Having been a resident for the past three years, I will state Odin is an amazing community. They have been consistently on top of any repair request I have ever made. The staff is kind, friendly, and always attentive to any concerns I have ever expressed. When I was walking my dog, someone from the neighborhood asked if you needed a dog in order to be a resident at Odin. I replied, "No, yet it helps." As pretty much everyone in the building either has a dog, cat, or some other pet. Which is possibly why the residents seem to be mellow, respectful, and kind to each other. If you are not keen on animals, then this may not be the building for you. As a majority of the tenants have them or want to get one. I have lived at Odin for two years now. I loved it my first year, but things quickly started to go downhill. Security is terrible, safety is not guaranteed, and you're being charged luxury prices for it all. - Package theft. I don't know what was going on, but for some reason the leasing office couldn't keep a handle on packages in our building. The mailroom would get broken into and residents would get upset emails about not collecting packages right away. Odin "solved" the problem by hiring Fetch, a delivery service with a completely different address. Now, you send all your packages to Fetch which delivers them to your door up to several days later. Not only are your packages delayed, but you also get the joy of paying a monthly fee for this service that you CANNOT opt out of. Even better, there were rumors that someone in the leasing office (who has since left) was enabling the break ins. So that's awesome. - Parking garage break ins. Parking at Odin costs anywhere from $180 to $210 a month, which is extremely high for the area. At least you can rest easy knowing your car is safe, right? NOPE. There are frequent break ins to the garage, and tenants find out from other tenants rather than management. Car windows are broken, things are stolen, and nothing changes-- you just have to hope you won't be next. Management extends their apologies, but ultimately nothing changes because Equity Residential "is not responsible for the security of your vehicle." This is according to a new sign they added after the first round of break ins. Thanks Equity! - "Dog friendly" except you can't have your dog in any of the common areas. Super friendly! - The location. Odin is right off of Market St, which is lovely. But the amount of break ins and noise at night is unbelievable. I can count on being woken once a week by someone screaming outside or threatening violence. I do not live on the ground floor-- I really feel for them. You can tell that they feel unsafe, because turnover in the loft apartments is insanely high. So if you're seeing deals on loft apartments, it's because they can't get anybody to stay. - Pricing. I used to think that the higher price of these apartments was worth it for how nice the units were-- but with the security issues, it's honestly not. You can more easily afford better down the street, let alone a little bit out of the city. I'm paying upwards of 2500 for a one bedroom apartment that's under 700sqft with one single parking space. That's how much the fees cost. New tenants are being offered 1700 for the same floor plan. It's nice if you're a new tenant-- but take a moment and think about what this means about how much management cares about existing tenants. This was not lost on us, and tenants were leaving by the dozen up until about a month ago for cheaper housing. Odin responded not by addressing concerns, but by raising the lease-break fee to 3 months rent - 7500 for me - to stop people from leaving. During a pandemic that is leaving many people out of work. I used to love the community at Odin. I used to love Jon, the leasing agent- he truly brightened the residents' experience and eventually had to leave the company because he wasn't even fairly compensated for it. I do love having laundry in unit. I do love how soundproof the actual apartments are. The hardwood and the appliances are pretty. At this point, though, the things I like are not worth the issues this place has. And the company knows it, and is doing anything they can to improve retention other than actually helping their current tenants. The staff here is fine, and some of them are even great. Maintenance is wonderful. But ultimately, somebody higher up just does not give a crap, and it shows. I'm biding my time to get out of here, and I suggest you try somewhere else as well. And for the love of god, don't rent a loft. I'll leave you here with quotes from current residents in our apartment message board, along with some images from the forum as well: "Never put yourself at risk, of course. But since security is not being increased, since our office staff and Equity as a whole are ignoring us, since we're stuck in this together, maybe try to use the (socially distant) buddy system when possible, carry a flashlight at all times, and maybe even a whistle or something you can use to make noise and draw attention if one of the criminals confronts you?? These are