I had an online print order come through incorrectly, but Alondra was able to fix the issue incredibly fast. The artwork had been cut off due to what seemed like an issue with the online ordering system, and she handled it quickly and professionally. Honestly, reading through the reviews here is surprising because they're overwhelmingly negative. Office Depot feels like one of those almost necessary companies that people rely on more than they realize, especially for printing, office supplies, and last-minute needs. It deserves a little more credit, and employees like Alondra are a big reason why. Great customer service when it mattered. read more

You'd think coming here to print out copies would be easy right? WRONG! Came here today 5/13/26 to get some copies, printer charged my fiance and I but only printed 1 page and not any of the prints we actually needed. My fiance then proceeded to ask a worker for help and asked the basic questions on whether we sent the documents correctly, we did. Then they just said, "yeah we can't help you there". Do they not get basic printer fixing training? Are they paid to just be running the registers? Mind you, there was no customers in line, there were 2-3 around the register just chatting away and get told to just send it thru online. It's no wonder Office Depot is losing business. We were better off making the drive to Staples instead. read more

Every time I come to this place it opens 20 mins late and closes 30 minutes early. Says closed at 8PM but 7:30 doors are locked. They throw away orders and are unreliable with bad customer service. read more

Title: Consistently Disappointing Customer Service -- Today Was the Final Straw Review: I've been to this location many times over the years, and unfortunately the customer service has consistently been disappointing. Most of the time, employees avoid eye contact, don't greet customers, and give off the feeling that they'd rather not interact at all. Today's experience confirmed that nothing has changed. I walked in, noticed they were helping someone, and politely said, "When you get a chance..." Instead of acknowledging me respectfully, the employee named Gus (wearing all red, possibly a supervisor) responded with a tone and expression that made me feel talked down to, as if I was an inconvenience for simply asking a question. His reaction was unnecessary, unprofessional, and honestly very discouraging. The only positive note: there was one young woman working who was genuinely kind and helpful -- a rare exception compared to the usual atmosphere here. Customer service doesn't require much: A simple "Hi, welcome in," or "I'll be right with you," goes a long way in making people feel valued. This location would benefit greatly from retraining staff on basic customer service skills, communication, and respect. I hope management takes this seriously, because the experience today was unacceptable. read more

The unprofessionalism in this place is disturbing. Like the other reviews on here regarding the individuals who work in printing department, they are 100% accurate and STILL doing the same thing. Instead of being helpful and doing what your getting paid for which is not that hard I might add, the Hispanic girl with dark brown hair and blonde streaks in her hair who looks like she hasn't slept in 5 weeks was so rude to the lady who had been there before me, myself and to the lady who got there after me. Me Watever but the other 2 woman were elderly and she had absolutely no respect or patience and she's talking back to them being so childish and petty. It's not like they were being rude they said excuse me asking for help idk how many times. I EVEN WANTED TO HELP THEM but I was having a hard time printing too. You being passive aggressive and giving nonchalant responses is a form of disrespect, they might have not caught it but I did because you're saying it out loud for everyone to hear!! That just shows you what kind of character you have as a person. I asked her for her name, she says it fast and under her breath so I can't understand her lol don't be shy now girly you wanted to be brave then what happened ? If you're unsatisfied with your life change it but then again I would be miserable too if I made a career there but hey what do I know. read more

This location might as well get rid of their printing department because they DO NOT want to help they want you to use self service which would be ideal for some stuff but if someone wait in line and wait for you to come back from your break clearly self service is not an option. Then without even asking how many prints or what I needed she automatically told me next day by 5pm. Unprofessional, rude, and uninterested. Also there was only one person working printing so while she was on break there was no one there willing to help. I only needed 16 copies but needed some sizing done. read more

It's a matter of time till this business files for chapter 7 or 11 like Bed Bath and Beyond due to any lack of customer service Came in and the place is completely dead as usual to find somebody who works. There was also a huge headache and inquired about Mat versus premium glossy paper for a business and there's nobody who knew anything about it. It's these little details that causes a business to eventually go out of business read more

Printing service changed. Way better than when I went a few years ago. Only down side is that sometimes the person wiki g in the printing department isn't so helpful but depends who you get. read more

This place is a joke. People who work here aren't helpful and if you want to make copies they send you to four machines to do it yourself. Which would be great, but when I arrived only one OFE the four worked and then you are stuck behind ppl trying to figure out how to use email and enter codes in order to print the copies. Stay away from here unless you want to spend an hour printing 4 pages. Would be 0 stars but I had to give at least 1. read more

