We have been wanting to dine here for quite some time but just couldn't align till last weekend. The overall look and feel is cozy, a but cramped, but easy to overlook. Amazing! My mom was visiting town and wanted seafood. I've driven by Oceans many times over the years, but nobody I know has ever been there. As we walked in the ambience was nice, but they were only serving in the front area of the restaurant which was pretty small. My mom wanted to leave, but I said let's just give it a shot. The food was absolutely amazing! The service was great and we ended up having a wonderful dinner! We were both so happy that we decided to stay. Looking forward to my next visit at Oceans! read more

A more accurate rating would probably be 3.5 stars. Ordered. The petite, lobster tail and crabcake appetizer. I would describe the appetizer as more like mush cake appetizer. Could not really tell what was in it. No real discernible flavor. IMO, not worth the price. The petite lobster tail is for petite appetites. Lobster was probably a defrosted lobster tail. Not a significant amount of flavor in it. You will get approximately 8-10 bites depending how you cut it up. I ordered mine with a side of Caesar salad, which again was somewhat on the Meager side. Dressing was OK. Service was attentive. Restaurant is nicely decorated, there were white tablecloths on the tables. read more

Okay I never leave a review unless it's phenomenal or it's terrible and sad to say it's the latter. Came in for lunch and sat by myself outside. Service was ridiculously slow. Wasn't even busy. 5 tables max and you could tell they were at different stages of eating meaning either finishing up, eating, or waiting for food so it's not like the server was slammed. After 10 minutes sitting alone I get a menu and ask for water. After another 10 I finally get my water and place my order. Ordered sand dabs piccata with pasta checca. Food arrived fairly quick( concerning because everything else took forever so I wonder if they just heat it up or it's pre made). The fish had no piccata sauce and the waiter did not ever pass by again to check on me. Wish he did because I wanted to ask for some actual piccata sauce. Food was okay, 6/10. Nothing special but wasn't nasty either. Wait another 10 minutes to pay once I ask for check and mind you server never asked how the food was. After I pay I go inside and ask a couple of questions since it was my first time here. Then the server had the gall to ask for a tip I work at a restaurant myself and I've NEVER asked anyone for a tip because it's not mandatory I understand that. This guy doesn't lol. He wanted a tip after providing TERRIBLE service what a guy. I even told him I've never heard a server asking for a tip and he said "Well I do" and walked away haha. Couldn't get the waiters name but he has dark hair and a autopean accent if that helps. Oceans is my favorite restaurant in Palm Springs. There are many good restaurants, but this to me is a cut above. It is small and intimate with inside/outside dining. They stand outside and greet you as you enter, and are always courteous and very good service. Their seafood and fish is fresh and cooked to perfection (most flown in daily). They will go out of their way to fix you something special if they have it. I always order oysters, but it is an appetizer on the menu, but when I ask if they can make it a meal, the answer is always "of course, no problem". I've had several of their menu items and never been disappointed. Their prices are reasonable for the quality and service. I have been coming here for about 20 years and still wonderful. read more

We ended up here by accident because the road closures made it difficult to get to another seafood place in downtown PS. So we decided to try out Oceans for our frigate night Lenten meal. It was packed but they found us a table. The bread and the garlic oil dip was enough to put us into heaven. The perfect combo of a light olive oil, spices and garlic made it perfect. They had a wonderful array of seafood. I had the bouillabaisse and my partner had shrimp scampi over capellini. Everything cooked perfectly with great flavor. Sumptuous soup base. Drinks were great. Room is sexy, definitely a date night place. Service was off the hook. Great attention like they actually care about your experience !!! It was pricey, but worth. This gem has been here for 30 years and I'm just discovering it now!! The front dining room with a small bar and an enormous aquarium is a cross in decor between modern and 1970's mariner kitsch with rose pink tablecloths and napkins. We took our own seat and were given menus and fresh hot crusty bread with a side of herbed olive oil to dip in. They have a hand written menu on a white board with all of the specials of the day plus their standard menu. I had fried oysters to start with which we shared. My mom ordered grilled octopus with linguine which was phenomenal. I had the seafood Caesar which was ribs of Romaine with the clams and mussels in the shells around the center which had a very large prawn and scallop, and house made dressing with fresh garlic. I dove into before I could take a picture ‍ We finished by splitting a tiramisu which was by far the best I have ever had and I've eaten a lot of tiramisu! This may have been my first ever trip to Oceans, but it will certainly not be my last!! What an incredible meal we had to celebrate my boyfriend's special birthday. After starting with oysters on the half shell and Caesar salad - both delicious and so fresh! we devoured a perfectly cooked bone-in veal chop, and a huge Maine lobster tail - which was probably the largest lobster tail I've ever eaten in my life! My favorite restaurant and best Seafood Restaurant in the Coachella Valley! I have lunch here often and LOVE the Grilled Octopus, the Fried Oysters are a great option too. Also, dinner is on a whole nother level, steak and lobster, pasta seafood dishes, and cioppino are excellent here. I've enjoyed seafood up and down the whole West Coast and this restaurant is one of the best because they care to take the time to do things right! read more

