Cancelled my appointment, not sure who the RUDE woman was answering the phone, nasty, disrespectful wanted a reason why I was cancelling. Switched there last year.. crammed waiting room. Seen by an optometrist who was lifeless. They never completed the exam because"we haveftongonto a meeting".. we'll call you to schedule. Nope . Double billed; insurance and my payment. No refund. No reminder for year followup. Developed serious eye issue and my LMD wanted me seen urgently. Had not switched to a new practice yet. Called the office and explained my situation and need for attention. Response was basically what do you want me to do. I explained diagnosis and need. Response was well your MD needs to send us a referral with exactly what tests she wants done???? Like an internal medicine MD would specifically know that . She refused to give me an appt and told me if it's a cornea issue they are booking months out . Thanks I'll be blind by then. Told her I was seeing my MD tomorrow and she hung up. I was seen at Flaum who considers the eye issue urgent and the secretary knew exactly what was needed. Be wary. I'm never going back to this poor excuse for an eye practice again. read more

Good luck if you need to make an appointment here. Either the receptionists are too busy texting or they're out smoking, because they definitely aren't answering phones. If you leave a message they won't get back to you. If you leave a message online it says 'they'll get back to you within 1-2 business days,' Good luck with that. I've left multiple messages and have never received a call or message back. If you need an appointment you basically need to drive there to set one up. Unfortunately they're one of the few practices in Rochester with a pediatric ophthalmologist so my hands are sort of tied to get my child the care they need. Unfortunately, they're using a switchboard to take messages. Just an update. I had to drive to Ocusight to figure out where my daughter's contact lenses were. They had them and supposedly called someone to let us know. Neither my ex-wife or I have ever received a message despite their claim. They required me to make ANOTHER appt for her to try on the new contact lenses (again) to make sure....no clue. I've had contact lenses for 35+ years and I've never had to make appointments to make sure my contacts fit, not once. This time I scheduled my appointment for the Greece location. I'm hoping the contact lenses actually make it from the Brighton to Greece location. I can't call the Greece office to check the day before to confirm this because the Brighton office (which can't be reached, see above) controls the phones for both locations. Not sure if these are trained medical providers are just AI bots determining my child's needs. If you love your kids and their sense of sight, go elsewhere, I beg you. read more

I am physically disabled and so often have to reschedule when my sciatic nerve is too flared to make it in; the receptionist *knew that* and still told me I would be removed from the practice if I rescheduled again! (I was not waiting until the last minute either!) And their tone was unkind, rude! So I switched eye doctors! But their appointment reminders kept coming. So I messaged them and asked to be off the mailing list. Nothing. So I called. No change! So I wrote a letter! I am still getting appointment reminders to this day, and it upsets me because of the harsh way that I was treated that led me to leave the practice in the first place. read more

I initially went in with a tiny cyst under my eyelid. Dr. Goodfriend recommended hot compresses and a return in a week. The eye was still not perfect, but the technician tested me for a new (sunglasses) prescription anyway (said I'd be fine) and when my glasses arrived, everything was a blur...no surprise. Unfortunately, I had no idea how bad they were until I had already ordered a second pair. Now I had NO glasses. I was rescheduled with another (retired) technician, Mary Borelli, who was incredible. She spent so much time with me determined to get my prescription (which was dangerously incorrect) corrected. I was forced to not only surrender the first pair to be fixed, but now will have no glasses for over two weeks. This is not only irresponsible , it's dangerous for me to be driving. It appears to me that Mary Borelli, a retired and dedicated technician was retained by OcuSight to "fix" any and all incorrect prescriptions. "Never time to do it right, but always time to do it over" is a poor practice for any business. I would certainly like Mr. Shariff Eassa, the CEO to weigh in on my experience. read more

BE WARNED. OcuSight does NOT participate in either the MyCare Account or the MyChart Account patient portals provided by Rochester Regional Health and UR Medicine respectively. This means that you will NOT be able to review the details and summaries of any visits with your physician. Most if not all of the other physicians and specialists in the region participate in these two (free) features so that patients can check their email immediately after their appointment and refer to details of their visit including test results, physician observations, recommendations, etc. This patient data is automatically posted on both MyCare and MyChart accounts along with future appointments and phone numbers of all of your physicians. Recently visited this office after my dermatologist referred me for an eye issue. Specifically I saw Dr. Sean Mogan. The office is centrally located so easy in and out, they were great with Covid precautions. Dr. and tech were nice enough, check in & out was easy, procedure, although painful (I knew it would be) was completed successfully in one visit. Very happy about that. I was referred to Dr. Mogan as an Ocular Surgeon, but the office is actually a full service eye shop, so you can do eye exams, glasses, etc. Can definitely recommend this doctor as the experience was good. I had an appointment at the Brighton office today. I saw two different techs before seeing the doctor. One of the techs refused repeatedly to wear a mask, even after I explained that I was immuno-compromised. Eventually, after I refused to stay in the room with her, and stepped out into the hall, she left and came back with a mask. This was a risk to me, and especially to others. Patients should not have to demand to be treated professionally and safely. I will find another practice. read more