I was able to get a refund for earbuds that don't work without having anything for the associate to scan. However, when I brought back a third pair of earbuds that doesn't work, the exact same associate refused to give a return. Corporate needs to make it so store associates can change names of customers in-store. Also, two sets of earbuds have broke each within 14 days of me purchasing them and starting to buy them. read more

0/10 for service. The guy working on 8/7/24 at 4:30 pm on the ink side area check out said that they are too busy to help out with printing even though we tried printing at the printer for self service. He said that the file is too big and didn't even bother to help or figure it out. He said that his other coworker is busy with other stuff and we're not the priority. Lol what a funny service they've got here! read more

This location only has 2 available printers and does not give you the option to email any documents to a representative. The bad thing is that the printer is self check out and a lot of people do not know how to use it. If you pay in cash it takes longer. read more

This place is great and usually get good service. The biggest reason why I'm giving this a ine star is what my family experienced today. Your employees are setting off illegal fireworks in the parking lot. Making a very huge racket and disturbing the entire area. The explosion was really loud but more annoying than anything. Really unprofessional to have them in uniform while setting these off. read more

I placed my DoorDash App order and took a walk around the strip mall. And still waiting for an online order of masks, I found a 10pk of cotton/polyester disposable at Office Depot Van Nuys. It was originally $19.99 and reduced to $12. So, I picked up some Hershey's too. This pandemic sure skyrocketed prices. They didn't run out of office supplies... I just didn't know what else to get. Every single time I've gone in and had the same worker do my print jobs, she always messes them up, but she'll charge me for the items. She'll just forget to give me the whole print job I've paid for. Has happened multiple times and reported the worker and the management just excused it as a my fault type thing. Which made it all worse. Don't go there if you want them to print it for you. They'll likely mess up. And on top of that they always have a long line. You'll easily spend over 10 minutes in line to get your print jobs done. read more

They shouldn't be in business anymore. Employees aren't helpful, and don't even care that you there, they don't offer to help, they're doing they're own thing! And the equipment doesn't work! Never again will I go to another Staples. I hope they go out of business! read more

This location is pretty close to home, I had a fax I needed to submit and it was taken care of within minutes. Very poor customer service don't come to this store they have two workers for a 50 customers

Excellent service provided by a sales rep named Tim. Ordered a printer online and had trouble with their online service hence the 4 stars but, Tim did an excellent job following up and making sure I received my refund. Detailed and organized information was given when I had many questions. He should be recognized for following through to maintain great customer service! Thank you! read more

Went there just to buy a box to ship something I sold online and the line was long!!! They had one lady working the register and another helping out with copies and stuff so I decided to go a couple of doors down to get a boba drink and then come back so the line could shorten. When I came back same people were still in line!!! Did no one call for help at the register while I was gone??? Well I needed the box quite bad because item had to be shipped out that day for a nice pay day, besides I had nothing else to do so I waited... people in front of me were making flyers, some had a usb and wanted to get pics printed so it took forever for them to find the pics they actually wanted to print, others needed packets of copies!!! So it took a while I should've tracked the time but I didn't... I just know I went through my feed while I was in line, replied to emails, text in my group convo with my girls, and nearly finished my boba all while waiting! Like I said thankfully I had no where else to go but poor people who did, a guy in front of me was all suited, I'm sure he had business to attend. A lady in line with her kids had her kids all over the place poor babies must've been tired and bored of waiting around!!! Point is if you go there be prepared to wait... if you go there and there is no line, consider yourself lucky! And if you work there and read this please just call for help ringing people up especially if you see a long line of people and everyone looking stressed out!! read more

After some ups & downs, Office Depot - Sylmar, is on point!! I regularly submit copy orders online and my most recent one had many details. Victoria went through everything & took the time to call me with questions. My order was ready early & carefully packed in a big box. Manager Mayra is a great asset to this store, as well. She is a problem solver & always willing to promote customer service. Thank you!! read more

Just walked in my office at 7am and STEPPED ON THE PHONE CABLE! COMPLETELY TORE IT OUT THE WALL!! SOMEONE HELP ME!! haha... Luckily this Office depot is about 5 miles away from my work! (lol not that close) When I entered the store I was greeted in less the 10 seconds and was asked if I needed help which was a plus cause I had no time to walk around the store looking for my phone cable that a dreadfully needed ASAP. So the employee took me right to the wires and completed my shopping experience! I wasn't in there more than 2 minutes looking and paying for my item! hopefully I don't kick out my cable anymore! read more