I have some mobility issues so accessibility is a BIG plus/minus for me. This place rates really high on that point. It is in a shopping center across from Target. The menu is very, very nice and not limited (as you may think) to sea food. The place is deceptively large so you have a wide selection of seating areas.....busy or quiet. That's another plus for me. The waiter had wonderful timing re: taking orders, refilling glasses, serving and taking away. It made for a pleasant experience. I was with a small group and each of us ordered something difference. Small little place with easy parking. The moment you enter you are treated like family. This establishment will be celebrating 30 years in business next year. That is no small feat in this industry. Everyone is so friendly. Two rooms plus an outdoor space give you choices. The attentive staff is top-notch. Ask for the recommendations and they will give them to you with candor, something I've always liked in a good server. Seafood is fresh and delightful and wonderfully sauced and cooked. Everything was delicious from the Chilean Seabass with the checca sauce to the blackened Burramandi, which was spectacular and the butterflied Grilled whole prawns. One guest who is not a fish fan really really Enjoyed the rack of lamb everything was fresh favorable, and beautifully presented. The staff is warm and fighting and very talented. Arrived 30 mins early for my 7pm reservation and within minutes, I was seated despite the place being incredibly busy. Order a vodka martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, the escargot, ocean's salad, and the blackened barramundi. Cocktail? 4 stars. Slightly over shaken. But still had another Escargot? 5+ stars. Divine. Great temperature. Oceans Salad? 2 stars. Overpowered by the balsamic vinegar and wish the tomatoes were naturally ripe. Blackened Barramundi? Exceptional. It's rare to find a kitchen that doesn't overcook seafood. Clearly, this is their forte. The staff was incredibly attentive and timed every course perfectly. That made for a great night out. Will I be back? Absolutely. So much more of the menu to explore or should I say easel with nightly specials. read more

I really wanted to try this place because I like seafood. Inside was nothing special. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. We tried the fried oysters, crab cakes and octopus. The fried oysters and crab cakes were ok. I was anticipating trying the octopus, but I was disappointed. It was very chewy and hard to cut, even with a steak knife. One reason I wanted to try this place was because they have swordfish or so it said on the menu; however, they didn't. I couldn't get any swordfish at this restaurant. Since I couldn't get swordfish, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. It was ok, but it wasn't what I was expecting. I was hoping it came with rice, but the menu didn't say that it came with anything I can see why they didn't put it on the menu. They served it with some overcooked steamed vegetables. The (big) cup of Oceans chowder was the one of the best this chowder fanatic's ever had. While my Chilean Seabass was a good 4/5, my partner's blackened Barramundi was pure 5-star delight. This is the best kept secret in the desert. The service is amazing, our waiter was perfect as well as ourbus person.! they are the real deal like restaurants when I was growing up. Make sure you make a reservation because they can get very busy in season. All the food is delicious. We have never had a bad meal there, but last night was particularly good. A 12 ounce lobster cooked perfectly.... Please patronize these people they deserve our service unlike so many of the restaurants that simply cater to vacationers, knowing full well they won't be back for a few years. Reasonable prices for Palm Springs - all the lunch prices were under $20 for various seafood dishes. I got the seafood pasta w/ shrimp, calamari, scallops and mussels over Capellini in garlic wine sauce, and seafood was fresh and tender w/ tiny clams, too. We wanted a Seafood restaurant on our vacation itinerary and during my online research, realized that this was where we dined the last time we were in the area (6 years ago). Service and food is excellent. The only "negative" is that you cannot see any signage from E. Palm Canyon Drive, so we drove past it, only to catch a landmark when we realized that we passed it. It is located in the back corner of a shopping center, what we call back home a "strip center". There is a sign at the entrance for stores in the shopping center, with blank spaces -- a perfect opportunity for Oceans to have a sign at the entrance so others don't drive past it! read more
