I went to watch a film, but the dialogue in my screen sounded like the actors were speaking into a tin can -- the audio quality was extremely poor. I raised the issue with the manager, who acknowledged there was a problem but dismissed my complaint. I then contacted Odeon through their website and was promised a response. Just tried out the new IMAX screen yesterday. Odeon have converted just 2 of their screens in London - Wimbledon and Greenwich. The screen is much bigger so as to fill your whole field of vision - this effect works best if you sit in the middle nearer the front. This is probably one of the few times it's worth the extra money to sit in those premier seats, especially as they've reserved a large block of seats for premier seating. A great projection system with really high resolution and lovely sound - they demonstrate the system right at the start of the presentation. Another bonus is no adverts but only 2 trailers (I love trailers!) The foyer area was looking a bit grubby yesterday though and there were A4 size sheets of printed paper peeling off the walls yesterday. Hence one star off read more

Here for the 3D IMAX, Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens. The display was good, not blow-you-away great. But the movie was great, thanks JJ. Seats were not very comfortable, however. Odeon - Cinema Near Me - London, XGL

A cinema is a cinema is a cinema. But, little things do make a difference: The staff here are friendly and courteous and not actually complacent to the point of rudeness, which is a change from my other cinema experiences (ahem, Wandsworth). It's not hugely busy even when you think it's going to be, or at least they've managed to lay it out so that people keep moving. It's really easy to get to and convenient for other town activities e.g. shopping. The screens and chairs and sound and all that essential stuff are hunkydory. 4 stars because, well, it's just a cinema, and also because I completely object to Odeon now charging 'premium' i.e. extortionate prices to sit in the best seats which used to just cost the same as the others. I've never been here when it was crowded, so I don't know what they do on big weekends with major releases. In fact, I've been here a number of times when the theatre was practically empty and I wondered how they could afford to be open. Good: The seats are comfortable. The arrangement of seats is quite nice. I'm sure everyone would have a good view, even if it was crowded. The quality of the projectors and sound is good. The location is convenient. The toilets are clean enough. Bad: "Premier seats". Are you kidding? It's expensive as it is. I don't need an upgrade. Concession prices. Extortionate. Smuggle some food in. Advertisements. We PAID to see the movie. This isn't YouTube where all that free content is paid for by advertisements. We forked over cold hard cash for this. They put a full TWENTY MINUTES of previews and advertisements before the feature film. Many modern films run 2 hours and more with no intermissions. The extra 20 minutes of unwanted crap make you more likely to get up in the middle and go to the loo--missing some of the film you PAID to see. The theater should put in a 20-minute intermission and run the adverts then! Pro tip: Go when it's not crowded, bring your own snacks, and plan to be 15 minutes late. read more

Yes, cinema in London is ridiculously expensive.... That's the reason why I only go to the cinemas with the Orange Wednesdays 2x1 ... Half price movie and half prize pizza at Pizza Express if you feel like it! I like the Odeon in Wimbledon, it's confortable, easy to get and always find a seat last minute. And if you have the Odeon card membership you can upgrade to premium seats with no cost! Sometimes I miss more "alternative" movies but always find something good to see. That way I can keep going doing one of the things I like the most: movies! So from now on wednesday is "Movie night"! read more

Perhaps I've been spoiled by American theatres and how grandiose and comfortable they are. Maybe nothing else compares to those amazingly comfortable seats, the terraced aisles culminating in a perfect movie going experience? I guess that's why everyone gives ODEON a 4*+ while I award it with a measly 3* rating. Maybe it's the fact that I've always had a luxurious movie experience or perhaps it's the businesswoman in me seeing potential not being taken advantage of? Whatever it is, ODEON just doesn't hit the mark for me. Pros: Great movie theatre with lots of space, concession options, plenty of theatre rooms and 3D IMAX options. Cons: Uncomfortable seats, aisles too small for people to walk by, inability to service points to customers with an ODEON membership when they buy online with the app (needs to be addressed!). My bum literally aches when the movie is over from the sheer discomfort the old seats cause... and this is in the 3D IMAX theatre room! If we're paying for an IMAX experience, it should be a true IMAX experience. They need to revamp this place a bit! read more

