I purchased a compression tester that was like $35 that turned out to be defective. I of course had decided to buy one of a better quality and was not going to trade it out for another one there. How can they be allowed to charge a 20% restocking fee in a defective item? The fact that it's defective should immediately mean that the customer should suffer 0 loss. They are not restocking it, or at least I hope they are not. And they should be compensated through their distributor or product representative. In my eyes that is essentially blackmailing their customers. It's you either keep this tool that has already proven itself to be of low quality or you pay them 20%. Had it been for use in a vehicle I would have purchased I higher end tool to begin with. But it was for a lawn mower, something I didn't work on very often so a lower quality tool would have been ok. Until that toll just flat didn't work right out of the box. At that point it immediately became clear that Harbor Freight diagnostic tools where not of a build quality that could be trusted. The tool was not being returned because I changed my mind, because I didn't pay attention and bought the wrong thing or for any other reason that could be attribute to myself. I can understand a restocking fee for customers changing their mind and returning an item, or because they didn't do their homework and bought the wrong thing. But to charge a customer 20% on a defective item because they chose not to attempt a repeat and went with a better product? To charge a customer 20% in a product they are going to be credited for via their product rep or their distributor (and if they are not it's either their choice or they didn't negotiate being credited the fault and defective merchandise when they negotiated the contract with their distributor). To charge a customer 20% when they walk out of the store with nothing? To make the customer financially responsible to you when the product you shelved and then sold them with the express understanding that it would work and it didn't? Any other company would want to see their customer walk out of their store whole, happy and satisfied. Instead Harbor Freight sees fit to charge their customers 20%. And when contacting customer service I was told a would be hearing from a supervisor. When I didn't I began calling and emailing customer service, for over a year with over 20 phone calls and at least 50 emails after being told that a supervisor would be in touch and they never were they proceeded to ignore me until I stopped calling and emailing. Feel free to Google asking if Harbor Freight charges a restocking fee when returning a defective product. It's a fact! They are made whole through their product reps or distributors and they still make their 20% profit by charging the customer a restocking fee on a defective item. HOW CAN A BUSINESS RIGHTLY CHARGE A CUSTOMER FOR RETURNING A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT?

However, they are close and available when needed. The only issue is that they need to reopen one of the three locations that closed in Pensacola or open one in the northern part of Santa Rosa County. I shopped a lot more for cards and products when the other locations were open. Going to the mall is great when looking for other items, but when in need of a specific Hallmark item, it's troublesome always going to the mall.

The toy section is really small but it was sufficient for what I needed. The BEST find today was Play Doh and the Play Doh hair salon accessories kit. The store was PACKED and there wasn't much room to maneuver in there. I definitely felt claustrophobic! The store was relatively clean and the person at checkout was friendly. I'd go back but not during peak hours or Holidays. Also, the frozen food selection was slim. I personally don't buy food from there EVER but I did notice the selection was lacking.

I usually pick up a few 6-oz. tubes of toothpaste for $1 each. The ones that boldy proclaim "30% more vs. 4.6-oz size!" Well, thanks, I guess. Six ounces is also 200% larger than a two-ounce tube, so why not drop the artifice and sensationalism and go for broke? Dunces. The lines get brutal here. Counter-intuitively, you might not think that a dollar store would get crowded, but I've seen the line (not lines...it would take a miracle to see more than one register open) 9-10 people deep. Most of those people pay with coins or something, because speedy dispatch of the customers ain't happening up in here. I usually depart annoyed and irate, although I keep going back to see what sorts of strange food is being offered. Lobster pate for $1 a can? Yep, they have (or had) that, and I bought it. It was nasty, but you never can be sure that you aren't about to eat the best thing ever, so I keep trying.

Four months in the unit and EVERYTHING I owned was destroyed by the worst rat infestation I have…read moreever witnessed. I went to remove my items after they catching them adding miscellaneous line items to my bill by changing my autopay. When I caught them, instead of returning the funds as promised they just hiked my rent $60 additional dollars then credited what they stole toward an increase of the same amount in rent making it all LEGAL.. Well, it's not.. This is insanity and predatory. Being paid up a month I decided to move. Easy right?? When I opened my unit after only 3 months I found EVERYTHING was destroyed. Rats the size of cats were nesting in all my tubs and mattresses. Everything, even the electronics are destroyed. The rates even chewed up the solid wood dining set. I demanded ALL 5 months of rent be refunded. I even had their 'insurance', but no policy info has been exchanged after several requests. I cannot touch anything in my unit. It is a complete bio hazard, not to mention I am highly allergic to mice and rats. Even if I weren't, what I witnessed is enough to call the health department and BBB. They need to be shut down. I was told by their own management they reserved the right to change my auto-billing and take 'whatever' out of my bank without my authorization. That is criminal. Who told them this? Super low IQ people. I have made numerous requests to refund and help clear the unit. Instead, they have locked me out. As a local business owner and community advocate it's my duty to my community to cancel these type businesses. I can't imagine how many things of others have been destroyed. After reading the reviews it goes without question they are very aware. My heart goes out to everyone who lost their stuff due to these fraudsters... I will shut them down. BET