literally the tips I was given by my mom to avoid rapists, muggings, etc, they aren't perfect, just please use caution around the property and garages especially!!! My husband and I have lived at Odin Ballard for almost a year now and we have almost entirely good things to say! Let's get right to the list! Pros: - QUIET !! This building is built with extra sturdy walls or something, we are amazed at how quiet it is inside (outside is another story). Honestly I can say that I almost NEVER hear my neighbors! -SAFE! The key fob is needed for entry to the courtyard, inside the building, stairwells and elevators. We feel very safe in this building. - LOCATION! Right in the heart of Ballard, what more can you ask for?! - CLEAN! Management does a great job at keeping the building and surrounding areas near and tidy! - Easy interactions with management! They have been awesome, no complaints! - The year we have lived here we have needed zero repairs! Our unit is in great condition. - Package deliveries by Fetch - Lovely rooftop deck with comfy couches and barbecue grill. Also a nice gym that we haven't been able to use due to the pandemic. . Cons: - Parking garage is TIGHT!! If you have a large vehicle this may be a deal breaker for you! Even with a small golf GTI we have managed to scratch our car twice already trying to maneuver the cramped spots. Back-up camera will be essential! Just go ahead and budget in some car repairs when you sign the lease! - Outside noise - seems like every day is trash day or leaf blower day, but on the positive at least you know they are on top of this! - Homeless/crazy people. This is a product of living in the city. There are some sketchy people around that make things interesting! Carry pepper spray at night! - It's gonna get HOT in July/August, no A/C. Updating now that I've moved out after living here for several years Some notes Security/parking * The garage is not secure: Somebody attempted to steal my motorcycle while I lived here and caused substantial damage to it * The garage is not secure: In December 2020 somebody went through and broke the windows on maybe one third of the cars in the garage. If you look at the ground of P1, you can still see shattered glass which was only half-heartedly cleaned up * The secure bike room is not secure: Somebody stole my (bike-locked) bicycle from the bike locker while living here, and there was evidence somebody else's was stolen (a cut cable) * Unreserved parking is the worst. I found myself going out less while I lived here because I hated getting home and having to spend 5 minutes looking somewhere to park my car (particularly in the evening when everybody else is home). Less of a concern for smaller cars or if you pony up extra money for reserved parking Packages * Fetch is _ok_. It's great to get packages delivered to your door, but it sucks that you might have to wait longer for them, it sucks to have a different shipping and billing address, and it sucks to have a different mailing and shipping address. * Fetch did suffer less package theft than when the building was doing it onsite (and packages including mine were either stolen from the leasing office or opened up by thieves), and I have no problems with package theft after the building started using Fetch Staff * Staff turnover is very high. Very few employees outside of facilities seem to last even a year at Odin (the guys on Facilities are great though) * Office staff hours have decreased substantially since the building has been open (they used to accept packages, for instance. Now tenants pay an extra fee for fetch and the folk in the leasing office work less) Area * I really liked the area. There's a lot of food places around Ballard and the location is generally really good. Food places? Nearby and plentiful. Good gym? Just across the road. Burke-Gilman bike trail? Not far! I am going to miss the location of Odin a LOT * Regardless of what end of the building you are on, there WILL be noise. West side? Fellowship of Eagles and dumpster noise in the early mornings. East side? Don't be surprised when you're listening to antivaxxers or unstable/violent people shouting at hospital security late at night * If you're across from the hospital, expect a LOT of leaf blowing. Odin does it, and the hospital does it, both using what I believe to be environmentally-awful and also INCREDIBLY LOUD two-stroke leaf blowers * If walking around the area at night on weeknights, get yourself some pepper spray or something similar. There are a lot of homeless people around Ballard, and while a lot can be friendly/chill, the risk walking around this area is higher than elsewhere Building * The layout of the complex is kind of unfortunate. You may be either near the trash chute, or near the elevator. Not the end of the world (and might be mitigated if you're on a lower level and use the stairs) but I wish both were just in the middle of the building. Similarly if you're in the south building, you'll probably use the facilities (particularly the lounge and the rooftop) less because you're a long walk from them, especially if you're on the other end of your building to the elevator * Heat: I could practically get through winter without turning on my heater more than a couple of days, but during winter the building really heats up and most apartments do not have good ventilation, so you'll want to buy or rent a portable AC in summer * Sometimes repairs can be slow. Within the last year one of the building gates was broken for about a month * In the last few months living here, ButterflyMX (which is otherwise super convenient) was breaking for a few days a month in one building or the other * The Goodwill collection bin downstairs is great1 read more