Arrived at wimbledon Odeon with a friend to watch a movie. Had an huge issue with redeeming my tickets purchased online via groupon. Manager "Matt "was very very helpful and sorted the problem out and made a quick thinking approach so that we didn't miss out anymore of the film which had started already. I'm not a big fan of the cinema generally, but guess who is?! If I have to spend £15 to go and see something I'd rather go to the theatre and see something I wont be able to pick up from the bargain bin for a £1 in a few months time. But as my Mrs says, I'm missing the point of 'the experience' Anyway me thinking I'm being smart I bag some free previews to Great Expectations (Dickens is her favourite author, extra girlfriend points for me). To enter the main space of the cinema you enter by Morrisons and go up some escalators. Once up there's a wide open foyer. Now I didn't have to queue for this particular screening, simply showing my bit of paper and told 'screen 10', but it looked like a good enough system from what I could see. They've got your usual overpriced popcorn and drink concessionary stands far from the queues, but with Morrisons next door... (depending on what your cinema ethics are you can choose to take advantage of that or not). Now we had a free screening, so I can't imagine they cleaned for us. It didn't seem so as there were stains and bits of rubbish galore. Screen 10, standard screen of mid size. Had a few sound issues, but nothing I'm fussed about. The seats were however quite comfortable, I didn't have to fidget too much. Bonus. So it's nothing to write home about but it does the trick. read more

This Odeon cinema can be found in a great location literally a stones throw from Wimbledon station. It's a pretty standard Odeon although it does have quite a few screens and is always showing the latest and popular films at various times during the day so you should be able to find a time to suit you easily. It also has a food and sweet sections for any snacks you might want for the film. TIP: I always try to visit the cinema at quiet times of the day so usually try to go straight after work for the 6pm-7pm showings which are much quieter if you are like me and don't like crowded cinemas. read more

Have just been to see a film in the IMAX screen. £18.45 for poor lighting so everyone was taking out their phones to check the seat numbers BUT THERE WEREN'T ANY! What's the point of booking a specific seat if you can't find it. The picture was good but the soundtrack had a constant rumble throughout which made the seat vibrate. Went to see Tron Legacy. Wow the IMAX cinema in Wimbledon was a fantastic experience. During the film a cyberspace-ship hoovered and believe it or not. Our chairs began to shake and sure enough it felt like a real real live situation. I along with friends would say have the experience for yourselves. sure all films are unique but man this Tron sure is pure genius..... Take a look for yourselves. read more

Odeon is always a firm favourite with me. The Wimbledon one in particular is my local one so I've been going to it for years. I always find the staff helpful however the toilets are a bit gross. But its a cinema and it does what is says on the tin. read more

This is an average Odeon cinema, it is in a brilliant location which is most of its appeal as its only a stones throw from the train and underground station. There is not a lot of choice of food and what there is available is very expensive. The cinema does get very busy evenings and weekends, if you like to watch a film in the peace and quiet try to catch a day time showing. read more

The cinema is like many other odeon cinemas, a little bit over-priced but overall nice with good, large screens. There are a huge number of overpriced good which are available to buy such as pop corn, ice cream and drinks, the usual. The staff are helpful and there is a good student discount which you need id for but is significant and so worth it. read more

Standard Odeon cinema, plenty of screens and gets the vast majority of the latest releases.

Fair sized screens with decent size and rake of comfy seats. Film I saw was projected slightly out of focus and at least one speaker was blown, reminded me of my old Fiesta car with it's dodgy speakers. Was only apparent on some scenes, but took you out of the movie. read more

It's 4 minutes walk from my house but yet I choose to take a 10 minute bus to cineworld. It's ridiculously expensive with a pathetic loyalty program (and when I complained they compared their loyalty program with Sainsbury). I was still going there Only because it's near to my place but they stopped giving the option of choosing your seat (I guess the first cinema in the world to do that). For cineworld I get tickets directly on my iPhone and odeon charges a fee for online payment too. They are loosing big time and will close soon read more
