It's understandable why people prefer online shopping. My visit to OfficeMax was disappointing due to an apparent internal dispute, resulting in unavailability of assistance. I don't recommend this store; unsure about other branches. Perhaps there wasn't a dispute, but the overall atmosphere was unpleasant with everyone appearing grumpy during my visit to OfficeMax. This, coupled with the lack of assistance, makes me hesitant to recommend the store. Uncertain about other branches. read more

I needed a paperwork filing system and a label maker. Well, I guess I that's what I told myself before I went into the store! I wander around looking and touching all the shiny things all over the store. So many pretty things, cool gadgets, new technologies!!!! I feel like a kid in a candy store, except more expensive candies!!! I mean who doesn't NEED every color of marker ever invented! And You never know when you need a thin felt tip or a wide felt tip!!! And all glue is not created equal! Glue sticks, glue guns, gorilla glue, super glue, purple turns clear glue!!! Organizers for your organizers!!! Think about all the time you can save if your life was color coded, labeled, filed, and everything had a place!!! I can go in this store for 2 things and leave with a cart full and forget to have even looked for what I went in there for!!!! Why? Because they have a GIANT yellow Clearance sign !!!! read more

I always went in the past to the Office Max at El Dorado and 75 in McKinney which was closing so they sent me here. This was 6 (plus?) months ago. I wasn't happy about the way things went but I didn't write a review. Basically they had the phone for over 3 hours to change the screen after they said it would take only one. I was irritated but kept it to myself. The battery on same phone started acting really strange, decided to take it local to see what was up. They opened it up and were shocked with what they found. They original battery had been removed and a lesser quality battery was placed in the phone but not screwed in. It was superglued in place and the heat plate was no longer in the phone. This other place had never seen this kind of repair and didn't know how or if it could be fixed but sent it to their headquarters to take a look at it. Long story here but it was fixed and took weeks to have it repaired. I know OfficeMax will say they didn't do it but I know that the phone went in to them complete, only a couple months old, that they were to change the screen and every time I called with "is it done yet?" I received some excuse about why it was going to take longer. I also know the phone has not been worked on since. I can assure you I haven't a clue how to take it apart much less the procedure to remove a battery and glue in another in its place, but somehow, someone, did this to the phone which is now 9 months old and has been to the repair shop twice, OfficeMax being the only place having access to the phone during this timeline. Here's hoping you never need to have a cell phone worked on but if you do, think twice about taking it here, or go see John at Staples (121/Custer) and have him take a look at it. read more

Quiet in there on a Thursday afternoon but had plenty of friendly assistance. Returned a defective item and they found a replacement without my asking. I was greeted at least 3 times while there. I know they're bored all things considered but at least not introverted. read more

Arrived at the location @ 2:26pm on a Wednesday to utilize the FedEx shipping station. It is now 3:07pm, and I'm still standing here waiting for someone to simply print the labels for me so that I can pay and leave the packages. I've attempted to get assistance numerous times, yet other customers continue to whiz by me as I stand here, 40+ minutes later- waiting for a simple print out. No empathy for the slow service or bad customer service. If you need anything done quickly, go elsewhere. read more

Not sure how to write this review. I'm made a custom address stamp from their kiosk in the Print Center. The display stated I needed to print out the receipt and take it to the register for payment. Yet, the kiosk is not hooked to a printer. And it is taking 6 employees to try various login and print the receipt. Been going on for over 17 minutes. Epic fail. read more

DO NOT bother coming here on the weekend to get any kind of project printed. The people working the printing might be the laziest people I have ever met. They either don't know how to do things or don't want to do things. So frustrating. There is one girl who works over there during the week who is great but all the rest of them should be fired for incompetence or unwillingness to help customers. read more

I hate the print/copy area of this store! I have had the worst service ever on a consistent basis. On several occasions they have taken my order and said it would be ready and when I show up to get it, they act like they've never even laid eyes on me. They are not efficient in getting the job done in a timely manner. Once while standing there waiting for my order (because they did not finish it at the time they had already promised) The guy working on my order kept complaining to the lady behind the counter how he was starving and needed to take a break and eat and go use the restroom while he was working on my order. I go to this store for copies, so I'm reviewing the copy center. In the past 5 times I've been here, I've had a greater than 10 minute wait to be helped and have had associates who didn't know what they were doing. It's easy to spend a half hour altogether here, first waiting for someone to get to you and then waiting for them to figure out how to do something. Sometimes they can't figure it out, so you just wasted your time for nothing. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