I've been a resident at Odin for about a year and a half now. First: The building and theme are beautiful. The combination of Viking Age motifs ("Odin", Oseberg ship frieze, etc) and Ballard-inspired shipping stuff is very cool. Unfortunately, this is where my praise for Odin apartment and the company that owns it, Equity, ends. Let's start with the most important issue: Safety and security (or its absence). Put simply, security at Odin apartments is in a dire state, and someone is going to get hurt or worse due to management inaction and negligence, if they haven't already. Consider this example. Last Saturday afternoon, I happened to walk by my car in the Odin parking garage. I noticed that one of my windows had been smashed in, and items from my hidden earthquake emergency kit were strewn all over. As I took stock of this, a couple walked by and noticed that their car had been burglarized as well. Soon, an Odin maintenance worker also walked by and casually informed us that he had noticed our car windows had been smashed since at least that morning, and that maintenance had contacted management about it. No one at Odin had bothered to make an attempt to contact me or the other couple about this. Meanwhile, any other wandering thieves could pluck out what they wanted of what remained. When we confronted the sole representative in the building, we learned that building management had failed to keep our information on file and simply decided not to bother with a mass email inquiring about car ownership. Upon demanding to speak to building management, management refused to speak to us until Monday. We waited for hours in the office for answers until the office closed and the representative left. Parking in the dark, tight, and poorly surveilled Odin garage costs me the absurd sum of about $200 a month. As I learned from other residents (Odin refused to provide me data or give me a straight answer), break-ins and prowlers are frequent there. Parking on the street would be safer and far cheaper, if there was space. Thieves clearly know the building is an easy target and take full advantage of it. Burglars either simply tailgate in or get in through the building and then open the garage. There are very few cameras, no dedicated security desk, and it's so dark that you'd see nothing in the footage anyway. There's apparently a bare-bones patrol that comes around for a few hours a night, which Equity refers to as a "courtesy" (seriously). As far as I can see, there's not a single sign informing thieves of cameras or that trespassers will be prosecuted or anything else along those lines, and none of the temporary measures the building has announced in response will deter anyone. Clearly that parking money isn't being reinvested into security. Equity's website very visibly advertises the company's "Commitment to Health and Safety" every time we go to pay our rent, and the Equity resident portal is aflame with resident complaints about constant car break-ins, storage room burglaries, and how they wish they hadn't signed a lease in the first place. This isn't the first theft I've experienced. In the past, I had two well-secured bicycles stolen here, and recently thieves stole bike racks directly from the wall. Compared to similar buildings, residents get very little for the astronomical prices they pay here. With the pandemic, Ballard's independent businesses are suffering and the neighborhood is a shell of its former self. It's nowhere near as attractive to live in the middle of Ballard as it was before the pandemic. With community spaces in the building closed, residents are also paying more for less. Odin's parking garage is a hot spot for crime, which puts residents and staff members at risk, and Odin seems content to continue avoiding taking basic security steps that would include fundamentals like increased camera coverage and a full-time security guard. If someone hasn't already been hurt down there (Odin management communication has been abysmal), it's only a matter of time before someone is. Employee turn over is remarkable. Over the year and a half I've lived here, I've seen at least three community managers come and go, and recognize none of the other office staff. There's clearly a big problem with communication, security, and staffing here, and given the mix of indifference and hostility myself and other residents have received to date in response to our concerns. I don't expect anything to change anytime soon. I'd love to simply leave the building and go somewhere else, but to leave I'd have to pay Equity several thousand dollars or lure some other poor soul into this situation. That's not happening. Other options include transferring to another Equity property (nope) or waiting for them to rent it out (yeah, also not happening). If you're looking for a place to live, I wish you the best of luck on your search, and if you live here, you should probably check on your car. read more

