I ordered tech support in my home to connect a new printer to my wi-fi system in my new home. They scheduled an appointment and I paid. I did not get the confirmation phone call they promised me so I called them to confirm. Turns out that they had cancelled the service without notifying me even though they had my name, address, email address and phone number. If I had not called them I would have been up early the next morning (8 am) and would have sat there waiting until noon. Not only did they not notify me they did not refund my money. The Creve Coeur Office Depot is well stocked and always has multiple employees available to help. The employees always seem to be working on something, but they will stop what they are doing to help a customer with a question or need. This store offers Copy and Printing Services, Ink Cartridge Recycling Services, Free In-Store Pick Up, Rewards Programs, and more. Being a Reward member really pays at Office Depot, make sure you apply to the Program. The Reward Program gives Cash Back Bonuses, Coupons, and Recycling Rewards. The cashiers will even help you pull up coupons on your phone. I have found Office Depot to be on my rotation of places to find unique gifts for others. I had a not good experience here on a Wednesday. I came for a specific cord that I saw on their website. I needed it for work the following day. When I was looking at the cords and did not see it I asked a young man walking by to help me and he did stop to do so. He was less help than me by myself. I walked towards the front and explained my situation to another young man and he asked me to pull up the item on my phone. I did and when he looked it up it was something that was internet only. He said if I'd like to order it it takes 3-5 days. I said is there a faster option because if I order it from Staples or Amazon it will be here tomorrow. No there isn't. I went back to the car and started exploring other options of where to buy it in person when it dawned on me that there were a bunch of adapters hanging on the shelf. I found the correct adapter on the website and walked back into the original aisle and there was an adapter that would work with an Ethernet cable to give me what I needed. I bought it and left. So disappointed that not 1 but 2 different employees couldn't help me and I had to figure that out on my own. I really can't think of any reason I'd come back here unless it's out of desperation as it was on this random Wednesday. read more

Stopped in here to buy precisely one box and one package of bubble wrap. Got those two things, and I also got a snippy, condescending attitude from the cashier. When she asked if "we" (motioning to my brother and I) were together, I replied "yes." After she wrung up my 2 items, she kept telling me to wait to insert my credit card because she's waiting on the "monitor." I figured something was awry with her screen, but after about a minute or so, I asked if I could insert my credit card. This is when she told me that she thought we were "all" together -- now including the gentleman (who was apparently purchasing a monitor) that suddenly appeared next to my brother. When I told her that it was just the two of us, she berated me regarding my ability to speak clearly; then she stated she was already helping this monitor man (how was I to know that, since her checkout line was EMPTY) and don't I understand what "all together" means? Employee I encountered needs a SERIOUS attitude adjustment. Only reason you get 2 stars is because I got a cheap box (what FedEx wanted to charge me $25 for) and a decent package of bubble wrap. If not for that, this Office Depot would definitely be a one-star blunder in my book. read more

Bigger then my regular Office Depot, but being bigger didn't make it better. Good thing I am fairly self efficient when shopping. I knew what I needed, and with the good signage in the store I was able to navigate my way directly to the office supplies I needed. I easily found an orange three ring binder and highlighter to keep me organized on my quest to visit all the 250 Birthday Cakes in the Cakeway to the West. What I found sad, is that there were 6 sales associates in the store working and not one of them offered assistance. How could they? They were all gathered up front talking amongst themselves. My previous career was retail and this store would have been a shoplifters dream with all the employees clustered together. Great variety and selection in a bigger store, but I will continue to shop my smaller city store that offers superior customer service. read more

Alright it is definitely time for an update and star bump! I've now been using this Office Depot for several months, mostly for their shipping center. I have "the routine" down and Jena, who works in the shipping/printing area, has joked that we don't even need to talk to complete a transaction. However, we always do because she is so friendly and pleasant. Megan in printing/shipping is also friendly and effective. They are the two employees I usually (and prefer to) interact with. Other employees seem to not be fully trained in shipping, but Jena or Megan are usually there. I forgot to mention in my last review, but OD has this rewards program where you get back 5% of everything you spend (wait or is it 10%? I think 5). Every quarter, they issue you a coupon that is essentially a store gift card for whatever you've accumulated. Pretty cool! read more

I was surprised when I went to print something out, and my black ink cartridge was out of ink. I kinda panic when this kind of thing happens. I'm usually prepared. But, I guess, not this time. So, I went in with my package, to make sure I got the right numbers, searched through all the ink jet opportunities . . . could have had some assistance . . . but I had none. The store was not swarming with patrons. Somebody could have helped me. But that didn't happen. I found what I needed and checked out. I'm calling this A-OK, because I found what I needed. But got no help. If I had help, it would have been a much quicker transaction. And probably happier for me, and less problematic. read more

