I came in one day for an air duster as it was time to clean my desktop. There were a lot of aisles so it was a bit hard to find what I was looking for. However, the staff were able to identify this and helped me promptly. They also had other items that I needed but I decided that I would come back later since everything wouldn't fit on the back of my bike. I walked in and was not greeted, but what's new? That didn't bother me seeing as nowadays you're hardly ever greeted entering a business. I then began searching for the area to fax, print, scan etc... and to the left of walking in you'll see it. This was the first time I had gone to a print shop such as Office Depot to where I needed to do it myself usually I get someone to do it for me. I then asked a rather older gentleman if he could show me how to get started. He proceeds to say " what do you need help with it's easy all you have to do is follow instructions" I then replied "it's ok sir I don't need your help I'll figure it out" and he turned around kept searching for a screwdriver. Any other day his response would have been enough for me to take my business elsewhere, but I needed this information sent over asap. If you come in this place with the intent to get help, he would be the last person I would ask. Even from hearing him answer the phone when customers would call he seemed to be so annoyed and impatient to even offer help. Instead of him searching for whatever it was the customer inquired about on the phone he tells them right off it's out of stock. Now, it may have been if it's something you know right off, but there was absolutely no effort on his part to even attempt to look or even find a solution. read more

Don't EVER, EVER bring your phone here to be fixed! I brought my iPhone 7 to this Office Depot to replace the front glass, which was broken, and they made my phone worse over the course of two visits. When I brought it over the first time, they replaced the cracked glass, but when I later tried to make calls, I couldn't hear the other person unless I put the phone on speaker or used my headphones. (I had no problem hearing anyone prior to this.) So I brought my phone back to get that speaker issue fixed, but not only was that problem not resolved, they made the phone worse. Let me count the ways: [1] They broke my Home button, which was working fine before, but now I can't toggle between apps using my Home button, [2] the phone no longer reads my SIM card, so I can't make any calls or texts, [3] the charging port is now broken too, so I can't even charge my phone, [4] the camera is not working so I can't take photos or video, [5] the speaker no longer works, so I can't play my music, and [6] even the screen (which was the initial reason I came in in the first place) is now messed up -- see attached photo. I'm traveling tomorrow morning, so I need to have a phone to check on my flight, to request an Uber, to make business calls, to check my emails. Unfortunately, I can't do any of that now. I left the store tonight with a more broken phone than I brought over. I probably will need to buy a new phone. Thanks for nothing, Office Depot. Ugh! read more

When I was a kid, I didn't understand the 'why' behind places like 'Office Depot.' Just the very name brought immediate feelings of boredom and restlessness. Now, I am a regular at the store. Ahh, adulting. You bring so many unexpected joys. For a city the size of Nashville, it's a bit odd that there's only one Office Depot in the city proper. And that the one Office Depot is relatively small. I guess real estate in the city comes at a premium. By now, you know the drill: fight West End traffic to get a parking place (at least the location has plenty of parking), walk inside, get greeted by genuinely nice people, and go about buying whatever grown-up needs you have. Working from home the past nine years, I have become a fan of Office Depot. I am a member of their rewards program. I get their emails. I use their coupons. I have bought two desk chairs from there (I'm in one now), a desk (typing on it now), printer ink, printer paper, planners... I'm going to stop here. I'm realizing that I am starting to sound a wee bit sad. Here's the thing: there comes a time in life when GTL turns into F(urniture)P(rinting needs)O(rganization). It happens. I sent some things here to be printed for a bridal shower I am hosting. When I came to pick up the items, there were small ink splatters on most all of the pages. And they failed to include all of the documents that I had ordered. I asked them to reprint just four pages that were unusable, and waited in the store for 20 minutes for them to print 4 new pages for me. 20 minutes for just 4 pages! Terrible service, go to a different location. read more

Literally the worst service experience in Nashville so far. I had my arms full of supplies. I went to the checkout near the printing area where an older male employee just stood looking at my for 10 minutes. Not offering to check me out, nor directing me anywhere else. I finally noticed another register that had a long line forming. I walked over there to where a woman with red hair and an older woman were both checking out ONE customer moving at a snails pace. Why two people were on one register while so many people waited was beyond me. There seem to be so many other employees just standing around not doing anything. Finally a gentleman came over pulled me out of the line and helped me to check out. It took me 30 minutes from the time I stood in line to the time I exited, I only had four items to ring up. I really hope management sees this comment, and does something about the service in the store. Because I will not be returning. read more

