I generally shop at the orange parts store, but have dropped by NAPA about 4 times since moving to the surrounding neighborhood. The staff lacks customer service skills. They seem to have something bothering them every time i've dropped in for a part - Maybe they dont like their job? Their POS seems to have issues often, its completely outdated from the 80s. Employees seem to get frustrated about it as much as customers trying to pay (it takes a while for them to enter information before taking paymen).. The shelves are stocked but not fully - call ahead to see if the part is available. Phone hold time is generally 5-10 minutes. Its the largest NAPA ive been to so I assume by the size of their warehouse in the back, the lack of product inventory, and less than satisfactory customer service, that they are very profitable and make their money on b2b sales. I'll continue to drop by, but only if im in a bind. Lack of inventory, phone wait time and outdated POS wouldn't be an issue if they balanced it off with excellent customer service.

I've worked in customer service for a local garage door company and we would always try to help someone out if there was an emergency. I totally get saying no right before closing, I respect that. But the tone of her voice and her attitude was the absolute worst. We were ended up calling the San Marcos Pep Boys location and the guy was super helpful and recommended Autozone for our car. Told to plan for 1 full day but we lucked out (only took about 3 1/2 hrs). What a huge difference these have made.
