This place has the best fish & chips my wife & I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Small wonder they were as busy as they were. We were in Airdrie for 5 days in 2015 and ate fish & chips from here twice. Have had good Fish & Chips on Vancouver Island Canada, but the food and the lovely staff here were so much better. Other customers were wonderful & friendly also. Wish it wasn't such a long trip as I get a craving :-)) This is a take away only, but we sat on the steps and ate.

Portions are huge, with a mountain of chips and two items in every supper. Food although deep fried is not that horrible greasy way which makes you feel ill after eating it. Best thing about this place though is their brown sauce which they water down with vinegar. Can't beat it covered all over your fish supper. Yummy!!!!!

A wee hiccup with the order process did lead to one of the pizzas having the wrong toppings (I still ate it, and it was still great), and when I called the shop to tell them they could not have been more helpful. They checked the order and realised their mistake, apologised and offered me free pizza of the same value the next time I order. Top customer service! I can't be sure if the fault lay with Just Eat or with Marco's, so I can't reasonably give them less than 4/5 for it. Besides, their excellent customer service deserves a star in itself.

They do have excellent pizzas, however, but don't order an Atlantic Special online if you're having mozzarella cheese as one of the 5 toppings. The website will include it in the base price but the shop's system will charge for it, and it causes confusion. When I raised this with the shop it caused an argument between me and the owner because he didn't believe me. Like I said, the pizzas are good, if a bit expensive, and their fish and chips are good too, if a bit on the small side for the price. Their dime bar cheese cake is worth a try.

Although it is near me I would personally prefer to get in my car and travel a bit further afield but I suppose for loads of people it is really handy so this will be part of its appeal. Prices are reasonable and serves all the normal fare that you would expect. Last time I went I found the food really greasy and my chips were hard so not somewhere I would rush back to when there are some really good alternatives less than a mile away
