My husband and I lived here from October/2022-2023. I will say that they totally maintain the cleanliness of the apartments & always have activities every month. I've had only 2 issues in my apartment that maintenance was quick to take care of. Would I live there again? I would. However, the 2 stars are for the management. Every interaction with them (apart from when I signed on & maybe one other time) that I've had wasn't always a pleasant one. Few months after I moved in, I got permission to park my E-bike in the garage with a lock. However, it got stolen. Asked if they can thoroughly check the camera footage to which they did review but in the end, they advised that I file a police report & that only the police can check the footage. Fair. But of course, months gone by & police never came (expected). I once again reached out to the front office pleading if they were totally certain that there's no footage of who stole my e-bike (last present my dad ever gave me before passing, btw). After pleading with them, I got a response along the lines of , "If the bike was that important to you, then why would you park it there?" Another time was when I took my dog to the roof to potty. He accidentally escaped through the fenced door as I opening it & totally ran down the flight of stairs out of confusion. I came after him but unfortunately, another neighbor who was coming up the steps with his dog (who is dog reactive) has to rush himself down to avoid my dog. He then reached out to management under the notion that I was just letting my dog run around. Management reached out to me & I then gave them a thorough explanation of what actually happened. Instead of brushing it off as, "Oh, accidents happen", they still put blame on me as if I did it all on purpose. Totally ignoring my explanation of an accident. The last issue I faced with them was when we were moving out. They hired a new person at the time who was actually super nice. Unfortunately, she gave me an inaccurate info. To be fair, I should I have thoroughly read the instructions on moving out. But to keep it short, I addressed this with this person & thought we found a solution. I pretty much moved out at a certain time thinking I could avoid unnecessary charges. That wasn't the case at all & I couldn't prove what was told to me because it was all verbal. So in the end, I had to pay 2k+ for an apartment I was no longer staying in all because of false info. They might respond to this with their own explanations & whatever but we went back & forth with this last issue for weeks and weeks. I couldn't even find a solution with the higher ups because of course they'll back up their workers. So with that said, DEFINITELY HAVE EVERYTHING IN WRITING. Other than that, I will also say the maintenance crew were ALWAYS nice. Always greeted us with smiles & hellos. We became familiar with them. The others in management don't really greet you at all, just glare until you talk to them. Didn't really feel inviting. I think only Jada was nice but even then, doesn't have that warm welcoming spirit that other apartment offices have. Still a great place to live as long as you have everything down in writing! Because again, they do maintain this place! Hard to find that in Seattle. read more

I lived at Aura West Seattle for 15 months and I loved my experience. Laura and her team always greeted me and my dog, Gnocchi, with a warm smile everyday and cuddles for the pup. Gnocchi even won "Pet of the Month" when they held a monthly contest for residents to vote. He was a popular boy making his rounds, shaking hands and kissing babies. I loved the layout of my apartment. For the price, I'd say it was beyond reasonable. It would get very hot during the summer time and cracking open the window didn't do much without a cross breeze. Maintenance always answered my requests within hours and they were there to fix/help sometimes the same day. The location is great and there are many walkable places in the area. Even with the occasional drifter screaming obscenities, they typically keep to themselves. They do hold track meets across the street during the spring and the blanks were loud enough to scare my dog, so we'd bop on over to the beach to get away from the noise. The rooftop was my favorite place as it has a great view of everything. There are some residents that aren't considerate and won't pick up after their pet at the dog relief area which I know the staff had tried notifying every registered pet owner to do so. All in all, I miss living in this apartment and would gladly return if my life so happens to lead me back to Seattle one day. read more

