Continuing mail theft, including in March 2023. Windows have not been washed in years. The safety mirror for going out of the garage has been stolen multiple times and has not been replaced.

My beautiful loft that I have made a home! Very much industrial New York vibes.

The moment I signed my lease at alceyone Apartments I had nothing but great experiences from there. The moving process was super easy the staff are really friendly and helpful and they always are open to answering any questions that you have or any help that you need. I have been able to make my loft apartment a home and also raise my daughter! The property is in a perfect location right in the heart of South-lake Union there's a very cute park across the street as well. The staff and management of alceyone apartments are always on top of everything and if anything ever happens they are very communicative with everything they make sure that no one is left in the dark. So far I have had a 10 out of 10 experience living here. Thank you Dj and Keta for being such amazing staff, y'all are doing a great job during this pandemic!

TLDR: The management here is definitely far from great. Zero compensation and played dead for the severe water damages that made my unit inhabitable. Here's the timeline: - Day 1: Moved in. - Day 16 (Friday): Water started to pour from my ceiling at 3 a.m. on a workday morning. Tried calling the emergency maintenance and no one showed up. Thanks to SFD they stopped more water from draining and vacuumed most water from my unit. Later Someone with keys finally showed up after SFD called the apartment, which was like two hours after my roommate and I called them. We had almost no sleep trying to save our personal items and dealing with the mess in our unit. Later we called the apartment during business hours and they said they will have technicians putting fans and dehydrators in our unit. After coming back from work, I was surprised to find out the apartment did NOTHING to restore our unit. Ironically, I do see a lot of fans and dehydrators for the lobby and the lounge. I had to sleep in the moist and stinky room cause I was too tired to find another place. - Day 17 (Saturday): Finally found and got to talk to Marie, the manager, in person. She eventually got some fans in our unit and promised to have emails sent out to keep us updated. Also, they will have a technician team to assess whether they need to perform a major construct (which is going to take multiple weeks) for our unit. HOWEVER, they were clear that they offer NO compensation, NO temporary unit change, and also NO concession for rents. If we wanted to change to a similar 2b2b unit permanently, we had to pay an extra $400/month because they just recently raised the market price. If we chose to live in a hotel, we had to argue with the renter's insurance ourselves, which happened to have no one answering the phone during weekends. Either way, we were very disappointed that they acted like it wasn't their responsibility that our lives were seriously affected. Glad we had a friend's place to crash. - Day 18 (Sunday): Office closed. Guess we were on our own. Our carpets were still wet and stink. - Day 19 (Monday): Never received any updates from Marie or the management team unless we ask them first. After emailing Marie she told us the inspection team assessment has no result and will assess again tomorrow. I will update whenever I get an update.

Check that had to be shredded, deposited by the management without any approval way before on Dec 13, 2021

THE BORDERLINE UNETHICAL and CUSTOMER EXPLOITATION PRACTICES. The management is absolutely the worst. I have toured over 20+ properties in person and I can say with absolute confidence that they are the worst so far. Here's more about the bad experience I had with them: - When I toured the apartment and was ready to apply for the lease, they asked me to do this online on their website - While applying online, their system locked me out, I was asked to come to their office and pay for the application fee ($42) and security deposit ($600) with checks - I did not want to lose the deal and went in person on a Sunday, I got a cold response, the Lady working there told me she had a lot of work and might not be able to even deposit the checks to their other office which is like less than 2 minutes walk away - The next I was informed about their income eligibility: they require 3X of the rent as a monthly income. They never even cared to tell me this before or while applying. - The same day their management office gave me an ultimatum to either get someone else on the lease to reach the income criteria or lose any claim to the apartment although I had already applied. - Unless they receive confirmation of sufficient income by 4 pm the same day (literally 4-hour deadline), they will shred the security check I have given them and I lose any claim to the apartment - THE Borderline Unethical and Customer Exploitation: Although I had not given them any confirmation whatsoever, they deposited the check for the security deposit ($600), are you kidding me???? Who gave you the right to do so??? Now I will have to waste more time with their pathetic management to get my money back. Proof: Even though I had not given confirmation within their crazy short 4 hours ultimatum earlier, they kept spamming me. As you can see by Dec 19, i haven't given any confirmation. But they already deposited the check on Dec 13 without my approval!!!!