Found the item we went in for without a problem. Check-out was a different story. The young man (teenager) was busy talking to a female worker (teenager) that just reported for work. As a customer I was ignored, he did ring up the sale but never acknowledged me. Never asked if I found everything I needed or ask if I had any questions. When I pointed out that I thought he was rude he said "we were only talking!" When I asked his name he said "I don't have a name." he put the receipt on top of the purchase and turned to talk to his friend again. No thank you for shopping at Office Depot. Refreshingly friendly and professional service. Ryan (Manager) and Justin (IT Support) went above and beyond. I've purchased computers online directly from Dell and had a good experience, but in-person customer service of the level these guys deliver is uncommon. I'd spoke with Ryan by phone beforehand to let him know what I was coming in for and when I arrived Justin was all ready to work with me. He set up my new laptop just the way I needed and helped me select the exact accessories I needed. Ryan came by to check in and see how things were going. Exemplary! read more

It's 7:30 and they're 4 (four) associates and a "manager" with 3 customers in the store and only 1 (one) person in the "WHOLE" store knows how to work a "copy/print machine". When I asked if anyone could help I was told "if you'd ask nicer I can help you" that's the most RIDICULOUS answer by a "manager". I'll NEVER GO BACK TO THIS STORE AGAIN!!! HUGE shout out to Office Depot. I sent some wedding programs to be printed. I knew they needed to be trimmed (the template I used had a big, obnoxious border around them stating the programs were only for personal use) and was fully prepared to do that myself. When I went in to pick them up today, I found they had already been trimmed for me. That definitely saved me a lot of time. Thank you! read more

Just left Office Depot on olive and saw the manager parked his big pick up truck in the handicapped spot. There were plenty of spots he could have parked in. I have a family member who is wheelchair bound and this happens a lot, really bad when it's the manager. read more

How is it you walk into a store and feel completely freakin invisible!!! No one takes the time to greet you! No one while assisting other customers stops to look up to say Mam I will be with you in a moment or let me find someone to assist you. I even had one work to say excuse me to walk by me while I was at the counter just to walk and help someone else! Then, that same worker walks this customer to the register where another customer walks in the store and he gladly assist her with a question. I am still standing waiting to be helped though!!! Why am I standing there unnoticed for more than 10 minutes unacknowledged, until finally I said, "Is there someone available to help me!" The man at the counter scoffs at me!!! At that point I was done!!! Why should I ever spend my money there!!!! Went down the street to FedEx barely getting in the door two workers loudly greeting " Welcome, How are you doing today? How can we help you?" FedEx was an Experience! I even talked to the store manager Ed at Office Depot who did nothing but make excuses telling me they were working short-handed! All it takes is 5 seconds to greet a customer. He offered me a weak apology. It was obvious that he was irritated that I asked him what the protocol is for greeting customers when they walk in! He didn't want to answer me! So here we have a trickled down effect! If that is how the manager rocks it explains why the associates are the way they are!!! I came in to do a print job about a week ago and Nicole was the worker that helped me. I have never seen such wonderful customer service. She went VERY out of her way to make sure my mother and I left happy with our product, helped us find things in the store, and never pushed us to do anything we didn't want. I'd give zero stars for this store if I could. This store has some of the worst customer service skills I've ever experienced. I purchased a paper shredder online. I had a reward certificate, a VISA gift card, and I was going to pay the small balance with a credit card. The site won't let you have multiple payment methods so I figured I'd just let them call me to get the credit card information for the remainder. The woman I talked to apparently didn't understand English well enough to do anything except get my credit card information because despite me explaining several times about the gift card, she charged the entire amount of the order to my credit card, even eliminating my reward certificate amount. So I go down to this physical store in Creve Coeur. After explaining what happened, the guy I talked to said there wasn't anything he could do in store about it but called their customer support number for me. I was on the phone no less than 20 minutes with some manager who said he would fix it (very slowly), but before he got anything actually done, we get disconnected. The store manager then comes over and asks if he can call them back for me. At this point I'm livid and leave. I call the customer service number when I get home and get some gal who says I need to call some other number because of the reward certificate. I call that number and it's a tech support line for the web site and they aren't open on the weekends. I call the customer service number again and demand to immediately talk to a supervisor. This supervisor is less helpful than the first one and says she can open a case and someone will call me Monday! Really?! I wasted more than an hour of my time at this point and she wants me to wait for a call back on Monday when I'll be at work and unable to spend who knows how long on the phone with someone who may or may not get my issue resolved. I saw on their site that you can return some items to a local store. I asked if I could do that with the shredder and I was told yes. Not wanting to visit the unhelpful Creve Coeur store again, I drive down to the OfficeMax location in the Chesterfield Valley. I walk in, explain the situation to the cashier, she calls over a manager. In less than 5 minutes she had the return processed, repurchase with the reward certificate and VISA gift card applied, and me walking out the door finally satisfied my issue was resolved. Chesterfield Valley location could handle the situation, but the Creve Coeur location couldn't do anything?! Really?! read more