I went to purchase a monitor and asked an associate which monitor was compatible with a Mac and he replied that they were all compatible with Mac. I purchased an HP and tried connecting it at home but it didn't work. I purchased multiple adapters and cords but it still wasn't working. I even YouTube'd and googled all possibilities but nothing worked. I spoke to a live agent through the text messaging system who told me to call the manufacturer because they weren't able to answer my question about compatibility. I spoke to the manufacturer who finally told me that Mac isn't compatible with the monitor I purchased... So it was an annoying long unnecessary process all because an associate told me something that was incorrect. I understand people don't know or make mistakes but maybe that associate should have double checked with someone or suggest the website for more accurate information. do your own research instead of relying on a store associate to give Information on their product. Especially when I don't know anything about technology or compatibility... Thankfully it was an easy return process too. I believe they have a 14 day return policy only so keep that in mind. The cashier who helped me return that item was helpful and empathetic, she offered to assist me in searching for a new one but I decided to buy elsewhere to avoid the same issue. read more

Came in two days in a row because I needed the printing services. It seems the printing center is the most busy compared to the rest of the store. The employee that helped me the first day seemed over working retail. The next day I used the self-serve copy machines and to use those you need to pay with card. The machine says they charge you $5 then give it back. So at the end they only charge you the amount of copies you take. I thought the initial $5 charge was weird. Overall, good experience. If you don't want to deal with any employees, the self-serve machines are the way to go. read more

They do not have a onsite computer in their print station to look or pull up the items so you can self print. I asked a gentleman with the title regional manager on his name tag if they could just look up the document and print it, they wouldn't have to download anything -- he said no and suggested I go to a library. Otherwise, I could try pulling up a PDF on my phone and email it to them, which I tried but the formatting of course was off and the lady at the front just said sorry this won't come out. Long story short, I drove to the Staples on Chatsworth who had a computer station with an attached printer. On top of that the desk clerk handed me a highlighter and helped me staple some papers together quickly. read more

usually don't complain or have a problem with the people that work here but I was being helped out by a nice man named Jose. wow just wow and not in a good way . i went in to print out pictures for a birthday card i am making normally i go to the northridge store but this one is literally 2 miles from me and it was 8pm so i said why not. so i go to the cpd area and asked marina (the rude older lady in copy and print) for the email. turns out that they no longer offer that service at this store (send pictures to the email to be printed) i said thats ridiculous thats what office depot is known for . she was not trying to help me at all no effort no nothing. she said that i have to place the order online and then theyll be able to do the prints. so 1. i know thats not true cause i go to the other store all the time and they never have that problem 2. i cant use my spc card online 3. they cant print multiple pictures on 1 page . trust me ive tried . so anyways i informed her of all that and she just said ima need to buy a usb and transfer them over since they cannot download the pictures .. bullsh*t so i asked to speak to the cpd supervisor.. she gave me the same speech . i then called the od in northridge and asked if thats a nee thing od is doing. sure enough the asm from northridge went out of his way to call the sylmar store and aske them what is going on which they left him on hold for a long time . all of a sudden the pictures were downloading.. what a miracle. i got my prints . and then when they were ringing me out i said i have my spc card .. and again marina said we cannot accept it unless its "your hands" i said its a direct link from my employer.. its not a screen shot . she said its company policy little did she know i worked at od and that was a load of crap . i said no its not and she then said well its andys policy (andy is the sm) i said thats not a company policy amd its not a screen shot so why are you being rude and difficult. she called over the cpd supervisor and she saw that it was infact a link and not a screen shot she was able to honor it .. she was ok but marina the worst . i get it shes been with the company for ever but man she needs to get with the program .. andy you need to have yet another talk with that lady ! worst service by far!! read more

Was there to print some important documents and got there 15min before closing because I had barely made it after work. Was having difficulty printing on their self printing service due to the machine lagging and constant error messages. Instead of a manger or employee approaching me to ask if I needed help (to move the process faster) they temporarily turned off the power which powered down the printers then said "sorry they turn off after a while after closing". If you wanted me out you should've stepped up and asked to help instead of forcing me out of the store. Terrible customer service, terrible leadership skills, terrible overall experience. read more