We lived here for three years, a bit longer than we have at any other apartment. We loved it in the beginning- the first 2.5 years. It definitely has had flaws the entire time though, such as the inconvenience of the parking garage (the spaces are TIGHT even for my compact vehicle- lots of cars have dings and scrapes and a lot of cars park terribly like they can't be bothered to readjust in the lines. Not only that but people zoom around the corners without double checking to see if people are coming the other way. The garage isn't even really secure and there have been several break ins in the past year, though I suppose it's better than parking on the street. They know you're stuck paying whatever they want (almost $200/month per car) for parking and it's pretty scummy in my opinion, but that's a city for you I guess? We had three different managers/leasing consultant turnovers. It's weird, they seem to all quit in groups and an entirely new staff comes in. Jackie was the leasing consultant who helped me move in and she was great along with Misha (I believe) and Stephanie was the manager. They were all lovely. Next came Eldridge the manager, and Tessa and Jennifer were the leasing consultants. I loved them too, super funny and personable. With both of these sets of staff there were a lot of fun events and it really felt like a community and I'd visit with them when I went to pick up a package, etc. Sadly in the last 6-9 months of us renting, they all left and there was new staff/management. The new staff were nice enough but they felt so much more distant and less personable to current tenants- I honestly didn't even know who the heck worked there anymore. It seemed like the main focus was new tenants. I had to keep reintroducing myself to them and there were barely any fun community events (pre-COVID, to be clear). After the apartment's office/mail room/parking garage was broken into right before Christmas 2019 (and all of their computers were stolen and packages were picked through) they decided to force everyone to use Fetch and have us pay extra for a service I used twice in three months because they couldn't be bothered. When we had to negotiate our lease they upped it (base rent & parking) to over 4x what they had the previous year- almost 10%. Equity Residential would not budge on rent negotiations and we were very reasonable based on past percentages. We left because we were disturbed that our three years of zero complaints towards us/good relationships with staff and neighbors, one late payment (by like thirty minutes, my fault completely) counted for nothing. Apparently this huge company will really suffer if they don't get an extra $200 a month from us for our glorified studio apartment (open one bedroom). I mean- they have Bose speakers in the parking garages for goodness sake playing unnecessary music for people waiting for the flipping elevator. (Also I checked their current prices and it looks like they would've benefited from working with us for another year's lease.) They said they'd miss us and I almost laughed in their face- I don't know you and you really don't care so let's not pretend. Here's what REALLY sent me over the edge and made me move my review down to a one star from a three star rating (for context purposes this all occurred in late February/early March)- three weeks after they told us they would not negotiate we signed a lease for a new apartment. The NEXT DAY Odin emailed us saying that because of COVID-19 they would let us renew our lease with no increase whatsoever- this was one week before our lease was up. Are you kidding me? Three weeks ago you wouldn't budge. Now you're being just SO kind and caring? Oh, why is that? Is it possibly because no one wants to move into an expensive shoebox while there's a pandemic ramping up? What an absolute joke, I will never rent from Equity again and I will warn others of them. Seriously repulsive and embarrassing. And don't give me that "unprecedented times" crap. The greed is real with this company. Also the walls are thin- you can hear your neighbors if they're being even somewhat loud, listening to music, and doing ~other~ fun activities. I've also witnessed people engaging in said activities in the afternoon right next to their giant open windows facing the courtyard (that echoes like crazy if a group of people so much as breathes). Needless to say we're happy we moved out. Ending on a positive note- the maintenance staff is amazing, kind, and efficient. Can't believe I am now just getting to writing a review, but The Odin certainly deserves one, as I know how increasingly tough it is to find apartment