For two years in a row, I received 2 appointment cancellation notices and to get another appointment meant having to wait for months. Also, whenever I call the office, I am on hold for at least 4 to 5 minutes, and most recently after waiting for 5, the phone system automatically switched me into a message center. I left a message that needed a fairly quick response, and did not get a return call. I have been on eye pressure drops for several years, and during my last visit, the doctor didn't even remember that I used drops, and was blase about whether I needed to continue them or not. In short, my experience with this practice has not been positive. read more

I have had great service and care at the Webster office so suggested my husband and daughter go. They have had one problem after another with just getting contacts and the office getting the right place and time for appointments and just trial contacts to be distributed. It has been a lot of time (month or so) and still no contacts or prescription for contacts has been given. It also took months to get it for them. Also, watching an office worker continually pinch another office worker's butt, well, that says it all. Unfortunately, they have lost several patients due to this which is sad as the drs we have had are great. read more

So after reading some reviews this place does seem shady in the billing!! They have you sign a waiver upon check in and at the check out they are ready to charge you and immediately throw in your face the waiver you just signed 30 mins earlier!!!! That seemed almost like its a setup right away!! Also they dont inform you if your insurance is used up before making appointments. Definitely wont be back here ,we got the prescription and will be going elsewhere for lenses and future eye care. read more

My son got called to schedule an appointment and mind you his insurance is Blue choice so they do this every 2 years, so I ask the lady that he was due and yeah she said yes, now when he goes to the app it was not the normal drops and they make us sign waivers but why? When I decide to ask its because supposedly the doctor needs to see the patient before the time for a check up.... HELLO not everyone can pay almost what 300 or 400 dollars in eye exames!!!!!!! Now I am trying to fight this because they are trying to put this in the insurance and I know they won't cover. The only thing they can do is send it to insurance and see. .. Nop not my place anymore. First they should tell the patients this and then try to bdo all this. To me this is very sketchy trying to just come for an eye exam and not alot of changes in the eyes. read more

We went here for years and I have nightmares about it. You can wait for 2.5 hrs for 5 min with the Dr. but if you're 15 minutes late you've missed your appointment and get charged anyway. Lots of double billing happening. Pretty sure I paid many bills that my insurance had already paid. Finally caught on after a few years. Also, the ladies all hang around and gossip right in front and don't look after customers. Management isn't managing this place. read more

If I could give this business a zero star rating, I would. My two children have been there since their first eye exams as toddlers, they are now 15 and 11. I tried for years to put up with this horrible place. I should not have waited this long to leave. The office staff does not treat the patients with respect or care. The receptionists are condescending bordering on rude. They would fail to submit relevant information to the insurance, causing us to have to pay out of pocket, multiple times. They would mark us as having had the appointment when they were scheduling the appointment (their mistake), then telling us the insurance won't pay because we were already seen the week before. It would take hours of my life to sort and straighten things out, and there was never a single apology or any expressing of regret for the mess they caused. Over the course of many years, there were multiple other errors, inconsistencies, and medical negligence. Our family has seldom experienced worse medical or human treatment anywhere. The doctors are mostly ok. Dr. Jagoda is great! On his last eye appointment, my son told Dr Markowitz that he still couldn't see after the latest prescription, even two weeks later. Dr. Markowitz looked at him (my son is 10) and said : "Well I just don't believe you". I leave it up to you to decide whether such treatment of a child is either respectful or professional - on any level, ever. When I tried to share our long-term experience with the office manager, she basically said she did not want to respond in any way, and only noted that she is not sure why we stayed there as long as we did. Instead of being interested in improving any of the many, MANY issues we encountered, she didn't care to address any of them, and didn't care if we left or stayed. Made it such an easy decision. So glad we are done. My advice would be for you to move on to the next place on your list. read more

The business practices here are very shady. They will string you along making you come into the office many times charging high fees for every visit. Once you've spent hundreds on office visits you're left with an inaccurate prescription and you'll have to go somewhere else to be able to see. read more

Extremely unhappy with this business. I was asked to go for what seemed like the same tests multiple times and was charged high fees before my surgery and despite calling their billing office multiple times to make sure it was something I could afford, I could not get a clear answer about the out of pocket expense and they charged me separate for the doctor, separate for the facility that was used for the surgery and separate for the anesthesiologist and on top of that 3 separate office and test visits. All together it turned out more than double of what their office thought I'd be charged. The doctor was very rude and just gave shady answers to my post-operation issues saying "you are not seeing clearly right now but your eye gets used to it after some time". I would not recommend anyone to this business. read more