I spent about $30 at this location as part of my starting up a home-based business. I stopped by the copy center and requested that the manager hold back approximately a dozen empty copy paper boxes as part of a volunteer effort for an estate sale. She says they are not allowed to keep ANY boxes because in her exact words, they are a "hazard". I volunteered to be back the next day to pick them up on the spot, but that wasn't acceptable. I guess I will be visiting the competition down the road in the future to spend my money there, as they are always more than willing to hold boxes back, no matter what the occasion..... read more

My husband and I own several small businesses and we went to the OfficeMax Print shop to design a custom logo. We could not have been more happier and impressed. The graphic designer listened to our needs and our new logo is very professional yet cool and different. We also purchased letterhead, business cards, envelopes, car and yard signs with the new logo. I've been coming to this location for weekly and monthly print services for work since 2011.  During that time I've worked with some pretty amazing people that made getting orders processed easy and convenient.  However, over the last few years I've noticed increasing turnover and with that a serious decline in customer service.  The errors in orders and false promises for pick up times have caused me to use Staples online ordering for a more reliable and consistent experience.  This week I was in a bind to complete a small project. I dropped off my order on Tuesday morning and was given the guarantee it would be completed by 10:00am on Wednesday. My first red flag was when the lady helping had no clue how to make my legal size copies on legal paper. The whole ordeal to just get the correct copies took more than 5 minutes.  I left with my fingers crossed that my order would be correct at pick up. I stopped in to pick up my order around noon on Wednesday (two hours after guaranteed time).  After waiting several minutes I was informed by the same lady that "I guess no one did it after I left." She then assured me that she would make sure the person after her completed it.  I'm sure the look on my face said everything so she said she could probably start it before she left.  I told her I'd be back at opening the next day (Thursday). You can probably guess what happened next...I walked in at 9:00am Thursday morning to an incomplete order and the same lady again responded "I can't believe they didn't do it last night." I proceeded to walk around the store for the next fifteen minutes until my order was complete. I won't be back. read more

I called the store ahead of time and asked for a specific item I gave them the brand name, full title of the product, and the item number. The associate who answered the phone assured me that they had them in stock and that he would personally bring it up to the front, and I could pick it up from there. I drive 30 mins out of my way get to the store, not only are they not up front but the store doesn't even sell the item I requested. It's clear that the employees aren't very knowledgeable and for that I plan the manager/owner of the store who should be making it a priority that their employees actually know the ins and outs of their job. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. I literally just walked out of there because the lady working at the copy center was so difficult. Instead of simply confirming to me that she could have my order done by 5 pm she just kept telling me to write my name and number on the order form. Why was it so hard to just say yes, your order can be done by 5? This is the first negative experience I have had there but she certainly left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

This place is terrible. I have a big client meeting this week - and put in for my materials to be produced. Time is off the essence. I received an email confirmation and tried multiple times to call and confirm it would be ready. Nobody answered. When I arrived onsite, the manager, who seemed completely uninterested in his staff's lack of competency, said it probably was because there was only one employee who bothered to come to work and she didn't get around to it. Fantastic. Thank God FedEx office rushed my order and it looks beautiful. Don't bother with this place - keep driving to FedEx! read more

i hate to give this store a one star because the employees that work there except the guy who answers the phone. my wife was lost and i called for directions. the guy introduced himself as chris. he told me once the intersections. i reiterated the directions back and asked what the cross street from the dallas parkway. he barked back "MAN I DONE TOD YOU ONCE ITS AT WEST PLANO PKWY AND WEST PARK!" so sad. i had a good experience from a Spencer but was told he no longer was worked there. they offered to repair my computer for half or what others wanted. i have it back now and am enjoying the virus free ago. the tech even delivered the laptop to my home because of some mix up in the conversation. go there for the goof service just stay away from chris. he has these dreads and always answers the phone and hangs out in the front of the store. read more

The service at this store is unbelievable! My son had a project and needed help with some copies. The gentleman at the Copy Center went above and beyond to help him determine what supplies he needed and where to find them...header for storyboard, colors for matting, picture cutting, paper quality to use, JPEG edits,...even the types of glue to use. He was amazing and so patient with him over the course of two separate visits on two separate days! This has always been my favorite Office Max, but now I am even more loyal! read more