complexes that truly offer what they advertise. I lived in the Odin Apartments for 1.5 years, and there are many things I love about this place. It is in a modern, fun part of Ballard (close to tons of restaurants, bars, and bus stops), has great amenities (amazing rooftop), and is very dog friendly. First and foremost, props go out to the small yet mighty maintenance staff, who work tirelessly to keep the building in great shape. The team (Betre, Larry, etc) were all attentive, friendly and quick to respond to any apartment maintenance issue, and I often saw them go above and beyond their scope. When I moved out, it was hard to say goodbye to them. When I first moved in, I let the leasing staff know that I was serious about finding a very clean, non-smoking building (not just one that said it was non-smoking, but didn't maintain policy). I appreciated that Stephanie, the building manager at the time, had an iron fist about the building policies and really cared for community events (dog friendly ones, of course). It's pretty rare to find a building manager so passionate about building community, and it's really made my time at Odin memorable. The downside to any apartment complex are inconsiderate neighbors, and that can't be helped except for better home training, I suppose. Many times, I've seen residents use the gym and not wipe down machines (gross), not pick up their dog's excrements (also gross), park their car in multiple spots (why?), and not pick up after themselves after using community spaces (sigh, more work for maintenance staff). I wish there were better repercussions for this, but unfortunately, that's just part of living in a building with others who can't have anything nice. Many of Seattle's newer apartments are expensive, but not all of them are worth it. Odin is worth the price and quality. When I moved out, the whole team was helpful in ensuring that I had all the paperwork I needed. It was sad to leave, but I am glad to have been able to call this place home. read more

I generally don't write reviews but this place deserves one. Been living here for 6 months and here are my thoughts. Pros: Thick walls Quiet neighbors Big windows Great management & maintenance team Restaurants and bars within walking distance Clean and well-maintained building Buses to UW and downtown within 5 minutes walking distance Nice rooftop lounge The only downside that I can think of is that there's a fire station nearby (like 3 blocks) but personally it's not that of a big deal to me. Also the management and maintenance folks here are very friendly and attentive. If you have a problem regarding your room or the apartment complex in general, they will do their best to find a solution for you as soon as possible. As long as you treat them the way you want to be treated, you will have no problem with them. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place read more

Living at Odin was the best experience I have ever had living in an apartment complex. The buildings are kept up so nicely, the rooftop has a gorgeous view and a great vibe, and the staff is wonderful! Tara was my leasing agent and she was a dream to work with, she responded quickly to all my emails, was always so kind, and even went out of her way to help me extend my lease by a few months. She's the absolute BEST! The location of the complex is also fantastic with an easy walk to many great restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and cute stores- always somewhere to go in Ballard. I rented at Odin during 2018. Its in a great location to experience Ballard with convenient access to downtown. Pros: Clean, well maintained, quiet neighbors, friendly management. Awesome location (restaurants, bars, Sunday market, several buses to downtown). Well equipped fitness room (much better than average). Regular social events. Cons: Occasional noise from emergency vehicles and nearby FoE bar on Thursday nights. read more

Whatever you do, don't choose an apartment facing the courtyard. Every week for hours extremely loud noise from the cleaning crew. You'll hear it loudly even on the top floor. You'll also hear people play ping pong, conversations, music, people on the roof and there's nothing the community people can do. The way the courtyard is designed all sound is amplified and yet the community managers encourage it by having the ping pong table out and encouraging people to go on the roof even in times of covid read more