Management here was always top notch, as were the amenities and general spaces, especially for the price. I have lived in another building (in Cap Hill) since leaving Aura and it made me realize how great Aura was while I was there (2018 - 2021). Shoutout in particular to Laura and Danny -- you made life at Aura so easy, and any building is lucky to have either one of you!!! It really felt like home here. :) Communication was transparent, reliable, and they got ahead of any issues or maintenance happening in the building. The building felt secure with cameras put up around a lot of the entrances, I never faced any massive or unreasonable rent hikes, packages were handled well, staff in the front office were always friendly and responsive, the maintenance team was kind and quick, and public spaces were kept clean (any messes [i.e. dog pee, trash, spills] were taken care of swiftly, and things that will happen anywhere at any building so not really a ding against the buildings/staff themselves). I've never lived in another building beyond my lease term (usually a year), but went through 3 leases/renewals at Aura and there's a reason why! If the West Seattle Bridge hadn't taken it's sweet time getting fixed, I would have stayed at Aura longer because it's so easy to get downtown/up North and down South to Tacoma/Sea-Tac/etc from Aura's location due to its proximity to the Bridge. It's walking distance to California Ave and a super short drive to beautiful Alki Beach and a hop down to Lincoln Park. I really don't have enough good things to say about Aura. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. I no longer live in Seattle (made the move to sunnier places), but my time in West Seattle at Aura is something I look back on fondly! read more

I have lived in Washington for almost three years. During that time, I have lived in three different apartment buildings. I can honestly say that Aura West offers the best overall living experience I have had yet. Let's be blunt. Anytime you get over 100 people in a shared living space, you are bound to have a bad apple or two. However, Erin and her staff listens to any comment I have and offers tangible solutions. The location is walking distance from the allure of the Junction area features. Additionally, from the garage, in about three turns, you are driving on the West Seattle Bridge. Which when isn't backed up, is a viable route to I-5 North or South. No place is perfect. However, I think the rent is competitive with the other area buildings, has several intangible features, and is close to almost everything one needs. As a result, I would encourage looking here if you are thinking of living in West Seattle. ***UPDATE*** Due to reviving a job outside of Washington, I recently left the building. I can honestly say that living there for three years was the highlight of my Washington experience. Laura is AMAZING. When I began my move-out process. She helped me from start-to-finish. I felt moved to write a quick review of Aura West Seattle + the team as we're transitioning into the holiday season. I won't say too much about the facilities because you can easily find them online. The rooftop, parking garage, gym, 24/7 lobby--everything is brand new and well-maintained. This is the second Greystar community I've lived in, so I came in with set expectations of what I could expect, and what I'd have to live with. Let me say this, the management team at Aura has blown me away (and puts my last apartment to shame)! Danny, Laura, and Summer are warm, friendly, and positive EVERY SINGLE DAY. They say hello and good morning. They host theme parties for residents. They leave out various snacks and treats (there's currently a cookie decorating and gift wrapping station in the lobby). They all three work to rescue our WSJ outside every morning. More importantly, they leave public updates when a car has been broken into, or if a stranger is routinely trying to enter the building (at my previous Greystar community, they would keep this news under wraps to not spook the residents). Our apartment is stunning and we couldn't be happier with the facilities, but the management team all truly makes this place feel like home. read more

I've lived at Aura for about 2 months now and I am LOVING it. Hands down, this is the nicest place I've ever lived. When we came to view these apartments, I asked to see like 5 different floorplans. They were all nice, but something was not quite right about all of them. Cody was so patient, kept smiling even though I was definitely being annoying/picky, and then he remembered that a unit had been unavailable for a while because the door was broken. He grabbed the key, to the top floor we went, and... This. Was. It. I believe the universe broke that door and saved this apartment for us because it is everything we wanted! Top floor, high cielings, sweeping eastern views, and so much closet space, I actually can't fill them up with what we own. It's not perfect- noise from the hallway is very loud and the bus stop in front of the building vibrates the apartment. This drove me crazy when we first moved in and I was annoyed that it wasn't mentioned by the leasing agent, but I am getting used to it. But hey, no place is perfect and it's a small price to pay for such a beautiful view! Pros: If you take the bus, there's a Rapid Ride stop literally in front of the building, so it couldn't be easier! My husband was able to completely stop driving to work because the bus is so easy. If you have a dog, this is a really dog-friendly building and there's a fake grass patch on the roof for taking puppy out. Super convenient! If you like nice things, there's a roof with an epic view, planter boxes for gardening, and grills. Also a cute lounge in the main lobby. Parking garage seems safe and secure. I've only had positive interactions with the staff and think this is such a great place to live. Highly recommend!! read more

