Even the "lucky cat" and the hand written signs on the walls give you the indication this is not just another chippy. The place has been spotless every time we have visited with pleasant staff who are always quick to take your order and give you a shout when it's ready. That said there are a few things that I find a bit confusing, for example they cut the pakora in half before frying them (?), this can cause them to be a bit dry, but at least they are well cooked. They also only have two vegetarian options on the menu :-( Friends and family (who are not vegetarian) have advised that their orders have been tasty and I have never had a bad portion of "double fried" chips. This has quickly become our "go to" chippy, especially as it's just up the road from us.

The website will include it in the base price but the shop's system will charge for it, and it causes confusion. When I raised this with the shop it caused an argument between me and the owner because he didn't believe me. Like I said, the pizzas are good, if a bit expensive, and their fish and chips are good too, if a bit on the small side for the price. Their dime bar cheese cake is worth a try.

Went recently after I got booted out of a Poker tournament at a nearby pub to cheer myself up and.. well.. it worked. The fish and chips is stellar, amongst the nicest you will taste anywhere in Scotland. Freshly prepared, piping hot and crumbling to pieces in a light cripsy batter. We then shared a Banana sticky toffee pudding as we were too full to have one each. The sponge was lovely and soft and the bananas were caramelised on top. Truth be told, I could have probably ate this myself looking back. Staff were lovely and attentive. I never tried any wine but they had an extensive list. Go here if you want amazing food at a reasonable price.
