RIP my friend - Nic Cauthen

Worth the price of admission. Found metered parking literally on the street. Put two hours worth and made my way to the pier. Walked all the way to the end where all the fishers were set up. Enjoyed seeing the dolphins, surfers and waves. Explained to my kids that we were walking over the ocean! Even managed to catch a lifeguard jump off the pier into the ocean. So cool. Whether you're here to fish, sightsee or get in a walk, the pier allowes is all to enjoy the best that nature has to offer. Be back soon.

I love the pier! We normally stay in on Oceanside near the beach every year. The views of San Diego salute formation flyover team was Amazing.. We bought our chairs near the rock garden cir and had the perfect view near the pier. We were able to video and I watched with my binoculars. This was held on the 4th of July 2026. So glad we had the opportunity to intake in such amazing views.

Oceanside Pier is one of my favorite spots to unwind. The view is stunning. It's completely free, super relaxing, and perfect for hanging out with friends or family. The ocean air, the open sky, it's just healing. And yeah, sharing that beauty while talking about the Lord made it even more special.

I love coming here when in Oside and love taking a stroll down to pier and back. Ive been here a few times already and each time I am here, I can't help but feel so much joy in my heart. There is something about crashing waves, the scent of salt water, seeing big beautiful shore birds like majestic pelicans fly overhead that brings such calm and happiness within. This view never gets old! Next time I am here, I am going to make it a point to do some jogging by the beach as I really wanted to bolt up and down the pier and pick up the pace a bit more. I saw plenty of people here walking, jogging, fishing, enjoying life. When I was here last, there was also a musician performing, thats always nice to see. I also kept an eye out for the surfers out here and got a good video of one of the surfers catching a wave. I'll definitely be coming back here, over and over again!

It was busy on a Sunday afternoon and as we got closer signs began popping up at motel and vacant lots charging $10 and more to park. We drove the area and found metered parking at a reasonable rate with a short walk to the pier. The strand along the beach was crazy busy, allowing cars and the family style 5 seater bicycles along with any other rental to ride there as well. You can access beach parking from the strand, but the drive can be super slow and frustrating when caught behind a group of bicycles. We enjoyed the views on our walk down the pier. It was a beautiful day and a lot of people were enjoying the beach. The pier is fairly long and it was a nice walk after eating at one of the restaurants nearby. There is a small store and restrooms on the pier. Lots of people fishing and it was really cool getting a close up pic of the pelican.

One of the longest piers on the west coast. Absolutely amazing beach views on both sides, with beautiful walks and beautiful sunsets. Can fish as well and don't need a permit. Originally built in 1888, it has been repaired and rebuilt several times.

This is such a nice walk. It's not too hard to park in the area and it's a pretty easy walk. I have a friend renting a place for a month on the beach and was visiting. After getting donuts nearby, a walk was definitely necessary. It was a beautiful November day and there was lots of people out and about walking and fishing as well as surfing. I like that you can walk halfway across the pier and look down at the surfers catching waves below. It's fun to watch. There are birds everywhere and lots of pelicans and seagulls for photo ops. The walk isn't very long and there's information along the sides. Like a land survey that you can use the QR code stick your camera in the stand they have and take a photo which is sent to the land surveyors. What a great way to keep an eye on the coastline. Unfortunately, due to a fire, you can no longer go all the way to the end, but we are all waiting to see what the new renovation will look like. It's such a pretty walk. The surface is a bit uneven so be prepared if you are with someone who has a little bit of difficulty walking. At night it's lit up by lights, but walking by day is preferable.

OCEANSIDE PIER is my CHILDHOOD! I remember coming here for Math field trips when I was in school, we would have sand castle battles and measure the geometric shapes of sand castle structures. Ikr, totally nerdy, but they were good times and I can say O-side helped me come to like algebra. Stories aside, the pier is perfect. It's got sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and its majestic waves. You'll spot pelicans and other feathered friends perched with locals. Sometimes there's entertainers and poets offering unforgettable memories for tourists and regulars alike. Forgot something? There's a booth by the lifeguard tower with snacks, coffee, hot cocoa, and fishing items. REMEMBER: Don't FEED the sea creatures, they'll walk all over you if you do!

Oceanside Pier is a must-visit place if you're in the area. It's walking distance to many nearby restaurants and bars, and is even near the vintage house that was featured in the original Top Gun film. There's not much to at the pier itself, but I think the simplicity is what makes the experience that much more special. The sunset, ocean water, and horizon is a view that's worthy of a long gazing. I did see a lot of families with young kids fishing and patiently waiting for something to happen. What I liked about the pier is that it didn't feel like a typical touristy/trendy pier, but rather a spot where locales take walks and relax. Overall, I'd love to come back to watch the waves and sunset again.

