Betting is fairly easy. You can either go up to the window or use the machines. They had extra machines set up for Derby Day. The place was packed! Luckily, they were taking reservation. We were able to get a table for our group of 10 right next to the window. Perfect view for watching the live races. There was a slight issue with the food or should I say lack of food. They had 1 small concession stand set up, which sold hot dogs, roast beef sandwich,pop corn, and a few other items. The lines there were super long. Considering that most people got there in early afternoon & stayed until the Derby ended (7:30ish) they could have had more available. The spot where they sometimes have a buffet was totally empty. Ironic, isn't it? If our kids did that we would be horrified. I wanted to say "go out and play!" but whatever. So if gambling is not that important, good food and I know they have an entertainment and hotel that I have not experienced, so I think the potential for a meal and entertainment without spending anyone's inheritance.