Let me first be clear. I'm someone who reads, but don't write reviews (and certainly not detailed ones), but my experience here merits one; and hopefully give possible future tenants more insight. I moved to WA about 2.5 years ago, and have been at Aura West ever since. Thanks to the WS bridge...I've decided to move closer to town. This isn't a flawless place by any means, but I'll try my best to breakdown the good and the bad. I'll start with: The bad: Noise Depending on which way you face, you're bound to get some noise. Facing 35th will give you some street/car noise, while facing the lumber yard like I do will have some noise from the shop and/or trash pickup. I do remember it being pretty loud a couple mornings a week when I first moved in, but I haven't noticed or it has not bothered me after a couple weeks of getting used to it. The other noise is that the floorboards aren't exactly soundproof so it depends on who lives above you. The first two years my neighbor above was very considerate and I could hardly hear a foot step, but it must be a new neighbor now as I can hear steps and what sounds like a big dog running and playing, as well as what sounds like the occasional dumbbell that's not being carefully put down. But like anything else, I got used to it and it doesn't bother me much as its not intentional. I can't imagine things are different at any other complexes in Seattle. The good: Location, period. (Well, at least prior to bridge going down.) This is literally walking distance to everything. The Junction is 10 minutes away, TJ's is 5 (literally walk there for groceries 2x a week), buses to/from DT right in front of the building, and tons of street parking 2 blocks from building. There's also a Sbux and 7-11 right around the corner if you need anything last minute. Then theres the rooftop which is is large and gorgeous. 2 grills I used to use often especially in the summer nights with friends. A nice planter area as well as a dog walk. Great place to bring friends for a gathering and nice view of the city and even Mount Rainier on a clear day. The community gym is great, definitely larger and more equipped than your average apartment gym. Towels and wipes were always stocked, and overall gym kept in great condition. Unfortunately it is temporarily closed due to covid. The great: I'm in process of moving out now, and lets just say I will miss the competent staff at Aura the most as my new apartment I'm moving to has been less than efficient to say the least. I moved in when the team consists of Danny (mgr), Laura (asst mgr), and Summer (agent?). Danny and Laura are still here and I think that says a lot about their work. I know by apartment hunting (reviews, lol), and friends' experiences that the staff are always turning over in Seattle. Danny and Laura always greet you by name which is nice, but more importantly they just get things done. They respond to emails promptly, the areas are always kept clean, they communicate regularly of any events or issues and are always able to help. Maintenance has been great the couple times I needed small things fixed too. All in all, I think Aura is a great place to live if you are thinking of West Seattle. Noise comes with pretty much all apartments in the city, but where Aura stands apart is the location and the staff. You can rest assure that you will be taken care of at Aura West. read more

I have been nothing but satisfied with living here. I intentionally waited a few months in to make sure I can leave an accurate review. -The building and facilities are nice, and as described. Specifically, the fitness center and rooftop are part of what sold me to this complex. Sure... Improvements to these amenities can be made, but they are picky. -Particularly, the staff help make this community a comfortable place to live. Dan, the maintenance supervisor, always has a smile on his face and has usually worked up a sweat by 8 AM. Erik, especially, is exceptional, and is not only attentive and caring, but very approachable and receptive to inquiries and suggestions. He is more like a resort bellhop, focused on making his residents' stay as comfortable and easy as possible. -The location is perfect, with easy access on/off the West Seattle Bridge. The noise is problematic in the mornings, but that's more due to my unit's location (my bedroom faces 35th Ave) and work schedule than anything. -Having My Parcel Pending available is very nice for package delivery. It isn't a perfect system, but that is usually due to the delivery services, rather than Aura. I appreciate that they at least provide this option. read more

