Much ado about nothing. Seriously, not sure why this place continues to get top ratings, unless this small town hasn't truly experienced a fine dining experience. One salad arrived which appeared to be nothing more than a handful of greens placed in a bowl. "Where's the dressing?" we asked. One of our six diners actually enjoyed their meal. I am only giving 4 stars because it is a bit overpriced for the servings. The halibut was perfect and I could not have been happier, but it was halibut in a sauce. No vegetables, no bread, no salad, nothing else. I ordered the French onion dip and it was delicious but served with a small handful of home made chips. The bar was well stocked and the bartender was super friendly and attentive to everyone. I only wished for more food on my plate for the price!!! read more

Sat at the bar, got a good old fashioned done right, and had a great lunch experience--relaxing, good food, and civilized. Gourmet down home food with an excellent bar. Had a great hamburger with a gourmet cheese and homemade bun. Also started out with deviled eggs. Celeste the owner has done a great job with this place. My wife and I have only eaten here once but stop in from time to time for a cocktail. The atmosphere is very elegant yet you can wear blue jeans and Tshirt and not feel out of place. Amazing food in Florence, Alabama? You betcha! Having eaten in some fabulous restaurants in our home town of Washington, D.C. we were blown away by the lunch we were served today at Odettes'. From the minute you walk in the vibe is upscale, but welcoming. The service is spot on and the food? TO DIE FOR! This menu features locally sourced items, treated with respect, and lovingly prepared by Chef Quick. How about a pureed cauliflower soup with collard green pesto and turmeric crème fraiche to start? Then if you're lucky and there on a Tuesday, the lunch special is buttermilk-brined fried chicken with green tomato chutney. Featuring three amazing pieces of chicken that were epic! Moist, crunchy and not salty. Our local Chef Bryan Voltaggio, could take a lesson or two from Chef Quicks' treatment of chicken. WOW! This lunch special does not end there, diners get to choose two side items.The sides get 5 stars all on their own. How about the stir fried cabbage and braised greens. Sounds a bit dull? Heck NO! Definitely my favorite place in the Shoals for a cocktail or glass of wine with friends. I've only eaten a few things here but they were all delicious and I have never been disappointed by any of the food, especially the burger! But we typically come here for drinks since it is one of the few places in town where the music isn't so loud that you can't hear your friends speak. All of the bartenders are friendly and love to talk the art of booze with you. The atmosphere can come off a little pretentious but don't let that keep you from asking questions. Once you do, you'll find that the staff is friendly and inviting. read more

We had lunch on a Saturday and everything was so delicious! Four of us shared the pimento cheese deviled eggs, chicken tenders, a curry flatbread brunch special, apple pumpkin soup, fall vegetable salad and a shaved beef sandwich. One of my favorite dining experiences anywhere. The food is always top notch and the cocktails are superb. If you enjoy classic bourbon drinks this is the place for you. They probably have the largest selection of bourbons of any restaurant between Atlanta and Nashville. Some pours go for as high as $250 for the A. H.Hirsch Reserve. As for the food, the menu is simple but always evolving around seasonal delights. I start with the deviled eggs. Deviled eggs??? that's right, the taste is so unusual, but oh soooo good. The grilled brussel sprouts are also an excellent choice. The meats and seafood are always prepared uniquely and to perfection. The deserts are fabulous from what I hear, but I have never had room to try them. I always opt for an after dinner Manhattan instead. read more

While visiting my parents, we went to Odettes for lunch. Very nice surprise. An upscale little bistro in downtown. Parking is your biggest concern, because once you step inside, attentive staff take over. We enjoyed their vegi plate ( amazing beans and greens) their hamburger and Reuben. Other reviews mention the Reuben; it does not disappoint! I left with a quart of their homemade pickle spears and ketchup Both were wonderful. read more

We went on a Saturday night. Atmosphere was very good, but it was very very loud. We both had the beef and a fried oyster appetizer. The food was pretty good. I wouldn't say it scored any memorable ratings though. It was just pretty good. The dishes were small and we both left still hungry. Quality & quantity was just not there for the money. With tip, my bill was appoximately $130. I think you can do better somewhere else. Sorry. I tried this restaurant again in Mid March 2018. Very disappointing menu with very little entrees to choose from. My guest and I finally chose to get cheese burgers - because there just weren't any good choices. Very disappointed again. read more

Odette has a warm, inviting, contemporary atmosphere with an attentive, friendly staff and a diverse, vegetarian-friendly menu. Everything I had was obviously made from scratch, with high-quality ingredients and close attention to both flavor and presentation. The quality of the meal and the service were equal to what I have found at the best restaurants in major, international cities.
