I called Jeff on Monday, asking for assistance with non-working outlets and an issue with my fan. Much to my surprise, and delight, he tried to troubleshoot the issue with me on the phone to, in his words, save me the expense. When that didn't resolve the issues, he squeezed me in for today despite his already long workday. Called Jeff Sellen at Odyssey asking if they installed Ring doorbells & cameras which I had already purchased. He answered the phone, came out the next day for an estimate and 2 days later the installation was done. Even though he had several other jobs already scheduled that day, he made sure he fit us in. Also gave us options on the installation which saved us a lot of money. We liked that's he a LICENSED electrician, not just someone who says they know how to work with electricity. Called with odd problem, ceiling lights in two of three bathrooms went out (but not the outlets) after an AC repairman was here. Could not find issue, could not fix it by turning all circuit breakers on and off again. Called Odyssey and Jeff directed me to a GFI outlet in the garage near the circuit box. Had me turn it off and on so the yellow light did not show any more. That fixed it!! No charge! read more

After years of having small electrical issues, we had a major issue. Back in September part of our house electric wasn't working. We called out an emergency electrician, one hour electric (WE WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN OR RECOMMEND THEM). They said our main breaker was bad, $1,300 later they replaced the main. That wasn't the issue. NV Energy came out and changed out the meter (at night, so we couldn't see much). Issue fixed...so we thought. 3 months later, half the house went out again. We called NV Energy again, and they came out and pulled the meter to find one of the contacts was toast, burnt to a crisp, and fell off. We are lucky we didn't have a fire. He disconnects half the power, so we have time to find an electrician to change out our whole panel. Call another electrician, Jeff with Odyssey Electrical Services, and schedule for him to come change out the panel for Friday. He calls on wednesday to schedule the disconnect for friday, and NV Energy disconnects us on Wednesday. When I called them, they were less than helpful and blamed it on the electrician. After speaking with my husband, when they called him to verify the Friday scheduled disconnect, the lady asked what happen and he explained it to her and she took it upon herself to feel as though we needed to be disconnected immediately, which we didn't. The house was not in danger any longer because the tech disconnected the main wire that would have caused the danger. So, with my elderly father in the house, we now had no power thanks to the incompetence of NV Energy. Our house is 100% electric, so we had no heat, no hot water, nothing worked, and they are charging us $500.00 for the disconnect/reconnect. Gotta love being screwed by NV Energy. This electrician stopped everything and came out to start our panel Wednesday nt, worked late into the nt, and came back Thursday to finish. We had an electric back on Thursday late afternoon. I would give Jeff the highest rating. He offered to come and install a lighting fixture at the end of his normal workday. He quoted me a price if it was a standard change out. It turned out to be much more complicated but he didn't want any more $ to which he was definitely entitled. Wouldn't leave until the job was properly finished which was around 7:15 pm. (He started at 5). I wish I had more electrical needs to use him for now. In addition he's a very nice guy and interesting to talk to. read more