Overall I am very dissatisfied with my experience living at Aura West Seattle. It's only been 5 weeks and almost every day of that I have regretted the decision to move here. I am already looking forward to my lease being up so I can move out and I would never recommend to someone else to live here. The main reason is that I can't sleep due to the extreme heat and noise level of this place, but feel free to read on for more details. Temperature: By far my biggest complaint. These apartments were designed extremely poorly for air flow and keeping it cool inside. I am in a west facing apartment so on sunny days in the summer I get sun for like 12+ hours, resulting in a sweltering temperature inside, I'm talking high 80's of super stuffy air INSIDE MY APARTMENT. There is only ONE window that opens any decent amount which is not very helpful. The front office so kindly suggested we all buy our own portable AC which I find really unfair. As a renter, I don't believe I should have to buy a major appliance to make my home livable. I also tried to prop my door open to get some air flow that way and received a most unwelcome email from the front office asking me not to do that because it overworks the central AC that IS INSTALLED IN THE HALLWAYS AND COMMON AREAS. I'm so glad your employees get an air conditioned workplace while those living here just have to suffer. I'm interested to see how the temperature feels in the winter as Seattle is generally a very cool/cold place. I suspect it will be more manageable, but that it won't solve for the stuffiness because there is ZERO AIR FLOW. Whoever built this building clearly didn't think it through. I get that almost no apartments in Seattle have central AC but come on.... At least give us windows that open and/or ceiling fans! Noise: This building is literally 10 feet away from a lumber yard that works all hours of the day and night and weekends. Due to the aforementioned heat stroke they're trying to give me I have to sleep with my windows open (well, as open as they will go because two of them only crank out about 3 inches). I have been woken up by this lumber yard on more nights than I haven't. It's truly absurd that anyone thought putting a residential building an arm's length away from a lumber yard was a good idea. To be clear, it's not the regular city sounds that bother me, it's the huge industrial workplace that is a stone's throw from my bedroom window that I do not appreciate. Moving In/Out: Moving into this building was an ordeal. There are two entry doors to get inside and they will only let you prop open and keep the very outside door open. They expect you to open the second inside door EVERY SINGLE TIME you enter. It also takes a key fob so the movers can't just push it open while still carrying their load. They have to stop, stabilize the items they're bringing in, use the key fob to get the door unlocked and then open and go through it. I would estimate this easily added 30% extra completely unnecessary time to my move-in, and I am already dreading moving out. They also expected my movers to ask anyone else that happened to be coming into the building if they were a resident, which I find completely inappropriate. My movers are not your doormen. If you need a doorman, hire one! Parking: It's nice to park in a secured underground garage. I would complain about the price but I think it's comparable to other locations in the area so fine. It's really too bad that there isn't a SINGLE guest parking space though. I was told over the phone before I moved in that there is street parking and I think our definitions of street parking are different. This complex is on the corner of a major intersection and sure if you can walk a mile back you can probably find parking SOMEWHERE in West Seattle. But this is not an ideal place at all to have guests that need to drive to you. Perhaps that was on purpose? Location: The location is great (I mean, except practically sharing a wall with a LUMBER YARD) as it's right on a major bus line to downtown. My work commute is easy peasy. I can also walk to many restaurants, stores and the farmer's market which is really nice. The Apartment Itself: Is nice. The kitchen could use a few more cabinets and the layout wastes some space in the entryway, but overall it's a decent floor plan and has a ton of storage space. I have a 1 bed + 1 den but I have 2 full bathrooms, so I feel the second bathroom is a waste of space that should have been given to living space, but it's chill. read more

I have lived at Aura for 5 months now and I absolutely love West Seattle. The apartments are very nice, clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. My move in experience was great with the leasing staff reserving the elevator for me on my move in date to help with the ease of moving in and having everything prepared for my arrival when I got here. Erin, Cody, Kendra, Don, and Manny are always smiling and happy to help with anything I need including helping me with a great place within walking distance to grab some food during my busy move. The prices are reasonable, the rooftop is awesome with a great view and great place to BBQ and my dog has a rooftop view from the pet park! Aura West Seattle is the place to be! read more

