2+ years on from my last review, and things here have improved! We moved out of the UK for just over a year and back again and in that time someone at Cineworld got their crap together. Both as a chain (through improved booking abilities, etc.) and on the local level (through more competent staff) things are on the up. The huge queues to get tickets are gone, the snack bar is staffed a bit better (wait times are a bit shorter), and the place overall has had a bit of a spruce up, and the management is visible and active. Since we came back last summer, things at Wandsworth have been consistently good! The big thing for the chain overall is that Unlimited members can now book online and print tix from the automated machines. This is such a positive change and makes getting in a million times easier. I still recommend joining Unlimited if you see 2 or more movies on average a month as the deal is still great - plus now you get additional discounts on snacks and, after a year, no 3D charges. Over the past couple years this Cineworld seems to have made a great effort to serve its customers better. I appreciate that! read more

Cineworld's cinema at Wandsworth has a large number of screens, including a few large ones. This means it can show a high number of films at any time. Those are its main strengths. The weaknesses are its staff, which tend to be elusive just when you need them most (i.e. when stuck in a long queue for a ticket 5 minutes before the film is due to start) and the fact that as a Cineworld cinema, the celluloid diet to be had is a comparatively mainstream one. Still, overall the range of screens and films to be found here make it worth traipsing to. Just consider turning up an 5-10 minutes earlier than you might otherwise to mitigate the sloppy staffing of ticket and snack desks. read more

This is a perfectly good cinema. It shows lots of films. It has many screens. It sells popcorn. I still reel when a ticket costs more than a tenner (3D) but alas, that is true of London everywhere. It's easily accessible from the shopping centre and car park. It has a big spacious foyer and is surrounded by places in which to eat. After 7pm, they will validate your parking ticket so it's free. The chairs are comfortable. But: Allow 20 minutes to buy food. My friend forsook ice cream because she had to wait too long. The staff here are among the most miserable and slow I have ever come across. It was painful to watch and be served by them, and if I am paying a tenner to watch a film, I think I deserve more than someone muttering at me grumpily and taking half an hour to put popcorn in a bag. And their card machine didn't read my card resulting in waiting in a line to buy a ticket I'd already bought. Bah. Sorry Cineworld. read more

This is my local cinema and, as a Cineworld card holder, I have visited many times over the last six months or so, more and more so recently! I have definitely had mixed experiences, but on the whole positive ones. Basically, it is just what you would expect from a main-name cinema chain. The Cinecard itself is a great draw, as for only around £16/month you can see as many films as you like, plus you get 10% off food and drink. There is also the bonus of a Ben and Jerry's counter, which we almost always pay a visit to when seeing a film, and on the last two occasions we have had very generous servings (once even to the point that I thought she had misunderstood me and given me a size up!). Although there was one particularly slow staff member a few weeks ago who had to check every box for the flavour name each time, even as you were pointing it out to her and saying 'that one, it's THAT one right there!!!!!' - this created quite a queue but generally people could see the funny side for the poor woman. I have not seen her on the counter again thank goodness! The staff are generally nice, helpful, and chatty if you show any interest in wanting a chat. The ticket machines are helpful during busy times, though it did take us a while to get our heads round them! Unfortunately, for some of the more independent or specialised films they tend to have very short runs of only a few days and at awkward times, but overall I'm happy that this is the cinema that is only a short bus ride away. It's not five stars only because of all the snazzy bits and bobs that more independent cinemas can offer, but for a Cineworld chain cinema it's really not bad. read more

If you live in Wandsworth, like cinema, and don't own one of those Cineworld Unlimited cards, you, my friend, are a fool. For about £15 a month you can see as many movies as you like. Watch two and you're winning. Watch more than five in a month and you feel guilty you're ripping them off. The food here is usual cinema fodder. Overpriced. Downstairs there is a Poundland that will sell you industrial quantities of snackage for nice, round quantities of money. The staff are pretty cool so you won't get checked, unless you're gonna be a dick about it. But often there is nothing better than a bladder destroying cinema bought gigantopop. If you're gonna see two movies, buy your tickets at the same time. Simple. The queue can get pretty epic. Often you can avoid the queue by buying your ticket at the ice cream stand. Only if the staff know how to do this though. If they look new, go for the regular queue. By the screens are those phone dangler vending machines. If you're on a date, buy her one of the Hello Kitty rings. She'll love it's cute, tacky charm. (Mine did, but then she is weird / awesome.) Keep your 3D glasses! Bring them to any 3D movie you see. This is my absolute favourite cinema!! Great location with a huge variety of Restaurants and High Street brand shops in the same centre. I regularly book the VIP tickets because they seat you in a small room with 12 seats and dedicated sound system so the sound is perfectly clear! 90% of the time myself and my friends have had the VIP box to ourselves! The VIP tickets also give you access to the bar where you can buy alcoholic drinks to take in with you to the room. Great selection of Pic'n'Mix and I always end up spending a fortune on sweets lol If you sign up for a Cineworld account you save 10% on all tickets when you book online and for £14.99 a month you get unlimited visits (This doesn't include VIP tickets). read more

