Friendly staff, this place has a little bit of everything. Boutique baby items, funny cards, lotions and sprays, high end PJ's, dresses/tops (Johnny Was), toy section for that last minute bday gift (Legos, books, other toys) and you don't want to go all the way into Bee Cave or Austin to get it. They also have a whole area in the back if you are in the need of reupholstering your house goods with many different fabrics and textures. We came during Christmas break so they had a seasonal section in the front of the store that was on sale post xmas. Plenty of parking, easy in/out as its right off 290. For years and years I have heard this mythological unicorn of a chair advertised on the radio, but I've never really seen one in real life, much less been encouraged to sit in one. All of this changed recently, thanks to Workplace Resource which, unbeknownst to me, is a local dealer of said chairs. The way I ended up at Workplace Resource is a sad story with a happy ending. It goes a little something like this. I have logged many, many years in Dilbert-style office environments, complete with old, beige, misshapen hand-me-down, who-knows-where-it-came-from furniture. The furniture I am referring to is the stuff of non-profits and government office buildings, where old furniture goes to get even older. As I have found out over the past couple of years, an inappropriately-sized chair is not only inconvenient, but also painful ... and I've got the chiropractor and physical therapy bills to prove it. As a short person in a tall world, my chairs have never EVER fit me ... that is until my current employer treated me to a visit to WorkPlace Resource, where all the office furniture is young and beautiful and ... well, you get the picture. As it turns out, it is also a "Working Showroom" which basically means that all the employees are sitting in modern cubicle structures and office chairs that the rest of us can only begin to imagine in our wildest dreams. Not only do this help the employees look happy and provide good customer service, it also helps make all of this suuuper-fancy furniture seem less intimidating and much more attainable. All of that being said, I want to be clear that all of this nouveau rich furniture is available at a price that is not inconsequential ... I'm talking $500 to $1,000 as starting price points people ... but if your employer (whether it's a corporate fat cat or Uncle Sam) wants you to stay seated and productive all day long without having to worry about worker's comp, then these price tags are a mere pittance. During my fun and informative visit to Workplace Resource, I felt a little bit like Goldilocks and the three chairs. The first one was tooooo big, the second was toooo small, and the third one was juuust right. They all came with bells and whistles that I had never been treated to in my previous chair ... things like built in lumbar support and rotating armrests and strange knobs that adjusted the tension (!!?!) on my would-be chair. After we picked one out, we went to a room *full* of fabric swatches where I got to customize my chair. In case you are wondering, we got sensible black and grey, but if I ever gather enough coins to go here on my own dime, you better believe it's gonna be a festival of crazy-colored fabric. Until then, I'm gonna be living large in my new Herman Miller chair.

It took a few weeks for my parts to come in, which I paid for in advance, and then the repair was done on the same day. I dropped off the chair in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon, although I had the option to wait for the repair. Overall, I'm very happy with the service that I received.

I was shopping around at several furniture stores looking for several new items from American Leather for my new apartment. The other stores had the usual feel to them, but Collectic Home was very different. When I entered I was immediately greeted & made to feel at home & supported as I looked around the store with the help of Joni, the owner, herself as well as one of her team members. Joni was Fantastic - she clearly knows a lot about Interior Design -- I showed her pictures of my new apartment & she knew exactly what I was looking for & what direction to point me in. There were also a couple of times where she could have upsold me, but told me that I really wouldn't want that option because the standard style or a different (less expensive) option was better -- that's the true customer service and care that I love to experience when I am shopping for something. Putting the client first & actually caring about helping them make the BEST decision for them. And in turn that will inevitably lead to much more of my business down the road. I had another furniture store stop planned after Collectic, but abandoned that idea all together as I decided to buy everything I needed from Collectic for the support that I received. They do carry electrical items and they carry wine glasses and beautiful Christmas trees. I was searching for a certain wine glass I wanted to get 10 of them today except that it's Hit or Miss because they don't carry 10 items you have to order or find them in the store. So if you want to purchase several of the same wine glass good luck with that. The beautiful objects are still there, but the shop appears to be quite understaffed... and whatever staff there is is struggling to keep up. I genuinely felt sorry for them. This is an ACE hardware store coupled with a tasteful, high end and carefully curated and presented homeware selection, including tableware, gardening supplies, greeting cards, candies and candles and one of a kind objects for the home. A $2,400 candelabra, a Smeg toaster, an excellent selection of flatware, tablecloths and glassware... pretty pajamas, $90 votive candles... But what to do if you want to know the price of that set of Wedgewood china, or the Rialto flatware? Prices are missing on so so many objects. And you cannot find a staff member... And you only have so much time before you need to meet mom for lunch. Ah well. Many of us are trying to ween ourselves off of online shopping. Retail stores... this is your moment to recoup some ground.