I would like to commend Connor Hays Assistant Property Manager at Aura West Seattle on his excellent customer service. Although we did not end up renting at the property, Mr. Hays went far above and beyond to assist me with all of my questions and concerns as I was trying to navigate a move to Seattle from Portland, OR. Mr. Hays went so far as to send photos of the available unit and take measurements of rooms for me so that we would know if our furniture would fit into the bedrooms. Ultimately we discovered that our very large king size bed would not fit into the bedroom and Mr. Hays saved us an indeterminate amount of time by being so helpful and I simply cannot express my gratitude sufficiently. By writing this, I hope that he is recognized for his exceptional service. read more

In the midst of down sizing now that our youngest is off to college and selling our 4000 sq foot home , my wife and I took the day to visit different apts . In west Seattle .... this place was our first visit because we did our research ... as soon as we went in , we greeted the leasing agent in a friendly tone , to our surprise it was not given back ... 1) she asked if we had an appointment ( it's viewing apartments not a damn house ) 2) she was very reluctant to answer any questions 3 ) we asked if we can see a 2 bed 2 bath apt. , her response " now , you want to see them now ? ) 4) she complained that she had to work on a holiday weekend and wasn't happy ( ummmm, it's your damn job , my wife is a LEO ( law enforcement officer ) and has to smile and be courteous to and with the public even when not in the mood ) At this point she went to get the keys , my wife said " no forget it , no thanks go back to your streaming " and we left ... went to a neighboring apt. And spoke with the leasing agent there who wAs more than happy to help us , funny thing is when we filled him in about our prior mishap , he knew exactly who we were talking about ,.. filled us in that she was a temp and he knows the manager personally and will relay our disgust. We crossed this place off the list ,all because of her negative entitled attitude !!!!!!! read more

I had a little bit of a tough time writing this review because there is a lot of good things to say but I don't want to make it sound too great that there is a line out the door to move in. Where to start...The facilities are great. The fact there is a large gym (with towels) in the building is a huge plus. In addition, the lobby is spacious, is routinely stocked with treats of some sort and the décor is modern and tasteful. On each of the floors, there is a garbage chute and recycling cans. The convenience can't be understated. Definitely one of the best features! There is also underground parking available which is a nice rarity in the Seattle area. The building is also right next to a major bus route connecting to downtown Seattle. The top floor deck and BBQs are a nice way to have a get together with a nice view of the city and mountains. One of the best parts of the facility (and I hope it never changes) is the management team. There recently was a change in management and I couldn't be happier. Danny and co. are easily the best property management I have had. Not only do they host events in the lobby on occasion, but they are very responsive to the needs of the resident and have helped us several times when we have had issues. Maintenance is very responsive and does a good job of keeping up with the various needs of the complex. They replaced our washer and dryer in a day without any issues. The apartments themselves are awesome. High ceilings with floor to ceiling windows make the space bright and the layout maximizes the space to its fullest potential. It is great to have a closed off washer and dryer closet and the kitchen is open and easy to utilize. There is a lot of storage in our 1bed+den which makes it easy to keep things organized. Overall, 6/5 stars. read more

This review is regarding the maintenance staff. While I don't have anything bad to say about the rest of the building/leasing agents/etc. the maintenance people don't always get the accolades just for them. So here it is. Very impressive. I've lived here a little over a year and only had a couple times of needing maintenance to handle anything and each time they've been outstanding. Last night at 9:15 I sent a maintenance request for a washing machine that stopped working. I expected it to take a couple days to even get looked at let alone repaired. But the next day, before I had even made it home from work, I had an email that not only had maintenance looked at the problem but they had already realized the entire machine needed replacement and get this..... REPLACED IT. Thank you Aura maintenance for doing an amazing job. PS- there was no sign they had been there other than a new washer and a note. They didn't leave any mess and even stacked all my stuff back on top of the washer/dryer when they were done. Awesome. read more