This is one of the larger Cineworld locations. The O2 one is still my favourite, but this one is definitely a close second. Perched atop a large shopping centre, it's surrounded with plenty shopping and dining options. I go here after work almost weekly and don't get bored with dinner options, so that's a good sign. The cinema itself us always clean and comfortable, staff are professional and courteous and it's always a good experience. I've never really been one for fancy cinemas. All I need is a big screen and a bucket of popcorn, and Cineworld at Wandsworth has both of those things. Yes, like all cinemas, the snacks are expensive, (and the hot dogs are weird) but it's close to home and it plays lots of movies, so it works for me. read more

This chain is great because of its subscription card. If you enjoy film and go to the cinema regularly, a nominal monthly payment (I think it's £13.50 now - when I started it was £9.99), you can visit as much as you like. In fact, you can visit any Cineworld (except the central London four - that costs a little extra) in the country. And with 14 screens here, there is always quite the variety. Although why so many Tamil films and so few indie/arthouse? I never eat the snacks, so I wouldn't know about their bar, etc. As there is a Waitrose and Sainsbury's within walking distance, we simply choose our snacks there and try and dodge the 'bag Nazi'. Cinema is close to home so that is all i need popping out to go watch a good movie. I usually go to the late showings and even then its busy. There are a lot of showing screens. The service is ok but room for improvement. One down fall is the queue for snacks is ridiculous it just builds up in seconds because the cashiers are VERY SLOW with little life in them. a very large cinema in the southside complex, it has all the blockbusters and a few rooms for screening of bollywood films. its free to park after 7pm as long as you validate your ticket at the cinema booth on the way out. There are a number of restaurants on the outside if you prefer to eat first. The popcorn is fresh and not rubbery but again expensive for what it is. def recommend to watch a film here read more

This is a good cinema in the Southside shopping centre, with a decent selection of films. It's very handy if you've a Cineworld unlimited pass, and live in South London. Good for a lazy Sunday film sesh; we usually get a curry in nearby Tooting or something while we're down there. Some of the screens are big too; I don't know about all the techy things like sound and stuff, but it seems to do the job. Based in the Southside shopping centre Cineworld is a reasonably good cinema. Good sized screens with quality sound. Does special offers from time to time and if you sign up for the Email they sometimes have advance screenings for free or as part of a survey group. Access is via lift or escalator. Plenty of ticket windows and friendly staff. read more

Well...... for 4 years I had a wonderful experience at Wandsworth, great staff, wonderful films, clean loos, polite and helpful staff, a good all round experience. time after time, great service..... best cinema around . But then , one evening , out of the blue, a staff member was rude to me on the phone, I reported it of course, but the site itself did nothing , lots of calls to head office, and the complaints line , but still nothing, no e-mail, No letters. No phone calls .....Month and month went by , I stayed loyal to the site, and kept up with the calling , thinking it was just an over site, all I wanted was an apology, as this meant Cineworld as a large company were talking responsibility for their rude staff member, and to be honest I was expecting them to do just that, because of the excellent service I had had over the previous 4, years . But no ... it turned nasty very fast ..... Of course .the said female staff member must of been informed of the complaint I put in ...... as she must of been asked question to her behavior on that evening date and time. so I was really not expecting the treatment I got on my next visit to the Cineworld site. This is just my interpretation of the situation of course, but I believe because she was allowed to get away with the bad behavior in the first instant, she was brave enough to be nasty a second time, but this time to my face ...it was embarrassing hurtful , and left me in tears . Of course I tried to ignore her childlike behavior, but it was very upsetting, as I had my daughter with me at the time .I left the top part of the cinema and went to the lower level , thinking if i move away then she would stop ...... but I was wrong, she then come down to the next level where the ice cream is sold .. where her behavior continued . I then went off to the security guard, " who was very kind, and helpful , as he could see the distress I was in . He went off to get the manager that was on duty than evening ...... this person was the biggest waste of time ....After I relayed the situation to her , without a sorry, without saying I will go off and look into this .... ( ie look at the security creamers etc ) she said " NO I DON'T THINK MY STAFF MEMBER WOULD DO THAT ...... i was so shocked that she had made he mind up without any investigation at all..... no sorry , and just about called me a lair to my face . well after this appalling behavior I have written to the head of the company mookey ..... many times, he never even had the respect to look into it ..... no replay from him at all ... SHAMEFUL INDEED . I once again got in contact with the complaints, as I was so shocked that a large company like this could , or would not take responsibility for their own staffs behavior. The next move from this staff member was appalling beyond belief ..... I was at my home, just about to go to bed, in my PJ s....... 9.45pm i had a loud knocking at my door, it made me jump ...... as it was late, I left it, hoping whoever it was would go away ,,,,, but the knocking got louder and louder... until a voice said open the door its the police .... this was close to 10pm now . and i was now thinking ...police at my door, " this late , someone has died " .... when I got to the door I was arrested .....by eight big policeman.... me a women with no criminal record. it seemed because I had sent messages to this staff member , asking to be left alone , ( as Cinworld were doing nothing to protect me a customer..... ) she went off to the police to report me for harassment ..... anyhow ... very log story short , I was locked in a cell for over 4 hours , question and set free after 4am ...I was finger printed and left t deal with the stress of it all .... to this day cineworld have not taken responsibility for the staff member NO letter of apology .... to this day I am still asking . its appalling . I will keep trying for that apology letter, as I would not like any other customer treated as I have been .......the company have been pompous and childlike ..... this needs to change for the sake of all customer that see films with this company . read more

