Dropped a prop off to be repaired. I know most marine places send these out for repair. I've probably had 8 props repaired in the past by other businesses in 25 years of owning boats. Octane Marine is 10 minutes from my house so I thought I'd try them. I asked if they needed the extra parts that go with the prop. The front desk person said "better send them with, just in case" Normally they don't need them. Whatever. I went with it. Huge Trump flag in the shop. Not my people. But to each their own. 3 months go by. So I call them. The guy says "I lost your phone number. Glad you called. It's ready" I go pick it up. Parts bag with it. I never look in the parts bag. They gave me someone else's parts bag. It wasn't mine. Hub is missing. Parts that are not for my boat or prop. Someone else got short changed too, I'm sure. I've had props repaired way better than this one was repaired. Hard to tell from the picture. It is not a great job. Mediocre at best. I go there to see if they have my hub or can replace my hub. Front desk guys says "I have new hubs you can buy" No thanks. I won't be spending any money here. Went to Laken. They were helpful, friendly, and efficient. I asked if they use the same prop repair place as Octane Marine. They ship their props to Nevada. I'm not sure if they use the same place as Octane Marine. Service guy said it is a waste of money to send props for repair due to higher shipping costs. Business owner reply is an angry response. Hmmm. Thanks for the apology. Sorry we screwed up. Great business practices. Prop has been sitting on a shelf in my garage. It was not "rolling" around anywhere. read more

Slade took great care of me and my boat, and will do the same for you. I had my boat in for a drive oil leak and they fixed it very quickly. I've been going here for 2 years now since I bought this boat, and will definitely be back. They will help you learn how to do things or they will do it for you, they have a ton of parts in stock, will instruct you in what you are attempting, and if you mess it up, you can just drop it off. They have the cleanest shop you've ever seen . You can literally eat off the floor. In the shop, you will see them working on some of the biggest and fastest boats. We are somewhat new to boating and anyone that's entered this community realizes how daunting it can be, particularly when it comes to repairs and maintenance. Asking around it was very clear octane marine was THE place for performance boats. While our moomba surf boat is rather modest to some of the boats in the shop Charlie and his crew treated us like it was the most important boat on the floor (clearly it wasn't). They were patient and considerate and helped educate us every step of the way. Knowing boating is not the cheapest hobbie we fully expected sticker shock to our maintenance invoice. But it was absolutely the fairer then we could have imagined. Especially with novice boaters who could have been taken for a ride with our inexperience, Octane marine was straight up and communicative every step of the way. I know many boat places that are not but not this place. Charlie was very informative and also was kind enough to show my kids around the shop so they could look at all the beautiful boats. I've been using Charlie for years now. His new operation is awesome. Everyone there is very knowledgeable, and helpful in explaining any and all of the work that they do. Very professional. I've had two boats that Charlie has worked on and I have no complaints on any of the work. He explains all the work that he's going to do and he also saves the parts to show you.