Moved out due to lack of cleanliness and the building constantly smelling like literal garbage. There is no ventilation in the shared spaces nor filters in the garbage and compost areas so the whole building reeks. In the two years we lived there we could count the number of times they vacuumed the hallway carpets on one hand, and not once did they ever steam clean the carpets. While all apartment management companies place value on making shareholders more money, Odin went out of their way to cut corners. After having spent 5 hours cleaning the apartment for move-out, they still charged us $125 because the inside of the oven was "dirty". In addition to all of these issues, they force tenants to pay $17 per month to have their packages delivered by Fetch, which is not only environmentally irresponsible (considering Fetch drivers go back and forth between Odin and South Seattle 4 times per day), but packages delivered by them would mysteriously have the contents taken from them. Lastly, the system to allow guests into the building was CONSTANTLY broken (ButterflyMX) and generally took weeks to fix. Would not recommend this place even to my worst enemy! It's been living here for almost a month and it's been awesome! Everyone at the leasing office is so nice! I worked with Erin through out my entire process. She's super genuine and honest. She didn't try to hide anything, I asked her about the noise level because the rooms we were looking at faced the jazz club. She said during the summer time it could get a little loud because they open the doors. I really appreciate her honesty, most places I toured and asked about the noise level, they casually brushed it off and said it's not a big deal. It didn't feel genuine with their response. I could tell Erin was sincere. The apartment itself is really nice and modern. I live in a 1b 1b 649sq ft. with a walk in closet. My place has more than enough room for two people. The bedroom may look small when it's empty, but I can fit a full size bed with two nightstands and one dresser though I can fit two dressers, I put the other one in my closet. The washer dryer closet also has a ton of space for extra storage. The living room is very open, I put a queen size sofa bed, dining table, and an office desk. I'm also a minimalist so maybe that's why my place feels super spacious! There aren't too many amenities but they have a gym(decent size and super clean) and a rooftop with a lounge you can rent. I personally wish they didn't charge us to rent the lounge because a lot of the apartments around this area don't charge you to rent out the lounge. I haven't experienced too much of the rooftop since it's the fall season, but I do plan to use it more when the weather gets warmer. Parking here is a little expensive compared to other places. I haven't had any issues finding parking. Majority of the spots are compact, but I've seen two Tacoma trucks parked right next each other.. so it's based on your preference. I haven't had any theft issues in the parking garage either. I feel like everyone here is respectful and nice. Did I mention is a smoke-free apartment AND it's dog friendly?! There a lot of tenants who have dogs and they're all super cute! Rachelle, the manager sent me an follow up email asking about how my experience was and making sure everything is ok. I forgot to submit a service ticket so I told her one of my outlet wasn't working and she immediately called me asking if she could send someone up here to check it out. This level of customer service is what I look for when living in an apartment. Everyone working here wants to make sure their tenants are ok. I really appreciate them a lot and I'm really happy to be here. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to live in Ballard! This area isn't as loud as I thought it was going to be since I'm one block away from Market street. There are street noises but it's pretty average especially living so close to a popular road. You will hear the fire trucks when they leave but it's not that bad. This is a prime location because it's close to the bus stops, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and boutiques. The grocery store is also about a 5-6 min walk to Safeway. QFC is a little farther out about a 10 min walk depending how fast you walk. read more

I am a current resident and would not recommend living here. First, this property does not allow for package delivery and requires a 3rd party service to be used - they charge all residents different amounts for this service and the service frequently loses packages (they have lost hundreds of dollars of packages for me personally). 2nd, a person walked into my apartment unannounced with out or without notice and when I let the front office know that this happened they did not get back to me until I followed up again. This is very scary as a young woman living alone. read more

The customer service at Odin is AMAZING. During our apartment search together, my boyfriend and I toured 20+ places all over Seattle and Odin had the best communication and customer service hands down. Jacki was super responsive and sent us transparent pricing estimates while we were still in San Diego. LOCATION: Absolutely phenomenal. Seconds away from major bus lines and great cafes/pubs/restaurants, but also one half-block removed the traffic noise of Market Street. You're smack dab in the heart of Ballard, but with your shades drawn it sounds like you could be wearing earmuffs in a soundproofed studio in a valley in, I don't know, Lichtenstein? If you gave me a drag-and-drop wand for real life, I wouldn't move the Odin one inch in any direction. FACILITY: Space economy in this place is astounding. The units are small by most standards, but well-designed and deceptively spacious. Everything is clean, new, modern, and yet home-y. Public areas are all amazing: gym, rooftop, lounge, lobby, etc. Walls are solid and almost no sound leaks between apartments, even from W/D units. The *only* drawbacks are the somewhat limited ventilation with only one half-window in certain units and the slightly tight --but always available-- parking. STAFF: Angels. 'Nuff said. Read the reviews and believe them. RESIDENTS: I haven't met many (/any) of my neighbors yet, but there's a good span of ages and lifestyles. It's not just yuppies, nor is it just the well-established. Too many non-Washington natives for my finicky liking, but I'm admittedly a little atypically crotchety about that. Also, DOGS. read more