When I moved out, they claimed several hours of sanding work required for repainting and were evasive about providing evidence that it actually took so long. Every lease renewal saw a giant jump in rates (9.9% one year), which we negotiated back down to sane levels. They use algorithmic pricing designed to worsen the housing crisis while maximizing their profits. They also recently decided to stop offering affordable housing units under the MFTE program. Building was frequently under repair, including elevators being out of service for months, which was incredibly difficult when my partner was recovering from knee surgery. The units, which are now finally undergoing renovation, were poorly lit with low quality fixtures like plastic track lights, vinyl flooring, and a prison shower head. The original office staff were quite unhelpful and antagonistic, prioritizing nagging residents about hallway door decorations (while simultaneously awarding prizes for holiday decorations??). This has improved with almost complete turnover in staffing. Maintenance staff have always been very responsive and helpful. Regarding Capitol Hill itself, the value of the neighborhood has really declined. If you want to pay $4,000/mo to live in walking distance of 15 boba tea shops and national fried chicken chains while ignoring the human misery all around you, go for it I guess.

The amenities are all nice, but it's the other stuff that is more compelling. The retail space on the ground floor has the vet my elderly dog sees, B of A, and a post office. Great hair place across the street and groceries either to the north or south. The property seems to be in the middle of some upgrades to package handling and building access which sounded great. The view from the rooftop is wonderful. Donny was so kind and helpful. I appreciated the conversation to understand my needs, ask thoughtful questions, and explain options available.

Overall, it's been a good experience but there are so many things that make this place not worth the price tag. Pros: Location- Great spot and walkable to so much. Tenants- good people and high probability of making friends. Young professionals, dog lovers Thick walls: I rarely hear my neighbors -- very, very rare. Aesthetics: the apartments themselves look really nice Washer/dryer: in unit and actually good quality. I've had some awful laundry units in apartments but these are legit and work well. Cons: Break ins: I am not exaggerating when I say tenants are constantly getting their bikes stolen, it's a monthly occurrence at least. (Theres bike storage in the garage for tenants ) Storage in the apartment: it's crazy how much planning did not go into the actual apartment. For example: my pantry is a closet that has zero shelves....my bedroom closet didn't have a full hanger rack when I moved in. Little things that make zero sense. Some kitchens barely have a drawer for silverware. Things that you may not notice while doing a walk thru but notice once you move in. No AC or ventilation: this is common in Seattle, I get it but please pay attention to what direction your apartment faces. I face west and live in a loft. Heat rises. It is miserable hot. It can be 70 degrees outside but 78 inside because of the lack of airflow. Even with an AC unit (these help but you better keep all the shades down and keep it running ALLLL day/night - plus depending on your setup, you may have to move furniture around to use an AC unit) The complex has AC units available to rent ... it isn't even that hot yet and it's already hard to get my bedroom (upstairs) under 72 degrees by 9pm. The complex should offer free AC units with how hot these apartments get. When it's nice/window season, you may not want to open your window because of how loud the road is. Even on the 4th floor, if you leave your balcony door/windows open, you will wake up from traffic/buses/people on 24th and 65th. It's not quiet...at all. Amenities: these have gotten better but still not great compared to what you can get at other places. They have done some work on the rooftop but it's still just fine. No gym, TVs aren't great, etc. The building itself needs new carpet/fresh paint on the walls. Look at the stairwells. Yes, I'm being picky but for the price, it should look better. As a whole, these apartments are fine but overpriced for what they are. You are paying for location and a "good looking" apartment. For the price, they should come with AC units, have more amenities, and updates in the actual building. Management and maintenance are good, I haven't had any issues there. This review isn't meant to bash BPL but give future residents a heads up and an honest expectation of what it's like to live here. I wouldn't choose an East (am sun) or West (pm sun) facing loft apartment. Seriously, too hot. I bet south facing is your best bet (less busy road, no direct sun). Lofts are cute but I'd suggest a flat. Hope this helps!

All good things!