I am in town on a youth retreat and needed a cable to project some info that I had not brought with me. This was the closest Office Depot so naturally I came to it. When I got close to the only employee I saw in the store, he was in the copy and printing department he lifted his hand before I could speak and pointed to the register at the other side of the store. He had not yet looked at me, nor did he ask what could he help me with, he only dismissed me. When he saw I hadn't moved he looked up and said rudely the other side I don't cash people out here and I explained that I only needed to ask something and walked away. I then figured things out myself after 37 minutes that would have taken me 5 if I could ask a question. The woman at the register was coughing everywhere and in the things she was bagging for me. She claimed to not have bags big enough for my stuff which I fit into the bags I already had been given to me by her, because she just wanted to go back to her folding chair. She was not happy that I had come in and therefore she had to get up and check me out, leaving her to have to actually stand and work. I then noticed that there had been a supervisor there all along who could have helped me with my question but I didn't ask her because she was in a grungy T-shirt and torn jeans and wasn't wearing the usual uniform as all their employees wear, or at least that red vest. And I also realized she had witnessed everything that had happened to me and the awful customer service but did nothing to help me, to answer my question, or to even address the lack of customer service provided by the employees she was leading that morning. Lesson learned, the closest place isn't always the best place when out of town check the reviews. That would have saved me a lot of trouble! I have to start by saying, this Office Depot gave me excellent in person service and I wish I could leave this review for the company as a whole... BUT I CAN'T. Starting with the positive, I bought a chair directly from this store and the workers gave me great information about their office chairs and I received a 5/10 year protection program for free! Now for the horrible experience: I purchased a desk online on May 27th. It said it was in stock #lie; and would be shipped to me by mid June (expected with Covid delays). A week later it said it was back ordered and I would be notified when it was back in stock. A MONTH LATER!!! (& many texts to their help # later- one of which replied that things are back in stock within 2-3 weeks #lie) It was back and stock and the delivery was set to July 17th #lie. Delivery day came and went which sent me on a wild goose chase. First I called Office Depot who said they contracted the shipper and it was supposed to be delivered on the 17th #lie. I called a day later after they told me the shipper would call me to schedule a drop off time #lie. (O.D. also offered me a measly 10% off if I wanted to reorder and cancel the package I'd been waiting TWO MONTHS FOR). I called a 3rd day which left me with a shipment code from SAIA (third party delivery). I called SAIA who said THEY contracted to a third party (and it was delivered to this contractor on the 13th so it should have been delivered on the 17th) and they would call me back (#lie) with a delivery date because it looked like it was set for the 24th. FOURTH DAY ON THE PHONE: I call SAIA back due to them not calling me back, they FINALLY got the third (4th???) party shipper on the phone who said they would deliver it on the 27th. I asked if they could deliver it sooner which they said was impossible (impossible?!?! You've had this package for 10 DAYS!). I get a call back 5 minutes later stating it was actually being delivered tomorrow (the 24th). I'm not optimistic it will be delivered tomorrow. Moral of the story, Office Max/Depot has HORRIBLE communication with it's shippers and lie at every turn to try to make you less upset. I'll never order online from this company again. Oh did I mention the product I bought was in stock 45 minutes away from me this whole time?! But they couldn't accommodate me canceling my order and purchasing it for the same price at one of their stores. read more

Very helpful place! I came in looking for a bunch of leather business card holders that were shown at that location from the Office Depot website. The salesperson that was working the floor directed me exactly where I needed to go, and showed me the options he had (which were quite a few). He told me he would leave me alone to browse, but if I didn't find what I was looking for, to come find him and he could probably order it online or another store. The only bummer is they didn't actually have the exact product I was looking at online, even though it showed them as in stock at that store. However, as I said, there were quite a few choice, and I settled for a comparable (yet pricier) product. All in all, I was pleased with everything. After a few decades of taking classes and various "acquisitions" (ahem) from old workplaces, we're set on office supplies for the next few decades. However, the one office supply we will always need is printer ink. And having an Office Depot nearby is very convenient for any emergency runs. The place has the usual stock that every Office Depot I've ever stepped into has. The store is laid out in a more rectangular than square fashion. I accidentally left my phone at home, which held the stock number of my ink. I knew the manufacturer and whether or not it was laser or ink, but the actual number is what I needed. I was ready to leave to buy ink another time when the clerk very astutely asked if I knew what color the cartridges came in. That I knew. Most importantly, that ruled out which ink I did not need. Knocking off a star for having to wait 15 minutes for someone to demagnetize the security tag off of my ink so that I wouldn't set off the alarms again. read more

I rate this Office Depot as OK because if you work in midtown and need something, thank goodness they're around. But then again, maybe not. It seems like every time I pop in here, there's something missing from the store that's on my list. If said list was "Hot Pink Duct Tape with Leopard Spots" and "Navy and Ecru Striped File Folders," then OK - understandable. But on my most recent visit, said item was #9 return envelopes. Like 50 for a small mailing I was doing. But, alas, no luck. If I wanted to spend $45 for 500 of them with security panels, yes. But I just wanted 50, would've taken 100, and no security panels or address windows, etc. - just #9. (I would've bought a reasonable quantity with the security panels - that wasn't an option). On another trip, it was a particular size Rolodex card that was missing. Prior to that, desk blotter calendars. You get it, it's always something. So off to 100 Oaks I have to trek... I will say they're nice about it, but not overly apologetic and no real remedy offered. It's easy enough in and out except the parking spaces out front are squeezed in a bit too tight, and sometimes you can't back up and out if some shmuck in an extra long truck or mondo SUV pulls in carelessly. It also annoyed me that I had the TN State form to purchase tax exempt for a group that I was volunteering with for said mailing in need of #9 envelopes. And they wouldn't accept that, saying you have to fill out their form and submit to their corporate office and then in a week or so they would send a card to present to purchase tax exempt. Really, people? I'm sure most smaller groups end up doing like I did and saying forget it and paying the $1.00, thus eliminating the need for Office Depot to hire proper accounting staff and upgrade to proper POS software where they could have accepted the form in the first place. Walked in to print out a few show flyers--the employee that "helped" me managed to wait on 2 different customers in front of me as he tried to figure out HOW to use their ONE printer. No apology, no "sorry about that!" when the revelation was brilliantly made that the printer had been giving them trouble ALL DAY. Wasted 30 minutes standing there while everyone else was helped. When I said "So do we just need to go somewhere else?" we were not even acknowledged--no "Sorry our printer's broken! Sorry we wasted 30 minutes of your time to figure that out when we knew it all along!" I would've liked a recommendation of another store I could've gone to, but the employees didn't even make eye contact. Wtf?!? read more
