For the…read morepast seven years, Ink Spot has printed many meaningful items for my family -- from my wedding invitations to my children's birth announcements and birthday party invitations -- in addition to larger orders I've placed through the department where I work. Unfortunately, today that relationship ended over a $1.61 charge for envelopes. After being misquoted for a set of double-sided birthday party invitations and requesting matching envelopes, I received 14 invitations but only 7 envelopes. When I emailed to share that the envelope count seemed short, I was told not to worry and that additional envelopes would be set aside for me. When I returned to the store to pick them up, I was asked to pay $1.61 for the envelopes. I explained that I hadn't brought money because I didn't expect to need to pay for something that appeared to be part of correcting the order. The situation was reviewed, but the interaction was handled with a less-than-helpful attitude. Ultimately, I chose to walk away rather than continue the conversation over $1.61 -- because to me, it represented something larger. Over the years I have referred friends, family, and colleagues to Ink Spot, and I've valued supporting a local business. Situations like this are rarely about the dollar amount; they're about customer care and recognizing when a miscommunication has occurred. With that in mind, I'll be taking my business to HiTec moving forward, and I've shared my experience with those I've previously recommended. Mainly, I wanted to put together an autumn bouquet for my floor vase at home. This might be late now being that it's already October but when I visited, they still had a lot of Halloween decor. They had a few summer items in their clearance area but mostly, the store screams autumn, at least upstairs did. Lots of options for the bouquet I had in mind but I settled for a combination of their sale items. I ended up with a decent spread, I think. About the store. It is 2-story, well-kept and fairly organized. It seemed to be all self-checkout though. The employees were standing by the checkout area but turned a blind eye while I was trying to fumble around the scanner to scan my items. I wasn't sure which one paired with the screen I was using. But after some frustrating moments of no help, I figured it out. Aside from the frustrating end to my shopping, it went well. I love that they have sales on basically everything and that the store is organized.

This was the first location that I've ever seen with an upstairs. Many of the items were locked into place, and I had to summon a nearby employee for assistance. Eventually, I was able to locate the shears, but I was left with no options to replace my handheld sewing machine. The shear kit that I purchased was reasonably priced and the self-service kiosks for checking out were a convenient touch.

I like to roam the aisles just looking at everything and getting ideas for crafts I am probably never going to do but its fun even so Today I needed a flower for a new vase I purchased and brought along a wallpaper sample to try and match the flower. I went up and down the aisle and came up with the best color and style. Bonus it was 40% off! The floral stems aren't usually on sale. They had lots of workers there, stocking lots of boxes of Christmas and they had a ton out already. It was fairly busy on Saturday afternoon. I got the flowers, and some Thanksgiving dessert plates.