I am very disappointed about the medical office ability to provide adequate services. I was surprised by lack of any common sense in the office. I have never seen such a shitty job in any medical office! I got to make an appointment and fill out paperwork for 3 years old baby (I am helping the refugee family from Ukraine). Couple days before the scheduled appointment I received a call from the business that the visit must be cancelled for different office, because only Dr. Markowitz is a pediatric ophthalmologist in OcuSight, and his practice is located in Brighton office. We had to wait for the appointment for several more weeks... Than the office did not schedule a translator for the visit, refused to see the little patient, and reschedule the appointment again. Next 2 visit went relatively smooth. The little boy had to be seen regularly to check treatment in progress. Last week I got 2 appointment reminders from OcuSight, both for the baby Danylo, one for Wen. with Dr. Goodfriend, other for Fri. with Dr. Markowitz. I did double check with boy's mom; she told me that they obviously schedule only one appointment for Danylo. I did cancel the Wednesday app. with explanation, that Dr. Goodfriend were not possibly be the scheduled specialist for 3 years old, that is some system errors. Today, I had to call in a morning that the baby got very sick, has fever, and we need to reschedule the appointment. It was said that by their office policy, the next scheduled appointment cannot be reschedule!!! We have to keep regardless! I implied that we need to see the specialist for baby, but I will have to check with the baby's mom, if the pointed time and day will work for her. Time was pointed in Dr. Markowitz schedule. I recall to the office after 5 min (I had to check with baby's mom), to tell that the appointment will need to be schedule for any Fri, but they refused to do that, because of their office policy!!! It is despicable! I ask to speak with an office manager of such a nice business. Probably, I should not even mention, nobody calls me to make up for the nonsenses and apologize. I hope Dr. Markowithz and other doctors will read the story, to learn how his patients have been treated by office secretaries, and the office manager. I want to know who responsible for the most unacceptable rules, and way to serve patient (especially little ones) in a medical facility! read more

I started coming here years ago. I saw one ophthalmologist until he retired. The ophthalmologist I see now is equally as good. I had a detached retina and I am watched for glaucoma suspect. I also have blepharitis. I wouldn't go any place else for my eye care. But I get my glasses at another optical office. read more

I wish I did not choose OcuSight from the beginning. That was a terrible experience. Newly moved to town and chose OcuSight Brighton office because it is close by. Got a pair of glasses through insurance. The first time I wear it, got the strange feeling that someone is virtually pulling my eyeballs. They told me it is fine, I just need time. I believed. Called them in two weeks because my eyeballs feel painful after wearing the glasses all day long. They asked me to try longer. Eventually came to office and had the eye exam redone. There was 50 degrees difference, but Dr. Jacobson said it is trivial, no need to redo the glasses. I insisted to have a new glasses. Got a new one, tried for weeks, not fit. Again, requested new one. Eventually, after five months of trying, I figured out this is not going to work. Then had a big argument in the clinic. 3 of the glasses persons, and Dr. Jacobson tried hard to say something really mean, such as "your insurance only paid us $50, we are doing it only because you need help", "eye exam is based on your feedback, there is your fault", "we can never make you happy", "you just want to get a pair of glasses for free". I have been wearing glasses for nearly twenty years, and this experience is something I never expected in my life. I hope this experience is unique and will not happe to you. read more

Hi Everyone. I went here for my eye exam and have been looking for frames here too. I would say Dr. Jagoda who did my eye exam was very nice, as well as her assistant. The optical department ordered one frame to try on as they didn't have the right size for me. Most of the optical department people are more concerned about the technical stuff like the fit, than helping u find the perfect pair of frames that look great on you. That's very dissapointing. They should be concerned with both aspects, not just 1. Ron Haas was very nice though, very accomadating. I'd give him 4 stars but.... It took more time than they said it would take to get the frames in to try on. And they didnt call me like they said they would. I had to call them. Tried them finally. Wasn't pleased with the colors for my complexion and they were too dark. Nice colors, but not for me. I'm out of options as far as frames go, but don't want to buy a frame that isn't perfect or what I can live with day in/day out. So I asked one of the ladies if she could order me one more color to try in that style and said no. I was very upset, as I have tried many other stores, other ocusight places. I've been everywhere. Not having much luck with finding a frame that I really love. So, since the NOT so customer service oriented lady said she Wouldn't help me. Thanks so much. Well...... Let's just say I'm NOT going back to Ocusight. So there is a limit to ordering more than one frame to try on. Really? Geez!! Well I see they really don't want me as a faithful customer and they really don't want my money, nor do they really care about helping me. So where do I go? Their hours suck like most other frames/ eye exam places. But I can live with that, and it takes 5 days or more to just get youre glasses in. I'd give them a 2 star or a one star, but the other aspects, like they eye exam were fine. And happy helpful people are needed.
