What a wonderful way to spend an evening!…read more Two films (usually with a theme running between them) for £7.50. SEVEN FIFTY!! Last night's was a Joaquin Phoenix double bill, showing Walk The Line followed by Two Lovers. While we ended up skipping the first film and just having dinner, the price is still very reasonable. We shared a lovely bottle of wine outside on the terrace (had to sit on the wall though as all the tables were full) with amazing views of the river and Hammersmith Bridge. Back inside for dinner, which we shared: a large mezze platter and some mushroom bruschetta, both of which were delicious and just enough. The cinema itself is what every cinema should be: small and dark, with the seats on an incline so everyone can see. They showed the previews and ads WAY before the start time (PERFECT!!), even drew the curtains in between the previews and the film itself (DRAMATIC!!). Riverside has much more to offer than just a restaurant and a cinema... it also shows stand-up comedy, has a fully functioning tv studio where they film live shows, a theatre for live music, and art exhibitions. A wonderful space with quality at every turn.

The male employee was inside cleaning alone, and we tried to stay out of the way so he could clean the huge mess in our row. My friend even helped him clean up by collecting trash and putting it in the trash bag. There was chocolate smeared on the seats and popcorn all over the floor. There were people in the other rows and he still cleaned their rows. As he left and more people came in, we realized he would not come back to clean our row. I went outside to ask another staff member if they could come in and clean the seat with chocolate smeared because we had to sit on it (it was a full house). She went and asked him and I overheard him say "well they came in early so I couldn't ask them to move so I could clean, so I'm not going in now because there's people there". The staff member came back to me and told us it was basically our fault for being there early and apparently "in the way". We didn't mind the mind the popcorn on the floor, but the seat was unable to be sat in. She told me we could move to the front, but those seats are priced at a lower cost than what we paid for. We just sucked it up and sat on a shopping bag, but I hope this employee never works a day in customer service ever again.

They also have lemon sorbet flavour ice cream which I never seem to find in other cinemas. However my fellow Qypers I just wanted to share the traumatic ordeal I experienced at Vue cinema in Sheperds bush screen 6! I arrived into the movie pretty late so i sat near to the front with my boyfriend. whilst watching the movie I noticed a dark shadow move across the cinema floor. At first I ignored it cause I didnt want to jump into conclusions. Not until when the cinema was slightly brightened and I saw a rat yes a rat! running around freely and I am sure there was more than one. I was not comfortable at all as I was constantly watching the floor and not the movie. I made a complaint to the manager and recieved some compensation but that is beside the point. I paid to watch a with my boyfriend not to watch a movie with my boyfriend and rats! So beware Qypers!

It can hold a capacity of around fifty people, whom are so close, so intimate with the action, it is all but impossible not to become fully engrossed in the show. My visit gave me the opportunity to revel in the parody: Silence The Musical. It was an intellectual hoot and gripping through its sleek direction and execution by the actors. Songs such as "If I could smell her c@$#," had the audience in fits of laughter as Tom Murphy (aka Dr Hannibal Lector) gave a sterling performance every time he stepped on stage. Talking about sterling performances, Charlie Cable was wonderful in her portrayal of Clarice Starling, and the synergy between Clarice and Lector was impressive. A special mention to Connor Brown as Buffalo Bill, whose ingenious characterization of the crazed lunatic left the audience in an emotional melee of laughter, shock and at times sheer amazement. All in all a great show, with a fabulous cast in a superb venue. I am looking forward to the next theatrical instalment by Imperial Productions.

(yours truly being an American size 14) when they caught my eye. Yup, I too went to see Silence! the musical, and it was fabulous. Upstairs is the Curtains Up pub, a gastropub in the fashionable barons court area. The Bar snacks aren't cheap, but they're good. Imperial Productions did an excellent job, although one of the pillars can spoil the view, the space is intimate and creates something incredibly atmospheric, with ingenious use of space, props, lighting and music interacting with excellent characterisation. Silence of the Lambs really *does* work as a comedy musical. Now that's scary.
