I find all of the employees to be honest and kind at this auction. Bonus points when they're funny, which is often. Like any auction house, there are occasional bargains to be had for buyers but there are also plenty of times that items are sold for collectors' prices, like when they offered the gorgeous mid-century movie and monster posters. They advertise online and in social media, and they share hundreds of pictures for every auction. An auction house can't tell you for sure what you'll get or what you'll pay for your items. BIDDERS BEWARE! I had a terrible experience with this internet auction house and will never bid on another of their auctions. I bid on 3 separate lots of comic book-related materials - each lot had major issues. I paid $790.75 for all 3 lots, so I wouldn't call this a frivolous buy. On Lot 1, the #1 issue in a series of 16 books (the most valuable item in the lot & the only reason I was bidding on it), turns out to have NO BACK COVER. This makes the very item I was bidding on practically worthless. On Lot 2, one of the promised items was misrepresented in the vague description, thus I did not receive the item I expected. On lot 3, one item out of the 6 books in the lot was again MISSING THE BACK COVER, thus it's worthless. The photos provided for all 3 auctions only displayed the front covers, yet on many of their other comics lots, they showed both front & back (standard in the vast majority of comics auctions). This is highly suspicious behavior as it seems as if they were hiding the true POOR condition of some of the key items in each lot. I spoke at length with both Ashlee (Office Mgr) and Travis Landry (Office Director) about the issues with each lot. Travis blew off my concerns and told me it was strict store policy to return all items for a full refund. No negotiation, no options, no renumeration, just return it all. "It wouldn't be fair to all the other bidders if you were able to return one item out of a lot." I do not understand this logic at all. The worst online auctioneers in the world. They sell things online but decide they can't ship it. You must arrange to have other people pick it up, wrap it, then ship it for them. They need to realize this isn't the nineteenth century anymore. Nobody sells on the internet then decides they don't ship. If that's just not the laziest bunch of people. CAUTION: Very disappointed with the sale of my items. I had talked to Travis on several occasions discussing the potential sales. When he came to examine the items he gave me great hopes that the merchandise would be handled expeditiously in grading and that they would sell in lots of lower value with high value to bring in the best price. One item alone was in his estimate $1200-$1500 after grading was completed. He assured me that I would get the best sales with his company. I felt confident that after commission (which is high) I'd receive a reasonable amount for the collection. This collection should have brought in without question, twice the amount I was paid if handled the way I was lead to believe. Sales finally happened months after the projected date and I could never find the auctions on line that supposedly listed my items. I had an outside independent company provide me with pricing which was low and he admitted he was to small to offer more, but that this auction house would be great! Years prior an offer of $8k+ was given. At that time, we didn't want to sell the collection. We sold now because of a death. Itemized invoices are showing that lots (of who knows how many items) went for $5. The one item of great value came in at $1k. I have corresponded with this Company with an answer of no guarantees. I understand that, but the hope that was instilled that they would work for me to get the best price. They didn't do that for me and I have received LESS than the low pricing of the independent company. There were 14 collector boxes of comics in good shape. Don't trust these people, they are liars. Told me they would promote my items to get me the most money, they didn't. I couldn't find anything on the internet promoting my items that were to be put in an online auction. I specifically told them that I didn't want my items sold in their Discover It auction. Guess where they blew my items out that were worth tens of thousands of dollars, the Discover It auction. The result, I got pennies on the dollar. Sleazeball operation, seller beware!! read more