Hi all, The absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered..... this is my local cinema for many years and I go there quite often, normally all is wonderful. But believe it or Not Today I could Not watch my 'booked' movie with my UNLIMITED Card and guess what I did Not book it online, I booked it Downstairs where I meant to get a 'delicious' icecream... Ok, this is what happened: I went to get an ice cream and enjoy Tom Hanks movie: Bridges of Spies. I was running late for the 17.20 and I in rush asked about diffrent flavours, the lady didn't really know and had to check...wasting my time ... I didn't mind as maybe she is new or... or... or.... Any how we got the ice cream sorted and She asked me to pay while she went to the back room... I double checked the price as with the unlimited I should get discount, all correct I paid. She said I didn't need to choose seat as there were few people there and I COULD SET ANYWHERE!!! ....She offered to throwaway the receipt for me...I said Yes Thanks and again the lady went to the back room and actually she gave me 'Nothing' ... I asked surprisingly sorry I don't have my cinema ticket... she was like i gave it to you and I was ' no, i don't have it'... she then suggested I go upstairs and I just have to show them my unlimeted card. I did.. upstairs they were like, SORRY you need a ticket ... I explained to them. They called a lady I guess was the manager... she confirmed with the lady downstairs what happened... she disappeared... After few minutes a guy, I guess another manager showed up... I asked him if I could watch another movie, which was about to start as I by then was too late to catch the movie I booked. He was like ' We can't let you book another movie running the same time as.........' I was like, how is that my fault , if she throwed away my ticket and he was like she checked the bin it was NOT there.... When I went downstairs the ticket lady was like, I spoke with them, they should let you in... she made a call to ask me then to go as all is OK now... by then I was 'tired' and decided to go home... I am generally a Bubbly and Postive human, but this was an absolute Customer Service Failure... I had to write this review to share it and on behalf of all those who went through similar experience..... I am considering sharing my experience on YouTube and other social media ...etc Guys All that was on WED night and according to the ice cream/ticket lady there were barely Few ppl watching the movie I booked: Bridges of Spies.... Watched A film in there today, staff so rude, no customer service what so ever! Food dry, and the best part of it was my parking! Haha! Made me pay £5.00 when it said FREE parking! Had to go back to the shopping centre twice cause their old machine wouldn't take notes to pay! Wen up to get some change and the lady goes sorry can't help you I am like mate I need to drive out she's like yes sorry I am afraid I won't be able to help you and I won't open the till! Terrible customer service- I booked online to see a movie with unlimited card and was late due to a tube strike. The supervisors and manager refused to let me see a different movie at a later time, because the movie I had originally booked had not finished running. They were totally incompetent at fixing the problem and wasted journey for me. I won't be renewing my unlimited card because they are not capable of helping customers, and offered no help whatsoever. read more

Big cinema that shows alot of the latest movies on more than one screen. If you can make it on a Tuesday tickets are half price. It does get busy on the weekends and on Tuesday's but if you can get there early and then go to eat in one of the restaurants next door. read more

Its the nearest Cineworld to me as i live in Dulwich. I get the #37 bus Peckham to Putney Heath stops outside the Wandsworth College then a 5 minute walk into Southside shopping centre up the escalator and your there....staff are friendly and helpful! read more