I've been doing a lot of research on where to live and Ballard was recommended. Odin was my first choice mostly because it is a smoke free building. I love that! But I'm giving it 4 stars because the apartments are definitely not made for someone below 5'4" and while the management tries to be on top of their game, but the only one I can count on to follow through and do what they SAY they're going to do is Megan. I understand that they're busy but hey, so am I. We all have lives and things to do. Please follow through on your word because what else is going to fall through the cracks? Anyway, like I was saying the cabinets are crazy high in the kitchen! They are not joking when they say they have high ceilings. I'm aware that I'm vertically challenged (5'0") but I can't even use the peephole without a step stool. :/ read more

My husband and I have lived at Odin for just over 6 months now and we are both very happy here. The building is brand new and while it did have a few kinks to work out in the beginning I have to say the staff here goes above and beyond to communicate with all the residents about any issues that arise and what is being done to rectify them. That to me, is the most important thing. The apartments are very nice, sleek and modern. They have high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows which allow for maximum light. The kitchens sport quartz counter tops and stainless appliances. The maintenance crew is very prompt in addressing any problems that need to be fixed. I had an issue with my refrigerator door and it was repaired the very next day. The building has some very nice amenities, including a gym, a beautiful rooftop deck with fire pits and bbq's as well as an indoor sky lounge and a dog wash (which I use often!). Located in Ballard, Odin is steps away from so much fun stuff. Great restaurants, bars, shops, weekend farmer's market, coffee shops, movie theater, etc. The location could not be better. Noise from the street so far is minimal. Our apartment faces the hospital next door and I very rarely, if ever, hear any sirens. Occasionally I hear a firetruck going down Market street but in comparison to San Diego where the firetrucks would obnoxiously BLAST their horns and sirens at max volume, the firetrucks here actually seem polite. It's not an issue for me at all. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They put together fun happy hour events for the residents every few months which is a great way to mingle with your neighbors and meet new people. I do agree with what others have said about the parking. The spaces are tight and some of them are tough to get in and out of. I wish they were a little bigger. But with that being said, I imagine that this may be the norm for parking garages in any Seattle apartment building. All in all, I give Odin five stars and two thumbs up! :) read more

Had an amazing experience with Odin apartments. Modern finishes, great amenities, and wonderful staff. Would highly recommend! The apartments are spacious with great light. The amenities and corridors are well kept at all times and the service team is quick to complete all work orders. Absolutely do not stay here! Their rent seems reasonable, but they do not care about residents' safety or way of living. Before we even moved in, the place got broken into REALLY badly. Then that continued for the entire year that we lived here. We would come home and boxes would be strewn about in the hallway where people would just walk into the building and steal packages. Cars would get broken into and they wouldn't even let people know. They would say they were boosting safety measures, but they didn't even do it for over two months, meanwhile packages were still getting stolen. Security guards were hired but didn't make a difference. Garbage chute was broken and not fixed for almost 3 months, maintenance would leave the door unlocked after they left, when we weren't home. And worst of all is that they really don't care if you complain. They just tell you that they're looking at it, and they're going to take care of it. But really everything gets ignored until you make a formal complaint that makes them look bad. I wouldn't recommend living here in any sort of way. Not even on people I don't like. Definitely don't get the parking space either. Though if you park on the street, you