks and the adult males wanted to try some new brews. Pretty cool atmosphere (as long as you don't have a peanut allergy!) Boats hanging above head and a brick oven blazing. The kids split an order of pretzels... they came 2 in an order and all I can say is... I love salt! This pretzel is covered in salt! (Me likey!) The table shared an order of truffle fries... DELICIOUS! Seriously... even my 7 year old who was anti cheese on her fries ended up really enjoying them! Plus lots of crunchy little pieces- the best! Our waited was friendly, gave the guys suggestions about the beers and my boyfriend said the beer was surprisingly good. I tried their chowder but beware...
