On September 11, 2012 at 3:15 pm I went to Cartridge World to purchase new ink as well as return an ink cartridge that was defective. I walked it and the older lady (by the name of Debbie) was working and asked if she could help me and I began to tell her about the defective cartridge and she immediately started arguing with me. She stated "If the cartridge is empty that there is nothing she could do" While stating this fact was grabbing a binder off the counter, I assume that is was some sort of chart that tells her what each cartridge weights. The first time she made the statement I was in shock a little, because I have never been talked to so rudely before when visiting this store. As I was trying to explain I don't remember when I made my last purchase but I know I purchased 2 black cartridge and 1 color. She then interrupted me and said now if the cartridge were empty then there was nothing she would do because they don't sell empty cartridges. I then said mistakes happen mam. Then I tried to tell her once again that I am a repeat customer and that if she would look me up and see when I made my last purchase...she interrupted me again say the cartridge was empty and that they don't sell empty cartridges. Not once did she ask for my name, nor did she attempt to look at my purchasing history. By the 6th time she repeated herself, I became very angry and restated exactly what she was stating to me ...."So your telling that because the cartridge I handed her, that I was having trouble with, was empty she wasn't willing to do anything for me." I then stated "well if that is really your position then I will not be returning to this store for anymore of their products." She then said she was sorry that I felt that way and thanked me as I walked away from the counter.
The sad part of this entire situation is that if the clerked had taken the time to look up my profile and saw that when I make my purchases I purchase 3 or 4 cartridges at a time. She would have also seen that I have using their store for almost 2 years. But now that I have treated like a liar and a criminal I will never return to this establishment. This women (Debbie) that waited on me has no business of being in customer service or in direct contact with the public. Also on a side note this wasn't the first time this women has waited on me and she always rude and never smiles. When I first started visiting this establish there 2 young black men were the ones always there, and waited on me. They were always fast, friendly and very respectful. I will never step foot in Cartridge World again and I will tell all of friends and family about me experience there.
Update: 09/19/2012
I have since tried to contact the store owner Steven Parker as well as the corporate office. The email that I sent the corporate office has been completely ignored; no one has contacted me what so ever. As for the store owner, I have called everyday since, he is never there and his employees aren't privileged to his work schedule. That alone sounds very weird to me, in 12 years of retail customer service both as an associate and manger I always had my schedule posted . When I was a manager my schedule was always posted where my associates could see it just in case. Too bad no one at Cartridge World cares enough about their customer to take care of a major problem like this. read more