are alost guaranteed to have your car broken into. It's just a bad idea all around to stay. here. You would really do a LOT better anywhere else. If you don't believe me for any of this, they have an equity residential app that you can download. All the residents talk about it on there. I think this is hands down the best place to live in Ballard. The location is perfect. It's close, as in walking distance, from multiple grocery stores, drug stores, gas stations, doctors offices, banks, the DMV, and a Swedish Hospital. Some of the best restaurants in Seattle are also a 5-10 minute walk away. The building itself is also very clean, modern, spacious, and comfortable. The staff is the best. Always friendly, and always responsive to your needs, always bringing the community together with different events and socials. The apartments also have great layouts and amenities. This place also has a gym and an indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge area. We had our wedding reception up there and it proved to be the perfect venue. read more

We've lived at Odin for a year now and just resigned our lease without hesitation. The location cannot be beat; Ballard is a thriving neighborhood and everything you could ever really need is steps away. The view from the rooftop common area is SOLID. It's been stated before, but the staff is incredibly welcoming and really take the time to get to know you. Packages get locked in the leasing office which is only open from 10-6 on weekdays which is fine at first. But after you're missed a couple packages which you know are on the other side of a locked door it gets old. The rooftop shared space is always loud past quiet hours during the summer even though the office sends many emails about the issue. Parking is bad. The spaces are really tight even for normal size cars (think tight for a Honda Civic). Also there's no open bike spaces so have fun with that. On the surface it might look like a nice, almost luxury building but it's really just a regular building at a premium price. read more

I can say that the customer service at the Odin is superior to the rest! Starting from the top , the community manager, Stephanie, is one the most genuine, caring, friendly professionals I have ever worked with. She cares about her guests in a way that I haven't seen before. Mischa, who has assisted us in setting up moves, is extremely friendly, professional and a pleasure to work with! Overall , they make you feel wanted and as if you are part of their team! Attending the local OAC gym, I saw the Odin project start from ground-up. There was quite the hype about this building! Ballard is known for its Norwegian heritage so I found it meaningful that they would use a powerful, mythological Norse figure as a name for the building! They are super helpful and want to create a true community for the residents. I couldn't rave more about Odin. I originally signed a lease on a studio back in September 2015, shortly after the building opened. I toured the building while it was still under construction and was wowed by the community and it's amenities - including a stunning rooftop lounge and a gorgeous private courtyard. When my lease was up, I decided to leave Odin due to an opportunity to live rent-free at a local property owned by family members. When I needed another apartment, my first call was Odin. The leasing office jumped to help me find a new lease and made the process of coming back so fast and easy. I am now happily back in the community in a one-bedroom unit and there's nowhere I'd rather be living. The apartments themselves are beautiful and spacious, with high ceilings and high-end finishes. Everything feels very open, clean and modern. I love the look and feel of the entire community. Everything is beautifully decorated and there are plenty of amazing common spaces for residents to use. It's hard to beat Odin's location. In the heart of Ballard, everything you need is within walking distance, including tons of fabulous restaurants and bars. Yet while you're in the middle of a bustling neighborhood, the courtyard between Odin's two tours creates a sort of enclosed little oasis where you can sit in the sun or relax by a fire pit. You can also enjoy the crazy views from the rooftop lounge, which also has a fire pit, as well as a grilling area. But what truly makes Odin stand out are the people. The entire staff at Odin is phenomenal. They are so welcoming, friendly and helpful and everyone that I've interacted with seems to truly want to do whatever they can to make the community the best it can be. Maintenance requests are fulfilled in a timely and professional manner. The cleaning staff works hard to keep the entire community sparkling at all times and the leasing office staff goes above and beyond with hosting resident events and working to foster a sense of community. I love stopping by the leasing office and chatting with everyone there. There's something about seeing people who greet you by name and are happy to see you - it makes the community truly feel like home. I am so happy to be back! read more