Alright, after living here for around 4 months I feel like it's time to write a review. I'm not…read moregetting anything for this review. When I looked it up on Yelp for the first time I was a bit suspicious it had such high ratings but now I know they're justified. BACKGROUND - I am a Seattle transplant. Just graduated and just moved here fresh out of college. I wanted to live somewhere affordable, convenient, nice and still close enough to where all the fun stuff was. I looked at Cap Hill and the prices were outrageous. So the I landed on NAMU from an ad on Craigslist. LOCATION - around 5-10 minute drive from downtown Seattle and downtown Capitol Hill. Close enough for a short bus ride or a cheap Uber pool. If you check on the walk score it's around high 80s and the crime rate for the area is really low. Generally, it's closer to the suburbs. It's quiet at night because of that but occasionally there will be a siren once a week or people yelling once in a blue moon. But generally, really quiet. CONVENIENCE- I live right next to Safeway and can walk there in under 30 seconds which has saved my life many times. There's also a cute plant shop downstairs if you like plants and a Dominos pizza is opening soon, there's a Vietnamese sandwich place near the Safeway as well. The Safeway is open late which is great. There's also a YMCA a block away if you want to workout nearby! APT AMENITIES - in terms of amenities it is solid given how much rent you are paying. There's a bike rack, and a nice rooftop. None of my packages have EVER been stolen from the lobby and I've see packages left there for days so everyone in the building respects that. You can pay extra for storage and the laundry machines are on the 2nd and 3rd floor, which TAKE CARD. Generally they are full on the weekends but I haven't had an issue waiting long times for laundry. There's no pool, or lounge, trash chute or gym. The only things I wish the room had: an oven, a dishwasher (I just do my dishes by hand), and a closet. But I've adjusted. If you need these things to survive, consider that before you move in or if you have a ton of stuff / furniture / clothes because it likely won't fit. NOISE - Honestly, I'm assuming the insulation is top notch because I've heard my neighbors maybe once. ROOMS - The apartment was made in 2015 or something. I moved in 2017 and was the second tenant ever! The rooms are small, around 250-300sqft but I have enough room for a full-size bed, a queen size futon, a wardrobe hanger, and a small dining table and a bookshelf and no issues. It's a perfect studio for a single person and more than enough room to be comfy. Note there isn't a closet though so you'll have to make do with a buy your own closet thing. I really appreciate the mini fridge as it is honestly big enough for one person and since I live by Safeway I never really needed too much space anyway. The bathrooms are clean and modern and there's a big window too which is really nice in the mornings. LANDLADY / MAINTENANCE - This is what prompted me to write this review. The landlady, Sonya, has been nothing but incredible and responsive. She texts back almost immediately and even helped me once when I locked myself out of my room at midnight, and helped me get a package when I accidentally locked it. She's very thoughtful and kind and honestly I never knew how awesome thanks would be to have a great landlady until I met her! She also schedules maintenance once you report a problem to her. The maintenance guy, Mike, lives in the complex and shows up right on time to help fix your issues and is polite and nice. There was an incident where our hot water heater stopped working for around a day and Sonya immediately notified all the residents on the situation and provided suggestions for other solutions. And she even decorated the front door and lobby with a Christmas tree for the holidays!! Tldr - This is a great place to live if you're moving to Seattle as a single person. The rooms are "small" but modern, clean, and more than enough space for a studio. The facilities are brand new, and the landlady is awesome. The rent is affordable and I've I'm very happy living here and feel safe.

Unlike nearby condos, it doesn't really do major advertising - I actually found it while clicking on random buildings on Google Maps! The location is incredible - close to the Space Needle and bars, but just far enough to still enjoy quiet nights. Plus, the prices are VERY competitive compared to other places nearby. Oliver from the front office is incredibly friendly and helpful. I wasn't going to be able to view the available units in person, and he sent me a very well taken, detailed video of the interior. He answered all my questions and really made sure that my moves, both in and out, were extremely smooth. Maintenance was also prompt and always made sure that everything was fixed within 1-2 business days! Now for the apartment itself - it was much larger than any other options nearby, and it was really nice! The unit looked a bit old but clean and functional in the video, but I was wrong... it wasn't old at all! The apartment was MUCH newer, brighter, and more updated than I anticipated - the best kind of surprise. I rarely ever heard my neighbors, always had power, and I especially loved that I had a massive pantry in the kitchen. My balcony faced 4th Ave, which leads directly to the Space Needle. Although I couldn't see the Needle from my windows, I never had to leave my apartment for any parades - they always started at the Seattle Center and went directly on the street below. The amenities it had were really nice - from the clubhouse to the gym. Both were clean, easy to access, and very updated. I especially loved that you didn't need to pay to book the clubhouse for personal events, as it made hosting larger groups for meals a lot easier! I was truly heartbroken to leave Sidney when work relocated me to Texas. It's a wonderful complex, and I highly, HIGHLY recommend!! If I ever move back, you know where I'll be living.
