Honestly, reading through the reviews here is surprising because they're overwhelmingly negative. Office Depot feels like one of those almost necessary companies that people rely on more than they realize, especially for printing, office supplies, and last-minute needs. Came here today 5/13/26 to get some copies, printer charged my fiance and I but only printed 1 page and not any of the prints we actually needed. My fiance then proceeded to ask a worker for help and asked the basic questions on whether we sent the documents correctly, we did. Then they just said, "yeah we can't help you there". Do they not get basic printer fixing training? Are they paid to just be running the registers? Mind you, there was no customers in line, there were 2-3 around the register just chatting away and get told to just send it thru online. It's no wonder Office Depot is losing business. The unprofessionalism in this place is disturbing. Like the other reviews on here regarding the individuals who work in printing department, they are 100% accurate and STILL doing the same thing. Instead of being helpful and doing what your getting paid for which is not that hard I might add, the Hispanic girl with dark brown hair and blonde streaks in her hair who looks like she hasn't slept in 5 weeks was so rude to the lady who had been there before me, myself and to the lady who got there after me. Instead of acknowledging me respectfully, the employee named Gus (wearing all red, possibly a supervisor) responded with a tone and expression that made me feel talked down to, as if I was an inconvenience for simply asking a question. His reaction was unnecessary, unprofessional, and honestly very discouraging. The only positive note: there was one young woman working who was genuinely kind and helpful -- a rare exception compared to the usual atmosphere here. Customer service doesn't require much: A simple "Hi, welcome in," or "I'll be right with you," goes a long way in making people feel valued. This location would benefit greatly from retraining staff on basic customer service skills, communication, and respect. This location might as well get rid of their printing department because they DO NOT want to help they want you to use self service which would be ideal for some stuff but if someone wait in line and wait for you to come back from your break clearly self service is not an option. Which would be great, but when I arrived only one OFE the four worked and then you are stuck behind ppl trying to figure out how to use email and enter codes in order to print the copies. She'll just forget to give me the whole print job I've paid for. Has happened multiple times and reported the worker and the management just excused it as a my fault type thing. Which made it all worse. Don't go there if you want them to print it for you. They'll likely mess up. And on top of that they always have a long line. Went there just to buy a box to ship something I sold online and the line was long!!! They had one lady working the register and another helping out with copies and stuff so I decided to go a couple of doors down to get a boba drink and then come back so the line could shorten. When I came back same people were still in line!!! Did no one call for help at the register while I was gone??? Well I needed the box quite bad because item had to be shipped out that day for a nice pay day, besides I had nothing else to do so I waited... people in front of me were making flyers, some had a usb and wanted to get pics printed so it took forever for them to find the pics they actually wanted to print, others needed packets of copies!!! So it took a while I should've tracked the time but I didn't... I just know I went through my feed while I was in line, replied to emails, text in my group convo with my girls, and nearly finished my boba all while waiting! Like I said thankfully I had no where else to go but poor people who did, a guy in front of me was all suited, I'm sure he had business to attend. A lady in line with her kids had her kids all over the place poor babies must've been tired and bored of waiting around!!! I went to purchase a monitor and asked an associate which monitor was compatible with a Mac and he replied that they were all compatible with Mac. I purchased an HP and tried connecting it at home but it didn't work. I purchased multiple adapters and cords but it still wasn't working. I even YouTube'd and googled all possibilities but nothing worked. I spoke to a live agent through the text messaging system who told me to call the manufacturer because they weren't able to answer my question about compatibility. I spoke to the manufacturer who finally told me that Mac isn't compatible with the monitor I purchased... So it was an annoying long unnecessary process all because an associate told me something that was incorrect. I understand people don't know or make mistakes but maybe that associate should have double checked with someone or suggest the website for more accurate information. do your own research instead of relying on a store associate to give Information on their product. Especially when I don't know anything about technology or compatibility... Thankfully it was an easy return process too. I believe they have a 14 day return policy only so keep that in mind. The cashier who helped me return that item was helpful and empathetic, she offered to assist me in searching for a new one but I decided to buy elsewhere to avoid the same issue. read more

Came in two days in a row because I needed the printing services. It seems the printing center is the most busy compared to the rest of the store. The employee that helped me the first day seemed over working retail. The next day I used the self-serve copy machines and to use those you need to pay with card. The machine says they charge you $5 then give it back. So at the end they only charge you the amount of copies you take. I thought the initial $5 charge was weird. Overall, good experience. If you don't want to deal with any employees, the self-serve machines are the way to go. read more

Just walked in my office at 7am and STEPPED ON THE PHONE CABLE! COMPLETELY TORE IT OUT THE WALL!! SOMEONE HELP ME!! haha... Luckily this Office depot is about 5 miles away from my work! They do not have a onsite computer in their print station to look or pull up the items so you can self print. I asked a gentleman with the title regional manager on his name tag if they could just look up the document and print it, they wouldn't have to download anything -- he said no and suggested I go to a library. Otherwise, I could try pulling up a PDF on my phone and email it to them, which I tried but the formatting of course was off and the lady at the front just said sorry this won't come out. Long story short, I drove to the Staples on Chatsworth who had a computer station with an attached printer. On top of that the desk clerk handed me a highlighter and helped me staple some papers together quickly. read more

wow just wow and not in a good way . i went in to print out pictures for a birthday card i am making normally i go to the northridge store but this one is literally 2 miles from me and it was 8pm so i said why not. so i go to the cpd area and asked marina (the rude older lady in copy and print) for the email. turns out that they no longer offer that service at this store (send pictures to the email to be printed) i said thats ridiculous thats what office depot is known for . she was not trying to help me at all no effort no nothing. she said that i have to place the order online and then theyll be able to do the prints. so 1. i know thats not true cause i go to the other store all the time and they never have that problem 2. i cant use my spc card online 3. they cant print multiple pictures on 1 page . trust me ive tried . so anyways i informed her of all that and she just said ima need to buy a usb and transfer them over since they cannot download the pictures .. bullsh*t so i asked to speak to the cpd supervisor.. she gave me the same speech . i then called the od in northridge and asked if thats a nee thing od is doing. sure enough the asm from northridge went out of his way to call the sylmar store and aske them what is going on which they left him on hold for a long time . all of a sudden the pictures were downloading.. what a miracle. i got my prints . and then when they were ringing me out i said i have my spc card .. and again marina said we cannot accept it unless its "your hands" i said its a direct link from my employer.. its not a screen shot . she said its company policy little did she know i worked at od and that was a load of crap . i said no its not and she then said well its andys policy (andy is the sm) i said thats not a company policy amd its not a screen shot so why are you being rude and difficult. she called over the cpd supervisor and she saw that it was infact a link and not a screen shot she was able to honor it .. she was ok but marina the worst . i get it shes been with the company for ever but man she needs to get with the program .. andy you need to have yet another talk with that lady ! worst service by far!! read more

Was there to print some important documents and got there 15min before closing because I had barely made it after work. Was having difficulty printing on their self printing service due to the machine lagging and constant error messages. Instead of a manger or employee approaching me to ask if I needed help (to move the process faster) they temporarily turned off the power which powered down the printers then said "sorry they turn off after a while after closing". If you wanted me out you should've stepped up and asked to help instead of forcing me out of the store. Terrible customer service, terrible leadership skills, terrible overall experience. read more
