Small place with…read more cool stuff Tag Sale Treasures is a small store located right in Pawtuxet Village. Certainly not a large place, it's cramped and crowded with stuff. Type of place where you have to turn sideways at times to get by things. I'm not sure what the building was built for originally but it is obviously has been around for a while. The inside is basically several small rooms stuffed with stuff. All kinds of antiques, linens, old signs, clothing, furniture and plenty of cool knick knacks and doo dads. Things seem to move in and out quickly so every trip is a new adventure. The folks that work here are pleasant and friendly and let you take your time and look around without bothering you. That's a good thing because there is a lot to look at even though it's all in a small area. Mundane and common things mixed in with the unusual. The last time we happened by we saw a reproduction antique sink that was exactly what we were looking for. The price ended up being substantially lower than on line catalogs we were looking at. It was easy to install and works and looks great. A pleasant and unexpected find in a cool little store.

I pointed them out to the delivery crew and explained that I was told by the sales people not to accept anything that wasn't perfect as they wouldn't take it back later. I expressed that the peace had some indentations and would like it to be returned. The delivery crew then proceeded to say...why don't we just have somebody come out and fix it. I said because I was told not to take anything that wasn't perfect because only at time of delivery would they accept it back. Therefore, I like to have it removed. The person in charge continued to try to pressure me just to accept it. When I said no they became very angry and stormed off with the product. They had to return later with a different item that somehow didn't make it on the original truck. The r&f tracking device shows you when the crew is close. My time changed throughout the entire day. It was supposed to arrive at 11:30, 12:00, then "soon", 2:45, 3:30, again "soon", 5:00, 5:45, 6:15 or 6:30 p.m.. it was the exact same crew that left in a huff in the morning. While they were at my place, a person from r&f called to see how my delivery went. I was very specific about my experience and how disappointed I was. I also expressed that I thought was outrageous that I was paying for delivery. That first had a a defected item and then for a second item that took all day despite their tracker showing all different times. It was beyond inconvenient. It felt personal. It took several days for them to be able to bring a replacement piece. However, I would swear hand to God that it was the exact same one they had delivered before due to where the divots were. I am so frustrated with this company that they treat customers so poorly that all they care about is the money. There are so many other furniture companies out there. Please don't waste your time with r&f!

For months now we've been looking for a new livingroom chair to fit in a small space…read more Shortly after we walked in a sales associate approached. He asked what we were looking for to point us in the right direction and let us know where to find prices. He also explained some pieces are available in other colors and where we could find that information. Then he left us to wander the floor. Some items on display are the item you get. The tag will specify 'floor model' if this is the case. It's quite a large space. Most pieces are set up as you would find them in your home with side tables, lamps, wall decor and so on. Everything is for sale of course, not just for show. They also have bedroom, dining room and other miscellaneous furniture pieces as well as mattresses. If you are thinking of purchasing a floor model, be sure to look it over carefully as what you see is what you get. This goes for decorative pieces too. Sadly our hunt for a small profile, comfy seat, with arms, and possibly the occassional nap, continues. We'll drop in another time to see what's on offer.

I made this clear to Lynda, the owner, and she told me no problem, I could still purchase it and come back and pick it up when we got back to town and she would make sure everything was noted. I paid the $200 and got a receipt with the phone number circled and Lynda's name written at the top for me to call and arrange the pick-up upon my return. As luck would have it, our afternoon flight on 6/11 was delayed by bad weather and we were not able to make it to the store that day. I called at noon the next day (6/12) to let Lynda know my BF would be by that afternoon to pick it up...only to be told THE CHEST OF DRAWERS HAD BEEN RE-SOLD (like, double sold, basically) TO SOMEONE ELSE THE PAST WEEKEND! Prior to my opportunity to re-iterate the arrangement we'd made, the whole thing is my fault, or at least not their problem, and it's clear Lynda 1) had zero recollection of me, my purchase or our arrangement and 2) does not properly note pick-up arrangements. First, I'm told that I did not come in within the "7-10 day window" and that this is "posted throughout the store" - um hello, I explicitly said I was out of town until 6/11, and how was this not noted on my item?! Then, I was told that people don't come back for "Layaways" regularly, in which case they sell it to someone else - wait, you call my full payment of $200 layaway?! Then she was blaming it on her "small storage area" - ok so someone's purchased property has been sitting at your store for a mere 12 DAYS (as they told you it would) and based off your "small storage area" you re-sell it to someone else for another $200?! To be frank, I don't believe they thought this was on layaway - I can't see how a consignment store would forget a $200 purchase (vs. layaway) of a Robin Egg Blue chest of drawers. I would think $200 makes a difference on the books...? Finally, they supposedly didn't have my phone number, which honestly I can't remember if I gave it to them or not. But regardless, if you are a consignment store owner who has a policy to re-sell $200 merchandise if not picked up in a very short window of time - you should get the phone number (!!!) so you can at least ensure you are an ethical store/owner and call first, before getting a double profit on a piece of used furniture. The only credit I'll give is once I got upset and refuted all of the aforementioned things she said, she finally said that it was their fault and apologized and said they should not re-sell purchased items except if it's been an exceptionally long time, and that she failed to properly note my timeframe for returning. She also offered me an additional $10 back for my trouble...??

Like any auction house, there are occasional bargains to be had for buyers but there are also plenty of times that items are sold for collectors' prices, like when they offered the gorgeous mid-century movie and monster posters. They advertise online and in social media, and they share hundreds of pictures for every auction. An auction house can't tell you for sure what you'll get or what you'll pay for your items. If they could, they'd be a retail store.

BIDDERS BEWARE! I had a terrible experience with this internet auction house and will never bid on…read moreanother of their auctions. I bid on 3 separate lots of comic book-related materials - each lot had major issues. I paid $790.75 for all 3 lots, so I wouldn't call this a frivolous buy. On Lot 1, the #1 issue in a series of 16 books (the most valuable item in the lot & the only reason I was bidding on it), turns out to have NO BACK COVER. This makes the very item I was bidding on practically worthless. On Lot 2, one of the promised items was misrepresented in the vague description, thus I did not receive the item I expected. On lot 3, one item out of the 6 books in the lot was again MISSING THE BACK COVER, thus it's worthless. The photos provided for all 3 auctions only displayed the front covers, yet on many of their other comics lots, they showed both front & back (standard in the vast majority of comics auctions). This is highly suspicious behavior as it seems as if they were hiding the true POOR condition of some of the key items in each lot. I spoke at length with both Ashlee (Office Mgr) and Travis Landry (Office Director) about the issues with each lot. Travis blew off my concerns and told me it was strict store policy to return all items for a full refund. No negotiation, no options, no renumeration, just return it all. "It wouldn't be fair to all the other bidders if you were able to return one item out of a lot." I do not understand this logic at all. Travis, it's about time you rethought your "strict policy."