I'm glad Oceanside's historic wooden pier is nearby. Here's a fun fact, it's one of the longest on the west coast of the United States. How awesome is that!! When I'm there, I enjoy being in the moment with the mesmerizing sunsets, amusing people/wildlife-watching, and listening to talented performers. The coastal vibe is always perrrfect! It puts me at ease - I feel sooo relaxed and carefree...taking it ALL in. This iconic pier is definitely a must-see if you're in the area for some O'side spirit :-) FYI: It's in walking distance to shops, restaurants, the farmer's/sunset markets, movie theater...you name it.

Beautiful sight of the ocean from top of the pier.

It's kind of like the no frill pier you can visit anytime - nothing really flashy here but the sight of old wooden pier, with plenty of walkway to conquer, through the end of the pier. Perfect to relax and for people watching, as well as the regulars who come out to this pier to catch some fish. It does have a little bit of odor here, probably from all the fishing that's done here. But the smell of the ocean will overwhelm you in a good way. Very close by to the local shops and hotels in the vincnity. You can get here by car or if you're adventurous, the Metrolink train comes here from the O.C.

Top Gun house

Ocean Side Pier is great spot for fishing on the pier, riding the waves, taking a bike ride along the coast, picnic in at the beach, there's lots of nearby restaurants within walking distance, and the house from the movie Top Gun is located across the pier. it seemed pretty safe as we did take a night stroll along the pier after having dinner at a nearby restaurant. also, conveniently located on the pier R restrooms.

Having access to both Mission Pacific and The Seabird across the street made the experience feel even more expansive and luxurious. The property itself is gorgeous and the aesthetic is immaculate. However, the service during our stay fell significantly short of what a property of this caliber should deliver. I traveled with a 4-month-old infant and requested a pack & play multiple times over three weeks and it wasn't in my room upon arrival despite repeated confirmations. The front desk was consistently unreachable by phone throughout our stay, which made accessing the resort fee amenities we paid for nearly impossible. I genuinely believe this may have been a staffing issue specific to our visit rather than a reflection of the property's standard. I would absolutely return, the location and property alone make it worth it. I just hope the service matches the beauty of the space next time.

I won't be coming back. When solo women travelers are paying close to $500 a night to stay at an ocean front room, the staff should be trained to treat guest at check in better. As a brown Asian woman, I was shocked at how rude the front office staff (Eric) was to me. It was 103F here the weekend I arrived and even asking for a bottle of water while I waited for the room was asking for too much. I got eye rolls for even requesting water. I did see them be friendly to all the other blonde Caucasian customers and that is just not done! I think I didn't fit the profile of someone who would be staying here and that was how I was treated! Completely disgusting in 2026 Anyway, here are some positives about my 4 day solo trip to Oceanside at this resort: 1. Valet was extremely friendly and nice, worth it totally for me. 2. Ocean view king room was great! I loved the bed and the room. Housekeeping never disappointed. 3. Rooftop bar and swimming pool has good staff. Pool is small and is mostly for lounging which worked out great for me. If you are looking to do laps, you should use the pool at the seabird which is allowed with your stay here. 4. Location is great! I never used my car for the 4 days as I walked everywhere. Lots of places to eat, beach is across the street and it is dog friendly, which is always a nice thing!

Even on a cloudy morning, sitting outside on the boardwalk with the breeze was so nice. Parking was easy, everything was clean and really cute inside, and you order right at the counter. The adorable girl who helped us was SO sweet and friendly! We weren't sure what to order, so she helped us pick some of their more popular dishes and promised we wouldn't be disappointed. She was right! I got the Stratford Scramble and a mocha latte with oat milk. The scramble was a HUGE portion and delicious. Did it completely wow me? No, but I definitely enjoyed it! The mocha latte was SO good. Nuzz got the Chilaquiles Jalisco and his first ever nitro cold brew. He loved both! The chilaquiles weren't too spicy, and he said the nitro was different from any cold brew he's had before and almost creamy. But the COFFEE CAKE!! When they asked if we wanted toast or coffee cake, we both chose coffee cake and thank goodness we did Soft, sweet, icing drizzled on top and SO good. That is something I would 100% come back for! Beautiful location, friendly service, good breakfast and great coffee. Such a relaxing way to start the morning. We'd definitely come back! And next time, coffee cake again. No question.

That's exactly what my family and I did before heading into the restaurant! The process was easy and convenient. When you walk in, you can grab your own menu, find an open table, and once you decide what you'd like, you place your order and receive a number. The fountain drinks, coffee, and tea are self-serve, which makes everything simple and convenient. Our visit was great! I ordered the chilaquiles, and they were delicious--flavorful but not spicy. My kids ordered chicken and fries, while my daughter got a hamburger, which she really enjoyed. Another thing I liked is that since you pay when you order, once you're finished eating, you can simply leave without having to wait for the check. I also want to give a special thank you to Tiffany, the manager. I accidentally forgot my wallet, and thankfully someone turned it in. Tiffany was extremely helpful and made sure I was able to get it back. I truly appreciate her and the staff at Stratford! Overall, I'm very pleased with the location, the food, and especially the customer service. My family and I will definitely be going back!!
