Perfect time is when the tides are low! I've never ran into any issues with this dog park, very clean and the Edmonds community is very friendly and welcoming. Sometimes they have Tennis Balls available to borrow while you're there too. My dogs & I love this place!

Beautiful place to take your dog to run around off-leash. Full of wonderful sand, seashells, driftwood, marine life, and many other happy and playful dogs. Being on the beach is an added bonus for many dogs who love to swim and fetch in the water. So many dogs abound, there is activity everywhere. With beautiful sunsets most of the time it's a lovely place to spend time with your pal, your dog. There is a fenced off small dog area for those a little more shy initially. Overall it is a large park with a variety of textures, activities for the dogs, places to act crazy and have no holds barred fun. I highly recommend taking your dog/s to this beautiful and practical off-leash dog park.

Took my two little dogs to the park.. What a great place for dogs.. Swimming, running a great social place.. My little boys aren't social and it was stressful for them but I kept to myself and held them back when the friendly dogs came over to say hello.. Eventually they will get socialized.. Owners friendly and cleaned up after pets.. A great water and wash area.. Not totally fenced off if your dog didn't listen could run over the rocks but most people who bring to dog parks should have that under control.. Can't wait to go back!

This place is great! There is plenty of space to roam, plus the sound to romp in. There are always plenty of pups to play with, and the humans are pretty attentive to their furry friends so scuffles are quickly resolved. There's a small, separate enclosure for small dogs under 15lbs, which I think is nice as some of the pups here are fairly large, and a little one could get lost in the mix. On a bright, sunny day like today parking can be a bit of a challenge, but there is plenty of parking that's just a short walk away.

This place is still open despite COVID-19! Instead of staying at home and getting bored, take the pups out to the beach! I haven't seen another beach for dogs since the Huntington beach in California. This is a very rare find for Washington and I would highly recommend going. It is a huge area completely fine staying on both sides but the water is not fenced off so I would be aware of that if you have a dog that runs! There was plenty of dogs and it had clean water stations. Below are some photos of my dog having a blast in the ocean! She is my little mermaid.

What an amazing view this off leash dog park has!!!! Picturesque views of the Puget Sound, Olympic Mountains and Kitsap Peninsula. This park is slowly becoming one of my favorite places to bring my dog to. Not the biggest dog park around, but it is the perfect size for my corgi plus it has beach access and very well maintained. One piece of advise for anyone planning to come here, is to get here early due to the limited parking, especially on the weekends.

My dog loves this park! The water is nice and there is plenty of room for multiple dogs to fetch balls from the water, which is a big plus over Magnuson even if the park is smaller in general -- though if your dog isn't a huge fan of the water you might be better off with one of the larger parks. Fresh water is available for drinking and rinsing off sandy dogs, port-a-potties are just outside the gates for the humans. You can catch some beautiful sunsets here and the views during the day are pretty nice too. It's nice to just find a log and listen to the waves and let the dog play for a bit. I've only had issues with aggressive dogs or obnoxious owners once or twice here, which is a nice break from some of the other parks in the area. During the summer months people sometimes bring blankets and have picnics along the beach and that can be awkward, but why would you bring a basket of food into a dog park and then be upset when you are surrounded by twenty dogs all trying their damndest to look like they've been starved and your sandwich is their last hope? As others have noted, parking can be difficult during summer months, but it's never taken me more than a second lap around to find a spot. One thing that may also deter some people is the fact that there are train tracks that run along the southeast portion of the park. They don't go by all that often, but when they do and you're in that part of the park it is LOUD.

rocky but dogs in the water don't mind

As others have said, this is a small section of the beach that is for dogs and the only place they are allowed as the many signs posted indicate. They aren't even allowed in the grassy areas. It is a very rocky section of the beach--no real sand and the sand that it there is pretty rough. Most of the ground is rocky and not really conducive to walking or playing. I suspect it is better when the tide is at a certain level. Gorgeous views and is a good area for dogs that like the water but again very rocky at the edge. Not a place if you want to take your dog to run and play with others dogs as there just isn't any room, but nice that they allocated a section of the beach for dogs. Parking lot is right next to beach so quick walk to water.

Love this dog park. Lots of open space and huge beach area. Also fun to bring the kids with all the shells to see. Plenty of baggies and trash areas. Always clean and well taken care of.

We ran on the trails abutting the space for practice and had fun spotting the occasional grazing deer or scurrying chickaree (North American red squirrel). We all wanted the meadow to stay or go a more nature way, however urban development/urban sprawl quickly ensued and in a few years the meadow was replaced with an off-leash dog park. The track and field at Shoreline Community College I used for walking when earning my associate degree there (graduated June 2010), however that space now serves as a parking lot for the college. Hence, if one wants a flattened area for walking near the college, the dog park is conveniently located neighboring the campus. On a side of the off-leash area towards the trail system of Shoreview Park, Hidden Lake, and Boeing Creek Park is an entrance with rules posted and park closing time of day communicated (at dusk), as of Thursday 7 September 2023. I used to walk dog(s) down by Hidden Lake, we enjoyed watching the ducks swimming in the lake. However, in the past couple years the lake has been filled in, hence no more watching the ducks in the lake. Sad that more and more space is being taken away from the wildlife, but it is just the way of the city these days.

Well as my dogs were smelling one of the other dogs, they had their hackles up ( which I understand is sign of excitement, fear, anxiety or aggression). Well in response the women took her dog into the "small dog area". Minutes later the other two women did the same. It is a dirt lot and even though it was dry yesterday, the pups were still very dirty from their brief visit. I had a lil dog run up to me and it got dirt all over me. I mean, I don't mind. Once inside however, you can enjoy several nature interaction features, even nature solitude, while the children's playground has been revamped as of 2025. The park manages to fit in many things such as the following -- * A designed, interactive, children's educational garden managed by trained "Master Gardeners." Here, tons of produce are grown and donated for charitable food distribution. Imaginative and whimsical garden sculpture will draw surprise delights, and thoughtful plantings offer live lessons of ecology. * A "community garden" with multiple raised growing beds, where citizens rent a "patch" to grow their own fresh vegetables (and it has a compost pile in the back if you want to drop off your kitchen scraps). Rent includes gardening tools, watering hoses, and a generally well-run operation. * A skatepark, basketball courts, picnic shelter with multiple picnic tables for the community to hold events * A fun quirky children's playground with fun swings and slides * A view through the trees and downhill, of Poulsbo's downtown and harbor, flanked on the far horizon by the Olympic mountain range, an excellent place to watch a summer sunset. Sadly the park benches face in the opposite direction from this jaw-dropping view--back towards a worn walkway and old picnic table. The imagination of bureaucracies and their workmen of how people might behold nature and appreciate its grandeur is seriously impaired (such a view of the Olympic Mountain Range and they set up seats facing the opposite direction?!) * A few single-track foot trails into the woods around the perimeter of the flat, artificially planted lawn lead into wooded hillsides and offer shady nooks, rich with bird calls, to escape from the open hilltop monoculture of grass * The central flat expanse of monocultural grass is a horrendous ecological desert, a big zero--but fits the American settler desire aesthetic of claiming land into the wide horizon. (Beware the many entitled dog owners who run their pets without leashes on this wide open space, yet another City liability -- waiting to become a law suit.) This park is used by many people and is wonderful for people watching, while still having space for your own private experience of communing with nature.

I don't know why, but I have always been scared crossing the bridge over the railroad tracks on the way from the parking lot to the beach. I have no fear of heights, and in fact I feel much more peaceful in the air or on the water than I do on the earth. The bridge is sturdy and safe, with tall, secure fencing on both sides. Little kids were crossing it today with no fear at all. One little kid was getting pulled across it in a large wagon. That was pretty cute to see. It is a bit of a trek from the parking lot to the beach area, a trek that includes this perfectly safe bridge which I somehow mysteriously feel scared while walking on. I recently injured my right heel playing tennis, so I was limping and hobbling and walking quite slowly, but this walk was still quite doable for me today. There were a lot of people at this beach park today, but it really didn't feel crowded, and everyone we talked to was friendly. The only slight bummer was that one of the reasons that we went out there today was to talk with a Naturalist from the Seattle Aquarium. We talked with 3 different Naturalists. They were all friendly enough, but all 3 of them seemed noticeably unenthusiastic about talking about the sea life at this beach park. Oh well, we moved on pretty quickly from that, and we really enjoyed this beach park anyway. There were a few people flying kites, and the mountains looked clear and bright behind the sunlit water. The benches are very crooked and extremely dirty, and there is a number of very large puddles in the walkway near the entrance. Yes, I realize this is Washington state... But it's quite simple to redirect the flow of water in a place like this, that is so intentionally landscaped. I certainly don't have a problem with my dogs getting dirty or even muddy, but the amount of water that gathers is a little bit ridiculous.
